I thought I would try to create a thread with short answers and links to instructions. I would like to keep this thread short. It is Random. But all should have OTA by May 24. (For those sticklers as random as a computer will generate I know it is not truly random but close enough for this case.)

- Has anyone with the leak got the OTA?
No. No one reported getting OTA as yet. Look Here.
- Is the leaked 2.1ver3 the same as the OTA?
Yes. Except for the HBOOT version, leaked has 1.49. How to check HBOOT version
- Can I manually install the OTA?
YES. Instructions
- Does 2.1 have live wallpaper?

I'm trying to make an app with localisation built in, but I want a way that I can create a web link within the text, the URL being defined elsewhere (for ease of maintenance).
So, I have my links in res/values/strings.xml code...
But this didn't work either.
So, I'd like to know if there's a way of dynamically adding multiple URLs to different sections of the same text which will link to web content?
Eris = rooted to KaosFroyo v37
Laptop = XPPro
Both seem to be working perfectly, except:
The Contacts and Calendar on the phone no longer appear on my laptop. Worked fine yesterday.
Obviously it's some idiotic thing I did or failed to do, but I haven't a clue.
I have installed Dolphin and like it, and I've made it my default browser, which is great. However, it is not only the system default, but it even opens links I click on in the Android provided browser (sometimes I both open). On your computer, when you click links in your non-default browser it doesn't send the links to the default one, and it shouldn't on this OS, either. Any ideas how to keep Dolphin as my system default browser, but not have it open links I click on in the Android web browser?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOcassionaly, when responding to a text, the area you type in for me that says "Tap to compose" is greyed out and when I type, nothing happens. Usually requires a reboot. Anyone have any idea why it would be doing this or how to fix it? I love my phone, but the reboots take forever.

Well, in a few cases I have saved words on accident, like I saved the word "tou" once by accident. So now every time I type that it stays at that and doesn't auto correct to "you." How can I go into my saved words or even predictive text menu and edit words?

Another problem i am having is when i take a picture and try to send it it says file to big to send. Is there something that i can change in the settings to.cure this

View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.
View 8 Replies View RelatedToday the rom bug bit me and I tried about 3 or 4 different roms (after TIbackup and nand backup of course) including xtrROM and ELB, hated them all, and decided to go back to my beloved sense-able 3.1 nand backup.
wiped, restored, and now all my market links are gone. (except for gmaps, for some reason). TIbackup refuses to even install again from the market because the package signature is incorrect, or something. TIb said it was supposed to restore market links.any suggestions? is there even any way to restore a market link besides just reinstalling the program outright? I found this thread http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-hero/81290-market-does-not-see-all-my-downloads-after-nandroid-restore.html as reference. All my programs will show as "installed" if I search them in market.either way, sense-able was definitely the sexiest-out of the box ROM I tried. everything else without sense was just ugh, looked like I'd loaded up a G1. couldn't tell a speed difference at all with the same setCPU profile, and xtrROM was so bad on battery I only made it through few hours before uninstalling. I cannot live with the sense keyboard and search-dialer.
When I receive a email either gmail or yahoo that has a link within it, for example a link to a thread I have subscribed to sometimes the link is blue and I can click on it to go directly to the site, BUT sometimes it is just like a maroon color. When it is maroon I can't click on it to go to the site/thread, when it is blue I can?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay so I updated to 2.1 a while back and everything has been awesome with the exception of handcent so I ditched that and got chomp. Well this morning sent out a text and just thought the person never replied then I noticed I didn't get a reply back from anyone else I texted either. Some of them called me after to ask me why I ignored their reply back. I just didn't get their messages. So I turned off my phone and turned it back on then sent a message to a friend and finally got a reply back. So from like 6am-4pm I couldn't get any texts. I don't know if this is a 2.1 problem or an inbox being full thing cuz I didn't get a message saying it was.

I have one contact that has a phone link, twitter link, facebook link, and gmail link, and the display name is the twitter name. I dont like this, and I cant change it. I tried linking the phone contact name last, and it still reverts to Twitter. Where are the permissions at to say which account should bear the contact name in my phonebook? I'd like to be able prompt my app to open link (instead of the browser) when the user clicks on a URL of a given pattern. This could be when the user is on a web page in the browser, or in an email client, or a WebView in a freshly minted app.
For example, click on a YouTube link from anywhere in the phone and you'll be given the chance to open the YouTube app.
How do I achieve this for my own app.

Just had to reboot my phone because my text messages were not sending and giving me some cryptic error that didnt tell me anything worthwhile.Wondering if anyone has seen this on their Eris? I've read about text message issues on the Hero, but so far not anything about the Eris yet. Hopefully it was just a 1-time fluke up until then it's been working perfectly for 3 days now, and its working perfectly fine again now.
