Jun 1, 2010Since the 2.1 OTA update, my Droid Eris has been a little slower and little buggy. Which I'm not that concerned about. But today, I cannot drag down to unlock my screen. When I hit menu, it does nothing. Is there another way to shut down the phone when you cannot unlock the screen?
'Sorry if this is an utter newb question, but I think if I can power down an restart the phone, I may be able to unlock my screen.

Feb 7, 2010Other than downloading Dolphin Browser, which I may be the only one on here who doesn't like it, is there a way to keep the notification bar locked on top of the browser. I like to see the battery life and time and such.

Dec 18, 2009Regarding the lack of Predictive Text or XT9 on certain applications: I contacted google with the following bug report:- Steps to reproduce the problem. Verizon Droid Eris (stock, 1.5 i think): tap the magnifying glass to search the web. use the 9-key phone pad method of text input.
What happened."XT9" text input is locked. only "ABC" or "abc" available. What you think the correct behavior should be. All android applications and functions that accept text input should support XT9 predictive texting for the 9-key phonepad and compact-qwerty. The google folks said the following: "Android does not contain a T-9 input method by default. Please report this bug to HTC, owners of that particular piece of software."And then HTC said the following: Hello Ben Thank you for contacting HTC technical support about the abc/xt9 being greyed out. I have checked on this for you and found that is how the device is set up when using these areas on the apps. There is no way of changing this and I do apologize for that. When entering google searches and also browser addresses predictive text is not available for input. If you have any other questions feel free to reply. HTC Droid Eris :: Decline Call When Phone Is Locked
Nov 29, 2009This will be my first of many questions....when my Eris is in lock mode and a call comes in there is no option to decline the call. The screen says "slide to unlock the phone and answer the call" but if I want the call to go to voicemail I Have to let it keep ringing. also how do I get music from Itunes into the Eris?

Sep 3, 2010So the packaged YouTube app will start playing a video and lock somewhere close to the beginning. I was trying to play something this morning and I would get somewhere between 7 and 10 seconds before it just stopped. I had to back out and try again.
Well after trying it 3 or 4 times with no luck, I finally went into my browser and got in through there and it was fine. So after this fiasco which was about 5 or 6 minutes tops, I noticed that my battery had drained 15%! 15% in 5 minutes! Thats so broken!

Nov 13, 2009I am always changing the volume accidentaly, especially while I am streaming Pandora or slacker when my screen is locked. Also I keep accidentaly turning my ringer down. Is there a way to totally disable the volume buttons or at least make them less annoying?

Mar 12, 2010I've tried AutoLock and LockBot and maybe I didn't set an option correctly, but I can't seem to get a password or pattern unlock after a reboot/power off/on cycle.Both work fine during normal power on operations, but when I power cycle the phone it just comes up with the normal swipe unlock right into an open Eris with no password/pattern required. Kind of defeats the purpose by allow a bypass of the security.Maybe I'm missing something here or having a Homer moment.

May 23, 2010Just wondering, on 1.5, the Ringer/Alerts volume was locked together so however loud the Ringer volume was, the notification volume would be the same. Since upgrading to 2.1 OTA, they are no longer linked together. Is there any way I can link them back together so they are they same volume without having to individually change each one? It's kind of annoying when I set my Ringer volume to low, and all of the sudden I get a text and it's almost 3 times as loud.

Dec 30, 2009Whenever I turn on Pandora then lock my phone, it will finish the current song then stop. So I have to keep the phone awake, or keep unlocking it to keep Pandora playing. Has anyone else run into this issue, and does anyone know of a remedy?

Feb 9, 2010I'm trying to run the Android Notepadv3 app on the Motorola Droid. When I am creating a new note, if I rotate my phone so that the view should switch to horizontal, or if I open it up so the keyboard is exposed, the app freezes and crashes.
I haven't modified the program in anyway from Exercise 3 solution (http://developer.android.com/resources/tutorials/notepad/index.html). Any ideas why this is happening?

Jul 2, 2010Is it possible to continue sending a text message after I press the red lock key? I keep sending messages and putting my phone in my pocket and then twenty minutes later will open my phone and realize it never sent. Is there any way to press send and then be able to immediately press the red button to lock the screen?

Jul 14, 2010Seeing as Motorola is locking down the Motorola Droid X and likely the Droid 2, what should I replace my Moto Droid with? I've been totally happy with the phone to the extent that I tell people it's the coolest thing I've ever owned in my entire life... that's 51 years for you youngsters. I'm of course on Verizon and will stay with Verizon. I've paid zero attention to any phones other than the Moto Droids. Alas, lockdown is not acceptable. So now I have to go through the whole learning process all over again.
