Jul 17, 2010Can you guys/gals post your verizon 3g speedtests for me here please, and the city you ran the test. To do a speedtest you can download an app from market place called speedtest... it is provide by speedtest.net. or you can use your phones browser and go to www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ this second option might not work if your phone doesn't support flash maybe.

Is there anything I can do about this or is this type of code a no-no? When searching the web I see people changing the intent filters in what I assume is their own app, but I obviously cannot change anything in a preinstalled app.
HTC Droid Eris :: You Tube Search Results Error
Jul 20, 2010So I've been noticing this problem recently and it's seriously confusing me about YouTube on the Eris (both in app and the mobile site.)The search results on the Eris for both app and m. site are missing a LOT of results compared to when I search the same thing on my laptop. I chalked that up to YouTube having HD options now like when I searched (please don't judge, it was a favor for my fiancee)

Android :: Market Search Results Position Mystery
Apr 2, 2010How is an app's position in the Android Market search results determined? Is it as mysterious and complex as Google Web search results? We obviously don't want to change any words in our app's title or description that would hurt our position.
Same question applies for not only search results, but when clicking on a Category in the Android Market. How is the order of the list determined? I would think that Google would have published some guidelines at least that could help, but I haven't found anything yet.
Android :: Why Does Market Not Display Search Results At Times (1.5)

If I search for a generic term at top it may say 5 results found, but in the search results it says to re word your search. Why won't it just tell me the 5 it found?
This is on a Sprint hero with 1.5 cupcake obviously.

Mar 18, 2010I have a little question, perhaps it's quite easy, but I've been looking for it for over a week now.
When I search on the market for a specific application, say "shazam", I get a message;
Suggestion
- Make sure all words are spelled correctly
- Try other keywords
- Try less specific keywords
However in the top bar it says
"1 result for Shazam"
But the result isn't showed. I have this problem with up to 9 search results.
I'm using a HTC Hero. Any suggestions on this one?
HTC Droid Eris :: Market Fix Changed My Market Icon Back To Original
Apr 29, 2010I had an edited png for the market icon in the vending apk but when I applied my edited png's to Ivans rom with the market fix it seems to have changed the icon back to the original market Icon. When I first loaded the rom it showed my edited png for the market icon but after my first reboot it seems to change the icon back to the original. I assume that the market is updating upon reboot so I pulled the vending apk off my phone and my edited png's are still there but its still showing the original market icon. Anybody else with an edited market icon notice this or any ideas of why its going back to original? I have tried this a couple times and it always updates after first reboot...

Feb 10, 2010My phone "eris" was in my back pocket for about an hour as I was Food shopping. When I took it out It would not come out of Lock screen / sleep state. The Only thing that brought it back to life was taking the battery out and replacing it several times. I did not Sit on the phone or bump it in anyway that might have caused this. Also, when I put it in my pocket, the screen was already locked. This has happened about 4 times in the last week and the phone is just past the 30 day window for a return. On a side note, I recently installed Beautiful Widgets Version 2.85 and have noticed the phone will not go to sleep. I even unchecked the notifications option and chose all the different weather refresh settings, but it still would not sleep. Is this a bug or just the way the program works? By the way, When I say sleep I don't mean clicking the "End" button and locking the screen, But the internal phone "awake time" as found under phone status.

Jul 17, 2010I am in a verizon store. There is a droidx and droid incredible right next to each other. I installed speedtest.net app on both. Used advanced task killer to kill background apps on both..then ran speedtest.net app.Ran the test ten times on each phone to get a good average. Droidx gets 0.50 mbps max...incredible gets 2.0 mbps nearly on every one of the ten runs I did. Why? Is this a known issue? I wanna get the phone..its in stock..but this speedtest issue is bugging me. Any explanations?Also the droid x is getting only 2 bars..the inc has full signal. Been here about an hour, and no change in signal or speedtest.live update.. I am going to drive to another verizon store right now and repeat the tests on new phones..I will run with and withouth task killer. Ill update once I get to the new verizon store.
