why is my phone taking like 3 mints to make a simple phone call? ok, so let me get this straight this phone can do all this other thing but make a simple phone call when i press call ugh...

My Droid Eris will charge from about 20% to 100% in a matter of 1-3 hours- it's always quite fast! Last night, my phone was at 20% when I went to sleep at about 12am and when I woke up at 6am it was only at 40%. The phone felt very hot. I took it off the charger and put it in another plug. It is now 4pm and the phone is only at 80% and at times feels hot. I checked out the cord and there are no lesions or breaks or any visible problems w/ the cord. I'm not sure what's going on- any thoughts? I'm going to take it to the VZW store to obtain an understanding. It's only been 3-4 months that I obtained the phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone else have a problem time to time where you're getting an incoming call you hit the green button or the button on the screen to pick up the call and it takes so long to happen that the call is missed and never picks up.
Or how about when you hit phone and you dial a number and hit call and it lags big time, or when go to your past history calls and touch it, it takes like 5-10 sec to make the call?
I am on call this weekend - was talking to a patient when all of a sudden the call cuts off. (no land line, so i have to use my eris on call) -- I push the trackball to light up the screen and nothing happens. Then a few seconds later the bootup screen starts (where it says 'HTC - quietly brilliant). The phone was fully charged...anybody ever have this happen to them? I rely on this phone to reach patients and other doctors...am not happy about this.

So my End Call button no longer locks the phone today. I always hit it because I am trying to squeeze all I can from the battery. I did install the Not Call Log app because I wanted the button to return to Home instead of the default, but I did uninstall it. If I long press the button, it still brings up the menu to Power Off, Airplane mode, etc. It just does not quick lock the phone, which I really like.
More info: The end call button does re-lock the phone (turn off the screen) when it is already locked, but still does nothing when I am sitting on the Home screen (when I really want to lock the thing).
I just woke my phone after a phone call and now it says that the sd card is damaged and I need to reformat everything!!! I have over 200 pictures of my newborn son on here that I can't loose. I even tried to hook the phone up to the computer and nothing even shows up.

The screen says "slide to unlock the phone and answer the call" but if I want the call to go to voicemail I Have to let it keep ringing. also how do I get music from Itunes into the Eris?

It is very annoying to have the phone vibrate while it's against my face, and the person I'm talking to can hear it as well. It just started doing this a few weeks ago, and nothing seems to fix it. I want to dial from my computer, speak through my computer's microphone and hear the other person through my computer's speakers. I don't want to use VOIP though, I just want a program that will sync those functions with my phone. I went ahead and downloaded the Calendar Pad for Android and it is really great. It went and synched with the Calendar app native to the device, which is find because i really like the UI.
But I need a separate calendar app for my work stuff. I don't want them on the same calendar (way too crowded).
Anyone know of an app that just "keeps to itself"? I searched and I couldn't find one.
As I figured, the update came through as I'm getting ready for work. How long does it take? It's been downloading for like 20 minutes.

Downloads occasionally. Most of my browsing is done on my phone, facebook, sport sites etc.
My battery usually lasts from about 7 in the morning to 4 or 5 at night with moderate texting and low usage of the internet since im in school :O JW if it should be longer or if this is normal.

When you want to make a call - you press the phone button and the phone dial buttons pop up and on the top some names from the contact list. You can roll down to get the full list of contact names to select from...
My problem is that this dial list is too sesnsetive : it is enough to touch a name and puff it starts dialing right away. This way I started call by accident people that I did not really want to call. Can this smart dial be made less touch sensetive. Or better: an option when the phone will respond "do you want to call this person?" or something
I have an Eris and my recent call log on my phone displays my outgoing calls as Unknown even if they are saved in my Google contacts. I have the outgoing calls set to go through GV option selected on the phone and I'm not sure what's going on. The contact is displayed for a second and then reverts to Unknown. When I add the unknown number to my existing contacts it works and displays properly, but when I call the same number back from my contact list, it shows up as unknown. My incoming calls and missed calls all show up with the proper contact info, so it seems to just be a problem with my outgoing calls. Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix this?

I can long press any of the top two rows apps/widgets fine to remove or add in an empty space. but the bottom two rows I can't remove or add with a long press.anyone else have this issue? I'm trying to figure out whats new but she isn't that into her phone so she never installs stuff on it, im the one tweaking and playing with her phone and I haven't touched it in a week this started happening randomly 2 days ago.

The Current location 1/2 says Albuquerque, New Mexico. It says "No weather data available"
The 2/2 entry I programed is Albuquerque, NM and that works.
I just added a 3rd Dallas, TX and that works.
Something is odd. It's using the long spelled out state name for the Current location and that doesn't seem to be found in the Weather server when it checks. Just the 2 letter state names seem to work.
I have a question regarding a feature that just seemed to disappear from Handcent SMS.
Before, when I composed a message in the app or using quick compose (long press search button), there would be a drop down list of possible choices when I began typing in the "To:" field. For example, if I typed "k", it would show names beginning with "k". But now the feature is gone and it really sucks when I want to compose a text.
Does anyone else have this issue? Is it Handcent's problem or a software problem (v2.1 bug?), and does anyone know how to fix it?
So all of a sudden my Handsent is acting up, long time to open, wont send pics, but will send pics if I use stock messeges. Do I need to reset the entire phone again and start from scratch or is there an easier way to fix the problem with Handsent?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't remember my DroidX always doing this, but recently after I hang-up from a call it shows the "Call Time XX:XX" in the center of the screen and I can't do anything until it goes away, which is generally 5-8 seconds. Hitting Home, Back, etc does nothing and tapping on the screen or the message also does nothing.Is this a setting I can disable? I can look at the recent calls to get the length of call if I need to see it, so I don't need the dramatic pause to give me this info.
