I have a Droid Eris and a Macbook. I use iCal religiously and want to find a way to sync my iCal with Google Calendars. I used to use a program called Calgoo Connect, but that is no longer effective. Does anyone know of some freeware download?

Recent switcher to Android and owner of brand new Galaxy S4 here. I have two separate Gmail accounts, one for work and one for home. Each has its own Google Calendar. Both accounts are linked to my phone.
However, I want separate apps on my GS4 to handle each Google calendar. My phone came with S Planner and I have added Google Calendar App (GCA) from the Play store.
On S Planner I choose to display the home account calendar - no problems so far. I then switch to GCA and choose to display the work account calendar. Great. However, and this is my problem, these apps now seem to be 'linked', such that when I then go back into S Planner from GCA it is now displaying the work account calendar instead of the home calendar.
In other words, changes in one app seem to be mirrored in the other app. Is there any way around this, so that each app only displays one account calendar?
Is there any way to sync multiple google calendars on multiple accounts. I would like to have both of our calendars synced so we don't double book things. She has her own Android so we only want to sync the calendar.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Android, having moved from Nokia this last week. I've added my email accounts - Gmail & Exchange, but now I've got 3 calendars. I know they all display on my mobile, and I get alerts for them all, but I'd ideally like my phone to sync all the calendars with eachother. So when I look on Outlook, I see my phone and Google calendar, and when I look on Gmail, I see my Outlook and Phone calendars etc. This would seem to be a fairly simple thing to do - just to 'link' the calendars in a similar way to linking the phone/Google/Facebook contacts. Any way to do this without involving any PC apps etc.?

I have the calendar shared with full access to myself, but I still cannot see it on my phone, although I see if when I log in to Google Calendars. What am I doing wrong? Is it possible to see shared calendars on the Eris? If so, how do I go about doing it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've created multiple sub calendars within my standard gmail calendar account to managed my kids calendars. Doesn't look as though these calendars will come over to my Eris running 1.6. Is that correct? Any work around or am I missing something?
In the calendar option on the phone I see:
My calendar
My work gmail calendar
Outlook
I am a long time Palm user. I have a Centro and recently, just testing, moved all my contacts to Gmail and "some" of like 10 years of Calendar data (but not nearly all of it) - an no Memeo's or Tasks. Well, my Droid should be here in a few days and I wonder.. should I kill off and delete my test Calendar data and my contacts from my Gmail account? I plan to use that CompanionLink to do a 1 time sync of my Palm data and want to mitigate any issues and just have a nice clean port over. Best to remove what I have done OR leave what I have done since CompanionLink and Google will sort it out (redundant entries).

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I got my phone replaced the guy at the verizon store didn't wait long enough for my phone to sync contacts, so he took the contacts from the old phone and put them on my new one, then google synced my contacts so I had 2 of them all. I went through and deleted all the doubles, tried to sync a few times and gmail wouldn't change, so I went to gmail and merged all the doubles so everything was perfect, but my phone wouldn't sync the contacts from gmail. So finally I just manually added the ones I needed to my phone.
A few days later gmail finally updated and now has half my normal contacts(only what was on my phone). I saved a backup of my old contacts from gmail, so I can get all my contacts back on my gmail account, but how do i make it so my phone get the contacts from gmail? Basically I want to delete all the contacts on my phone and save the ones from gmail on it, but it seems that the phone is "in charge" by that I mean gmail copys what contacts are in the phone, instead of the phone copying from gmail.
When I try to sync my contacts with Google it always says an error with sync, something like sync is down. My calendar syncs fine but my contacts have never been able to sync since I had my phone in November.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI think one big advantage the Eris has over the Motorola Droid is the ability to easily sync your Outlook from your PC to the phone, without using Google or your Gmail account. I'm old school and don't like the idea of all my stuff being in Google's hands.
There is a little learning curve to this so here it is step by step to save you some time.
1.Gmail contacts/mail.
The reps at the Verizon store and Best Buy have been trained to get you set up on Gmail before you leave the store, either on your existing account or starting you out with a new one. If you have an existing account there is one caveat. Gmail creates contacts for you from email addresses automatically if you really want them as "contacts" or not. If you do NOT want all these people in your phone contact list (found under the "People" ap by the way then delete them in Gmail before you set up the account. You can do this by clicking the "Contacts" link in the left column, hitting select all in the middle, and delete. You can also selectively delete then and or/sort them here. If you already have all these contacts in your phone and want to get rid of them on the device go to the People ap, then hit the menu key, then delete contacts, then menu key again, then select all, then delete. I would also point out if you want to avoid the phone picking up your Gmail contacts in the future go to the settings menu, data synchronization, and Google and there you can uncheck syncing with Gmail contacts and Google calendar too for that matter.
2.Get the sync software from HTC.
Its not in the box and there is no mention of it in the Tips and Tricks guide (the only documentation that comes with the phone. It does get a description in chapter 9.3 in the full user guide (available here: http://member.america.htc.com/download/web_materials/Manual/DROID_ERIS_Verizon/DROID_ERIS_Verizon_English_UM_11_5.pdf)
The link for the software is here. (note this is only on the HTC US site.) On that page are the instructions on how to install it so I won't go into that. But its important to note to install the software before you connect your phone to the computer.

