HTC Droid Eris :: Bluetooth Syncing - Jawbone Prime

Jun 11, 2010

I just got a Jawbone Prime and it's absolutely amazing! However, after I charge it I have to restart my Eris to get it to connect. There isn't any problem if I move out of range and back. It connects right up. Is anyone else having this issue with a Jawbone? I'm not sure if it's a phone problem or a headset problem. I'm running leak v3 and haven't had this issue with the 2 other headsets I have.

HTC Droid Eris :: Bluetooth Syncing - Jawbone Prime

General :: Jawbone Jambox Bluetooth Speaker - No Output

Jun 7, 2012

I have just purchased the Jawbone Jambox. Very nice bit of kit and the sound is great. When I pair with my laptop, it works no problem outputting the sound from Spotify or Movies etc.

When I try and play music from my handset, it just comes out the handsets speakers even though it is paired. The same for games and video.I have an HTC Desire with Cyanogen 7 installed.

The Jambox has a built in mic and works fine when paired as a hands free setup. I hear the phone ringing from the speakers so that proves it is working.I have done a bit of reading and have found some posts talking about on the iPhone, you can set what the phone outputs the sound to. ie. The Jambox rather than the builtin speaker.

I have not been able to find anything like that for the ROM I am using or even mention of it for other Android handsets.

It was perfect timing for me because I was looking at buying bluetooth headphones and now I dont have to. Currently listening to Pandora through the ICON. I've also tested it on Scaner Radio.

Motorola Droid :: Jawbone Headset Paired Nicely And Easy To Operate

Apr 28, 2010

Just so everyone knows, this headset is awesome. I got the Rogue at VZW store for $75. Also, those who don't know, the VIP program is discontinued - so nice of them to send notification. Paired beautifully - and if you have your Droid and another phone, it can take calls and manage calls on multiple phones.

Anyhow - it paired nicely, easy to operate, very clear on both ends, and it tells you the number that is calling audibly. There are "apps" for the headset and one of them is for voice dialing. I will try it, but the Droid hardware (I think) doesn't support it. We shall see. Anyhow, I always like a heads up when looking for a good product so I hope this helps someone.

HTC Droid Eris :: Phone Keeps Syncing / How To Fix?

Sep 21, 2010

I am a new user to the thread. My Eris is not rooted. It keeps syncing Gmail, weather, and Facebook. It will stop and then start again. Every time I look down at the phone it is syncing. I've tried taking the battery out. I finally unchecked background data on the "Accounts and Sync". Is there another way to fix this?

HTC Droid Eris :: My Gmail Has Not Been Syncing For Several Days

Jul 29, 2010

My Gmail has not been syncing for several days. I've tried a battery pull a couple times, no luck.Under MENU>ACCOUNTS>MENU>SETTINGS>MANAGAE ACCTS, all looks fine, there's no errors. When I tap the SYNC NOW button, nothing. I guess the next step is to remove and re-add the account. I understand that'll wipe any data on the phone, such as pics and texts. A couple questions:

1. What else will I lose besides pics and texts?

2. Is there any way to back that stuff up/move it to the SD card?

3. Is there another fix to this syncing issue out there that won't wipe the phone?

HTC Droid Eris :: Syncing Contact Photos

Apr 5, 2010

I searched but couldn't find what I needed.I made the mistake of syncing my Eris with Facebook. I would rather use the photos I have for contacts in Gmail but now that I've synced with Facebook I can't get the photos to go away, short of going to each contact and choosing to sync the birthdays but not photos. Even then, would i really have to add each of their photos to the SD card and change each one individually in their contact file? More simply put: How can I unsync Facebook photos with contacts? I tried logging out of Facebook and uninstalling the app but, disturbingly, it continues to show contact photos from FB and, more disturbingly, gives me updates on them. I'm definitely logged out and I definitely uninstalled the app.

HTC Droid Eris :: Syncing Music From Laptop

Jan 24, 2010

I'm trying to get a subset of my music from my laptop onto my Eris. Can't use iTunes (obviously). iTunes Agent sets up just fine, but then when I hit the "sync" button, says "no connected devices" or words to that effect. (Even though it saw the Eris just fine when going through setup!) Doubletwist doesn't see all my playlists (and it DOES see playlists that were deleted). I have it syncing a couple of playlists, just to see how it goes. Salling Media Sync seemed like a great idea (it saw all the right playlists) but it crashes every time on the first song. And if I take that song out of the sync, it crashes on the "new" first song.
I've looked at MediaMonkey and TuneWiki and (for various reasons) didn't like them. I'd be fine with DoubleTwist if only it saw the real playlists... (and yes, I've searched the forums, apologies in advance if I missed the answer)

HTC Droid Eris :: Syncing Contacts With Google

Jan 13, 2010

When I got my phone replaced the guy at the verizon store didn't wait long enough for my phone to sync contacts, so he took the contacts from the old phone and put them on my new one, then google synced my contacts so I had 2 of them all. I went through and deleted all the doubles, tried to sync a few times and gmail wouldn't change, so I went to gmail and merged all the doubles so everything was perfect, but my phone wouldn't sync the contacts from gmail. So finally I just manually added the ones I needed to my phone.

A few days later gmail finally updated and now has half my normal contacts(only what was on my phone). I saved a backup of my old contacts from gmail, so I can get all my contacts back on my gmail account, but how do i make it so my phone get the contacts from gmail? Basically I want to delete all the contacts on my phone and save the ones from gmail on it, but it seems that the phone is "in charge" by that I mean gmail copys what contacts are in the phone, instead of the phone copying from gmail.

