View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using Handcent since I've had my Desire, but since the last few updates it seems to have developed a fault when sending the same sms message to multiple contacts. If I send a message to say 3 people, it either force closes, or comes up with the error message not sent. If it comes up with the latter, the messages are queued & sent 1 after the other. I was able to do this no problem before, so has anyone else experienced this in Handcent?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Android, and have the Nexus One. Before getting it, I was planning on getting the Nokia X6, which has a very cool widget that shows pics of your contacts in a row on your home screen, and allows you to scroll through them.
I assumed there would be a widget like this for Android, but can't find one. All I've found are ways to put a single contact as a shortcut on the desktop, or a few contacts together. I really want it to be compact and scrolling though. Any ideas?
Here's a pic of the X6-- you can see the scrolling contacts widget at the top.
For whatever reason, on handcent sms, when i type in a contact to message, the same contact shows up multiple times. it looks like it's just facebook contacts that are getting duplicated. i tried turning off the "show social network contacts" in the settings, but when i did that it didn't show any contacts after typing in a name.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi was using handcent sms all fine. until yesterday when i updated the app. my contacts name shown in the app disappeared!!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI promise I searched. I also looked at the "Here are the similar threads we found:" suggestions.
Anyways. Just got a Moto Droid. Downloaded Handcent SMS. It's great. However the ONE thing I can't figure out, is why do SOME of my contacts have their Facebook pictures, and others don't? I have "synched" with Facebook multiple times. The contacts I have saved have the exact same names as their Facebook profiles, so it should pop up, right?
For whatever reason, some of my contacts don't notify me when they send texts. The pop-up box shows up, but no notification at the status bar and no sound. It only happens for a few of my contacts and others work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have no desire to root my desire. However, wandering around here and asking a lot of stupid questions and getting most answered with a great deal of patience has led me to wonder: 1) Can you get scrolling calendars other than the Sense one, without rooting? (I can't find any - I like the CalWidget big one, but it wont scroll). 2) Can you do anything to the main appearance other than change the background, without rooting? I've seen talk about the app 'OpenHome' - but on the market it's marked with low stars as buggy. 3) On 2 - can you remove the names from below the icons? Change the icons (e.g. with a theme) - without putting things into folders? 4) Can you remove options without rooting? E.g. my photo sharing (I've returned to the basic app, as gallery had a few bugs, e.g. with the camera) has 12 options to share (I had more, but I uninstalled different twitter apps and got rid of a few - I still have two facebook shares, peep and tridroid etc), which means scrolling through to find. On the gallery app, which had no scroll for sharing options, some were pushed off the screen. Is there a way to limit it just to the ones I'd use?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHowever I have got one major problem which is that since getting it I have developed a really painful wrist (no schoolboy humour please). I hold the phone in my right hand and tend to use my right thumb for scrolling, selecting on the screen and pushing the buttons at the bottom. I have developed a persistent stabbing pain over the nobly bit on the right side of my wrist which gets worse after I have been using the phone for a while. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me getting old?
View 8 Replies View RelatedProbably me being picky but I've noticed when scrolling through menus or web pages the images are blurry until you take your finger off or the image has stopped moving in which the image re-adjusts it's self.
My Hero never had this issue, much more smoother looking when scrolling. I just wanted to check that others where experiencing this and that it was the norm or not?
Does anyone else suffer from slow scrolling? For instance on the list of applications and on a large message thread the scrolling is very laggy and jerky. Surely this shouldn't happen with it's 1Ghz processor?
View 5 Replies View RelatedRecently dived into the Android world, buying myself a HTC desire about 2 weeks ago.
So far, I love the setup, features and feel, the only thing I'm a little worried about is a little bit of lag.
I know the phone is renown for its processor speed and RAM, but scrolling through things like my SMS threads, the application list, and Friend Stream it is a bit 'jittery' and a little laggy. Every now and then an application like Facebook or the SMS application will crash on me. And I know I'm a rather fast texter, but when I'm texting sometimes the phone cannot quite keep up with what I'm writing.
I have no unusual applications installed and do not use task killers.
Is this normal? Or might there be some reason why its functioning a little slower than it should.
I installed Handcent and i'm happy with it, but one thing is bugging me.When i get a message, i get it twice, once with Handcent and once with the original message application. So i get the same message tone twice AND to message notifications. How do i turn off the "original" messaging app?

A while ago I got rid of Handcent because it was very laggy following updates.Having heard this had been fixed, I have downloaded it again and it's no longer laggy which is great. However, it is draining the battery. I know this because I've had the System Panel monitor on, and the history shows that the CPU usage for Handcent is high for about 15-20 minutes after I send a message (as opposed to the stock, which just goes down as soon as I've sent a message). Is there a setting somewhere on Handcent that I'm missing, that's keeping the CPU usage high?
View 22 Replies View RelatedI installed Handcent and then decided I didn't need it. So I uninstalled it. Since that various apps etc launch and give me the option to use Handcent or the Default app. How do I reset this, so that handcent isn't mentioned and the apps etc open correctly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor some reason Handcent keeps force closing all of a sudden. I haven't noticed this before & its happened about 4 times.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHad my desire for about 4 months now, tres happy with it, one of the first apps i downloaded to use instead of the stock was Handcent for SMS.Today I take it out to send a text and the conversation screen is blank! Can't find texts anywhere - including if I go into the traditional 'messaging'.And then to top it off, I send a text to my sister and it goes to my wife!? Despite the conversation window showing the correct name and profile photo.Anyone else had any issues with Handcent? Reading other posts, I now know that its also a battery drainer, so I'll be uninstalling it, but I'd like me messages back first!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just updated to the latest version and it now supports different led colours.
View 47 Replies View RelatedI posted a while ago about handcent (great sms program) and my thoughts on it clashing with the mail scheduling peak/offpeak, after installing 2.2 on and using only STOCK apps all has been well. But I installed latest handcent again 6 days ago and the stock mail app connecting to my exchange 2003 email server has stopped working for scheduled and peak times.I have uninstalled 2 days ago and i still have to manually start and stop the manual/push every morning and night. the only way i can see this fixing is doing a factory reset (which i am sick of doing)handcent have not commented about this and I am baffled as to why handcent would /could affect this process.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having a bit of a problem with the led function on the HTC Desire Z with Handcent. Coming from a HTC Hero, whenever I get a new message my LED and trackball would flash continually until I opened the text message. But now on the Z the trackpad and LED will flash for a while then stop. Is there a way of having it like the Hero?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHas anyone actually managed to change the colour of their LED? Handcent (the SMS app) gives you options to not only change the colour but also the frequency of LED flashes. I have set it up a few times but every time I get a text message, it is he usual green, slow flash - and even then it doesn't always work. Sometimes I look at my phone with no LED flashing at all, pick it up to do something else, then notice there is an unread text..
View 4 Replies View Relatedi use handsent for my messages just now but when i get a message read it then when i unlock the phone again i still get a message received message and the only way to delete this is going into the standard message icon and read it again.Only small problem but its annoying.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to have a original Desire and could change the color of the LED when I receive an SMS on Handcent. I now have a Desire HD and cannot change it. The options appear but they seem to be grayed out - does the HD not support different colors or is this a Handcent issue?