3.Using the HTC Sync.
Once the software is running and you phone has been found and recognized by Windows you will notice the buttons in the software don't do anything. You will see Synchronize Now and Sync Manager. The is because you now have to tell the phone what to do which is different from most sync managers. On the phone there is a notification bar - the very top bar with the icons showing your network, wifi, battery etc. That's actually a pull-down. Touch and hold there and when you see the grey bar appear below it drag that down. Now you will see "USB connected" and "HTC Sync". You can also get to this by hitting the menu button and notifications. If you touch USB Connected you will to another menu which will "mount" the phone as a drive on your computer - this is how you will then drag and drop items to the SD card in the phone. Docs, music, videos whatever. If you hit the HTC Sync button you will really be connecting the phone to the computer for syncing. On the phone you will get a sync now menu and on the computer you will see your HTC Sync has changed with the prior two buttons lit up and another button added "Application Loader"
The first time you do this you will get the Sync Manager settings dialog asking what you want to sync and from where. Be sure to hit the properties button to set these selections as you want. I had a problem initially getting my Outlook calendar to sync. If this happens to you under properties deselect "default calendar folder" and set the folder yourself to calendar - mine had defaulted to contacts which is why the calendar didn't come in the first time.
I just noticed that my Google calendar isn't automatically syncing with my phone despite the fact that I have it set to sync automatically. I enter new appointments on my computer and it isn't until I go in and actually ask the phone to sync that the appointments show up. Anyone else noticed this? Any fix? I've been through all the settings and can't seem to find a setting to set it to sync for specific time intervals (every hour, or once a day, etc.). Anyone else find this setting?
View 12 Replies View RelatedGo to menu>settings>applications>manage applications>contacts storage and then delete the data. I backed up my Google contacts on line first by exporting the file just in case. (Not a bad idea anyway, this way you'll have an Excel database with all your contact in case anything should ever happen to your phone). Then resync. It will all go back in without a problem.
I noticed that the file is about 1/2 the size now and I think that's because I didn't sync up all the Facebook data back yet (no photos matching to people, etc.). but I think I'll make sure it all syncs continuously again first, then try adding back in the Facebook info. So far two of the problems were solved by deleting old data (I didn't want to do a factory reset after getting 2.1 just where I wanted it except for the few glitches).
I have a long list of Google Contacts and only want to sync a subset of them to my Droid Eris. So, I created a "Phone" group in Google Contacts. Then on my Droid Eris (back when it was running 1.6) I was able to go "People" -> "Groups" -> "Menu" (or something like that) and select the "Phone" group as the only group from Google Contacts that would sync with my Droid Eris. Worked perfectly.
Now, after the 2.1 update I no longer have that option! I thought, "Maybe the option controls migrated somewhere else." I tried going "Menu" -> "Settings" -> "Accounts & Sync" -> "Google" and found nothing there as well. How can I just sync the "Phone" group from my Google Contacts with my Droid Eris which is now running 2.1?
I'm getting an error in the settings->data synchronization->google->contacts...it's saying that "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." It hasn't worked since Monday and I don't know what's going on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFrom my computer, I can log into my Google calendar and not only does it have my personal calendar, but it also includes the weather, US Holidays, and various sports schedules that I have chosen. On my Droid X, I was able to add the weather & US Holidays to my calendar, but not the sports schedules.
Also, I previously had a BlackBerry, and anytime I would accept Facebook events from my BlackBerry, it would automatically add it to my calendar (which was synced with my Google calendar). I don't think my Droid X has this same feature.
I have the HTC droid and was told by my salesperson there is an app to sync calendars, contacts with my mac.

