My desire's connection to my gmail account seems to have stopped working. Items are not appearing in my inbox although bizarrely I do get a little number 1 next to my mail account name when open my inbox!? This isn't the first time its happened either, the last time it went on for several days then just started to work again.

I keep having this problem with my Moment where it will refuse to do data connections. Sometimes rebooting helps, sometimes it doesn't. It happened three times today, and I was ready to throw my phone out the car window. It's happened on and off since I got the phone 2 months ago. I hoped it would go away after I updated to 2.1, but no dice. My wife, who doesn't use the phone as heavily, doesn't have these problems. Some days (like today) it seems worse than others. I see scattered forum posts about "evdo lockup" and "cdma lockup", but no real idea of how to diagnose what the problem is, and more importantly, whether it's worth taking it back to Sprint and trying to get them to do somethin.
View 19 Replies View RelatedRunning 2.1 dd03. I've had a few issues, the worst being-
- Occasional complete data connection loss with no 3g/1x icon (never with 1.5)
- Google voice search works from the soft keyboard but prompts "server problem" from the widget.
- Tower based location puts me 20 miles away from home in the same place all the time (cj05 days are here again).
- Phone turns on by itself when charging and occupationally unlocks and stays on (never in 1.5)
- Phone seems to heat up more and burn battery more rapidly (vs 1.5) when in low or no signal area.
Here's the new one I had this morning. I received a call, but when attempting to answer dropped/lost the call. I went to the call log and re called the number, connecting with the other parties voicemail. After leaving a message, I hung up with the red hard button. After a short time I tried to call again, but the phone wouldn't connect (stayed on dialing). I pressed the red button to cancel the call and then pressed again to turn off the phone. The screen would not turn off. I could navigate the home screen and pull down notifications, so it wasn't locked up, but I couldn't turn off the screen. The red button would quit apps, so its press was registering, but a long press didn't bring up the power off menu. I had to pull the battery to power down. This is a long way from a release OS version. Fix soon.
Ever since the 2.1 OTA update that I received back in July, my phone has been burning through the battery quickly and places that I usually get a 3G signal I now get no signal and the big X in the signal bar.

When I re-synced it, this was successful, but all my existing Contacts went haywire and my existing Sim contacts became invisible.
View 3 Replies View Related1. I connect my phone to my PC and copy mp3 files to the phone's sd card. But then immediately when it's done it's all gone again! The files just don't stay there.
2. Taking photos, lots of them age getting corrupted.
Could this be a quality issue with the SD card?? Admittedly i got 32gb for only $50. Could it be as simple as that ?
Since Friday, my gmail won't sync and is saying no connection. Have any of you experienced this problem? How did you fix it? I have 2.1 on my Evo and this is the only gmail account I have. I haven't changed anything in settings.

Today I was enjoying my phone and sending pictures to email contacts without any problem, but suddenly I got this "No connection" problem, and I cannot manage to get round it
Have you any clue of how to repair it? I've checked it and my gmail account (from my computer) is OK.
I found the solution. Just have to remove the storage data and get a fresh new sync. Sorry
My gmail no longer works, I get a "No connection" message at the bottom and a Retry button. Get the same message when I push the Retry botton. I can connect to the internet with the browser app and watch YouTube videos, but Gmail still doesn't work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhile I was out today with "Mobile network" selected and an HSDPA connection I was able to update weather, view a Google Map, browse web pages and read GMail messages. However, when I replied to messages in the GMail app my replies were not sent. They sat in the GMail app with the word "Sending" shown in red in the Inbox. I tried toggling the mobile data connection off and on a couple of times, but still no joy. As soon as I returned home and reconnected through WiFi the messages were sent within a minute or so.Has anyone any suggestions as to what I might do differently next time?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am on the Nexus 5.I have already looked up about this problem online, but the fixes for this seems to be either a hard reset, a factory reset, or the YouTube trick, where one signs into their gmail through YouTube and fixes this issue.
I have attempted all three of these things, but I still can't add my gmail account. The "Can't connect to server" message still pops, even when trying to sign in through the YouTube app.
Recently, I came across the 'no connection', retry - error in both Google Play and Gmail on my rooted SGS2 with CM7. Haven't had this problem before, it just started out of the blue.
I have tried
- setting date/time to correct values
- clearing data of Gmail and Play app
- re-flashing gapps
- battery pull
all without success. The Gmail app seems still to be able to receive messages, just not sending. Also, the 'no connection' error pops up 95% of the time, but not always.
I keep getting 'no connection' messages when I try to access my gmail account. I'm wondering if something is messed up on the phone or what... seems able to access everything else.