In a nutshell, the phone is constantly syncing with something. It still happens when I Taskill mostly everything, and i tried to use Droidwall to work out what it was but my results were a bit stuffy, i couldn't accurately determine what it was. Facebook perhaps? i have it set to sync every 8 hours. So basically what iam asking is does anyone know what it could be and how I may sort it out? Failing that, does anyone know of an app that will tell me exactly what's using the connection at the time?

Also, when I go into 'people', and go to the option that allows you to pick who you want to show, (google, facebook, phone, etc...) it shows my facebook contacts as being 0. Anyone know how to get it to sync back properly? I went straight to the sync accounts setting and synced facebook, google, and the weather right from the beginning. But no luck.

HTC Droid Eris :: Syncing With Outlook - Without Google

Nov 8, 2009

I think one big advantage the Eris has over the Motorola Droid is the ability to easily sync your Outlook from your PC to the phone, without using Google or your Gmail account. I'm old school and don't like the idea of all my stuff being in Google's hands.

There is a little learning curve to this so here it is step by step to save you some time.

1.Gmail contacts/mail.
The reps at the Verizon store and Best Buy have been trained to get you set up on Gmail before you leave the store, either on your existing account or starting you out with a new one. If you have an existing account there is one caveat. Gmail creates contacts for you from email addresses automatically if you really want them as "contacts" or not. If you do NOT want all these people in your phone contact list (found under the "People" ap by the way then delete them in Gmail before you set up the account. You can do this by clicking the "Contacts" link in the left column, hitting select all in the middle, and delete. You can also selectively delete then and or/sort them here. If you already have all these contacts in your phone and want to get rid of them on the device go to the People ap, then hit the menu key, then delete contacts, then menu key again, then select all, then delete. I would also point out if you want to avoid the phone picking up your Gmail contacts in the future go to the settings menu, data synchronization, and Google and there you can uncheck syncing with Gmail contacts and Google calendar too for that matter.

2.Get the sync software from HTC.
Its not in the box and there is no mention of it in the Tips and Tricks guide (the only documentation that comes with the phone. It does get a description in chapter 9.3 in the full user guide (available here: http://member.america.htc.com/download/web_materials/Manual/DROID_ERIS_Verizon/DROID_ERIS_Verizon_English_UM_11_5.pdf)

The link for the software is here. (note this is only on the HTC US site.) On that page are the instructions on how to install it so I won't go into that. But its important to note to install the software before you connect your phone to the computer.
HTC Sync Update 2.0.8 for DROID ERIS

3.Using the HTC Sync.
Once the software is running and you phone has been found and recognized by Windows you will notice the buttons in the software don't do anything. You will see Synchronize Now and Sync Manager. The is because you now have to tell the phone what to do which is different from most sync managers. On the phone there is a notification bar - the very top bar with the icons showing your network, wifi, battery etc. That's actually a pull-down. Touch and hold there and when you see the grey bar appear below it drag that down. Now you will see "USB connected" and "HTC Sync". You can also get to this by hitting the menu button and notifications. If you touch USB Connected you will to another menu which will "mount" the phone as a drive on your computer - this is how you will then drag and drop items to the SD card in the phone. Docs, music, videos whatever. If you hit the HTC Sync button you will really be connecting the phone to the computer for syncing. On the phone you will get a sync now menu and on the computer you will see your HTC Sync has changed with the prior two buttons lit up and another button added "Application Loader"

The first time you do this you will get the Sync Manager settings dialog asking what you want to sync and from where. Be sure to hit the properties button to set these selections as you want. I had a problem initially getting my Outlook calendar to sync. If this happens to you under properties deselect "default calendar folder" and set the folder yourself to calendar - mine had defaulted to contacts which is why the calendar didn't come in the first time.

HTC Droid Eris :: Gmail Inbox Not Syncing Properly

May 21, 2010

i just got the Eris a couple days ago, and love it with a few exceptions. I've been searching and searching for an answer to this, and i cant seem to find it. When I activated my phone at the VZW store, I synced it with my gmail account. When I opened my inbox on my phone, I was surprised to see emails that i had deleted some time ago (using a computer). It synced over 2000 messages from my inbox. My first question is WHY?!? and is there a way to 'undo' that madness, and erase them all short of having to check every message's box and delete them? Also, why when I delete a message it doesn't get deleted right away? I usually have to close out the app then reopen it and it'll be gone. Also, why when I delete a message does it still appear when I check gmail on my computer? if I delete it from the inbox using my computer/phone, shouldn't it not still be on the other device?

Just in case you are wondering, I then reinstalled android agenda widget and the problem returned. Uninstalled it again, recleared my data and now it syncs perfectly to my google account.

HTC Droid Eris :: Facebook Contacts Auto-syncing

May 2, 2010

The only other option I can think of is to completely remove Facebook from my phone and that's bullsh*t.I know it sounds confusing, but does anyone have any ideas on how to get around this? It woulddn't be such a problem, but now when I go to pick my contacts to forwards to, I have hundreds of contacts instead of the 95 or so I had before.

HTC Droid Eris :: Google Contacts Start Syncing Now

May 19, 2010

Go to menu>settings>applications>manage applications>contacts storage and then delete the data. I backed up my Google contacts on line first by exporting the file just in case. (Not a bad idea anyway, this way you'll have an Excel database with all your contact in case anything should ever happen to your phone). Then resync. It will all go back in without a problem.

I noticed that the file is about 1/2 the size now and I think that's because I didn't sync up all the Facebook data back yet (no photos matching to people, etc.). but I think I'll make sure it all syncs continuously again first, then try adding back in the Facebook info. So far two of the problems were solved by deleting old data (I didn't want to do a factory reset after getting 2.1 just where I wanted it except for the few glitches).