Is there any way to fix this without rebooting and wiping everything off of my phone? How do you even reboot anyway? Other than this issue (I'm on 2.1, not rooted or anything) everything on the phone works just fine.

I've found four other threads on this topic, but for other phones and the solutions (only 2 had solutions) were not for this phone: different menu options, etc. When I go to the Settings/Calendars, only my personal ones show. Well, not even all of my personal ones. And my wife's doesn't show either.
View 25 Replies View RelatedI added my school's football and basketball schedules (FIU) as well as my actual favorite college team football schedule (FSU) to my google calendar. They show up fine on google calendar but they wont show up on my evo. Is there a limit on how many calendars the evo or android as a whole can display?
As it stands I have 7. US hollidays, UK Hollidays, Special events, FIU football schedule, FIU basketball schedule, FSU football Schedule and the default google calendar. How can I get them all to show up on my evo? When you use google calendar it allows you to "browse interesting calendars", some of which are sports schedules. I add the teams I want and they show up on my google fine but not my evo.
So I have a google account, jlhopwo@gmail.com. I never use it because it gets spammed mercilessly. I have a business account, jonathan@jonathanchef.com through google apps. This account is a google account! Google apps runs my jonathanchef website, I use google to access my email, contacts, calendar- these look exactly like the email, contacts, and calendar that are in my non-business @gmail.com account. The calendar that I can see on my Evo is the jlhopwo@gmail.com. I can get my @jonathanchef.com emails, but I can't seem to be able to pull up the @jonathanchef.com calendar.

I just started having an issue this morning with my 4.3 S3 where my Google accounts will sync and the calendars will show up but then they disappear after 10 seconds. They don't even show up as an option to display in the default calendar on the S3. What could be causing this?

I have five calendars on my Google Calendar : Personal, School, Finance, Work and Tasks. I am only getting Personal and Finance on my Epic for some reason. I am not sure why this occurred but I have not figured out a solution and its getting very frustrating since I bought an Android phone almost specifically for the easy google calendar integration. Any ideas for correcting this solely for the Epic?

I have recently started a job that uses Google Calendars too and so have imported these into my account. However, when I sync them, the colours of each calendar do not match the colours on Google Calendars online. My original 3 calendars colours are all correct, but the recent ones I have added all appear red on the Desire's stock calendar app instead of the colours I have assigned.

Syncing with google calendar. I have a Macbook with iCal configured to match my Google calendar account. The two sync together with no problem. I tried setting up my HTC Desire to sync with my Google account which should give me three way sync but I get the following problem:
I open Calendar on my phone, I try to add an event, a message appears saying: YOU HAVE NO CALENDARS. Ont the settings side, if I hit MENU then MORE and I choose CALENDARS I can't see my Google account. If I hit SETTINGS there is nothing to add my Google account. If I go to the ACCOUNTS & SYNC settings, I see my Google account, but when I hit my account, the data synchronization theme only shows SYNC CONTACTS and SYNC GMAIL, there is no SYNC GOOLGLE CALENDAR (is this normal).
I had Syncmate installed on my macbook and had it configured on my Desire, but it didn't sync the calendar either so I deleted it from my accounts. Could this be causing my problem or does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