My wifi is turned off and the 3G connection is also strong. With this issue, I cannot access the internet as the browser or the app says that there are connection issues
When I looked at the active connections on my wireless router I spotted a connection called "gasman". After a few minutes checking I realised that it was my Desire. Prior to recent 2.2 upgrade the connection name had been "unknown_ the MAC address". My wife's Desire does still connect as "unknown". I've had a fairly good look into settings and can't find anything that would name the connectioin as "gasman". Has anyone got any clues where I might find the name?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo Ive been messing with my contacts and exported them to Gmail where I edited them.I now want those contacts back on my phone as google contacts but don't know how to do it.In the people setting I currently have all my contacts saved as 'phone' but there are some errors. The ones Ive edited on Gmail have all the errors fixed.I have no contacts as 'google' in the people setting.Ive tried syncing with google (with contacts selected) but nothing came through. Could this be because I still had the contacts open in Gmail on my laptop ?I also tried selecting export from Gmail which created a CSV (or similar !) file, however this file was only a few bytes in size and when I saved it on the SD card and tried to import in people there was nothing on it ?So all I want to do is get the correct contacts from Gmail onto the people app on the Desire under 'google' contacts.I feel its something simple that im not doing right.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI checked the other "no internet connection threads" but I don't quite see the same problem as I think I'm having. I have a non-rooted Desire (Swiss Sunrise) and I updated to 2.2. I'm going on a week's holiday soon and I wanted to see if my Irish sim would work in my phone because the data roaming rates with Sunrise are extortionate (13.90 Swiss francs per megabyte!). Lo and behold, I put the card in and it works no problem! I rang my wife's phone just to check.
There was an alert that came up, asking me to select my home network and I chose o2.ie and I think this may be where things went wrong. Now I can't connect to the mobile internet network even though I have selected Sunrise in settings->wireless/network->mobile network->access point names. Can someone tell me how I can reset my home network to Sunrise?
I'm on 3 using froyoand cannot turn on 3g has anyone any ideas or fixes.I'm using switch pro widget which maybe causing the issue.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI am using my HTC Desire on virgin mobile and quite often find that it reports an HSPDA connection but no data appears. I checked the APN settings and I did not have proxy or port number, I now put in 193.30.166.4:8080. So I have 2 questions
Firstly what are the correct complete set of setting for virgin internet and MMS on Desire?
Secondly will these settings help solve the intermittent data issue, if not what will?
why my phone says my wifi at home is out of range? It is a private network and I for some reason the HTC Desire won't find the network.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently I've started facing a problem on my Desire. Sometimes it acts like the network is down, and the signal bar shows a cross. At that time when I tried another sim card, the network was working fine. Then after a while my phone starts showing network with the original sim. But it won't connect to the internet. It simply won't connect, although I am toggling the mobile data connection tick mark.
Right now the network has gone again, and I'm trying to get connected to it through either Automatic registration or manually selecting from the list of network providers. But I get the message "unable to connect to this network at this time"...

Must say I'm loving android, for the sheer ability to customise it, altough not brave enough to root yet!
Installed folder organiser and launcher pro plus cos I want to change icons and names of folders etc.
My problem is when I switch from sense to laucher pro, i lose my data connection widget/ shortcut and cant get it back. On my sense screen I have the power control widget, which gives me the wifi connection toggle and also a mobile web toggle. I want a mobile web toggle that works with launcher pro.
Downloaded the widgets pack from curvefish, but the APN on/off does nothing at all.
I have been experiencing a rather frustrating issue with the 3G connection on my Desire which seems to work intermittently at best. When on H or WiFi the connection is fast and I am very happy. However when 3G is connected it rarely works and I usually receive a message to say there is no connection at all! I am connected via Orange just in case this is network specific.

I have tried both WEP and WPA-2 security types (only two available) and I cannot see the wifi.
Is there anything I have to do on the phone?
Forgot to add - I am able to connect to my home wifi (bt homehub) but I am no longer at home.
