HTC Desire :: Hating Browser Txt Wrapping

Oct 26, 2010

Is there any way i can stop this? bytheway what im talking about is the txt wrapping when you pinch to zoom, its soo annoying because the page jiggs to the left or right as it changes the text orientation. personally i prefer the iphone method. Is there any browsers out there that i can download that dont have this orientation?

HTC EVO 4G :: Why Is Everyone Hating On Evo?

May 19, 2010

I've seen so many threads about the Apple fanboys and the Verizon fanboys bashing the Evo. Come on people the phone isn't even out yet.I'm not going to say that it's a better phone because in all honesty the only thing that we have is specs and videos. The only real way to judge a phone is after experiencing it from day to day. I've also seen people complaining about the bigger screen.LOLWUT?I'm a person that likes to have all the facts before I make a decision and I honestly don't know which phone is the best yet. Plus which ever phone I prefer is not the best phone out there but only the best phone for me. It's all subjective.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Hating SE At Moment

Aug 4, 2010

I own the SE X10 and have done for 2 months now, but since I only went for the phone based on the SE blog and their spokesman saying multi touch will come. But after 3 months of being on sale then they turn round and say that they made a "mistake" and the hardware is not multi touch compatible! But before that I also found out that the X10 only has just over 300mb RAM and Gingerbread that will be out next year wants 512mb as a minimum.Im in the UK and can get the Samsung Galaxy S for 379 and I can sell my X10 for around 300-350.The Galaxy does all I want but looks like an iphone and only has a 5mg camera, dont mention the Desire as most of my mates are getting them and I like the 4 inch screen of the X10.So is there any new phone in the pipeline over the next month or so to hit the UK or should I just go for the Galaxy and get a case so it hides the iphone'ness?

Android :: Wrapping Content Of Table Row

Jul 24, 2010

I'm adding TableRow objects to my view dynamically based upon how many items are in a collection I've loaded. Everything loads fine and works nearly as expected. The one issue I'm having is that the text does not wrap if it's too long for the screen, but instead goes off the side...........

Android :: OpenGL Texture Wrapping Flickers?

Jul 6, 2010

I'm drawing 5 rectangles with OpenGL. They are texture mapped, and use the following parameters/binding:

..................

When I start the activity, the shapes all flash as if the textures were supposed to wrap (ie, i see more than one texture per shape), then the screen quickly corrects itself. Is there some manual buffering I'm supposed to do while the textures get mapped and unwrapped?

Android : Does Wrapping Horizontal List View Possible?

Jan 7, 2010

I'm attempting to create a list view that shows clickable items that wrap horizontally much like the To/From/CC/BCC fields in OS X and the iPhone's Mail programs or like the TO field in Facebook's messages (really like most mail programs). My questions are: 1. Is there a way to do this with a ListView? Everything I've seen and experimented with is either horizontal scrolling or vertically stacking, but not horizontal wrapping. If there's a way, would you point me in the right direction as far as first steps to take to implement it? 2. Is anyone aware of an existing app with available source that has a view like this that I could look at as an example? The Google Mail/SMS apps just have single strings that are not clickable for those fields.

Android : How To Create A Wrapping Horizontal List

Jan 8, 2010

I'm attempting to create a list view in Android that shows clickable items that wrap horizontally much like the "To" field in the OS X and iPhone's Mail programs. They have a horizontal list of names that wrap vertically and each name is a separate object, the list is not just a single string. My questions are: Is there a way to do this with a ListView or some other type of AdapterView? Everything I've seen and experimented with is either horizontal scrolling or vertically stacking, but not horizontal wrapping. Are you aware of an existing app with available source that has a view like this that I could look at as an example? The Google Mail/SMS apps just has a single string in the too field that isn't clickable.

Android :: Linear Layout Horizontal With Wrapping Child Controls

Jun 2, 2010

Is there a property to set for Android's LinearLayout that will enable it to properly wrap child controls? Meaning - I have changeable number of children and would like to layout them horizontally like:
Example: Control1, Control2, Control3, ...

I do that by setting:
ll.setOrientation(LinearLayout.HORIZONTAL);
foreach (Child c in children) ll.addView(c);

However, if I have large number of children, last one gets cuts off, instead of going to next line.

HTC Desire :: Htc Desire Web Browser Mobile View

Jun 18, 2010

I got my Desire 3 weeks ago. At first everything was okay and the websurfing experience great. But during the last week the browser has been forcing me to view the sites i visit in mobile view, only some of them and unluckily the site i visit the most. I've had the mobile view setting unticked from the beginning. So thats not the problem. I've also tried to clear all the browser data and reset to default settings many times But nothing works. I'm starting to think that a factory reset is the only option, but I wanted to check if someone else has experienced this and/or knows a solution to this problem.

HTC Desire :: How To Log Urgent Browser App?

Apr 19, 2010

On the browser (standard and xscope), when login on to online banking a number of boxes need completing, however on the desires browser they are not referenced when you need to complete each one.click onto user name.A blank box appears for completion. User enters the user name. Then theres a next button to press for the next field. Click next. And another blank box appears! No indication as to what needs to be entered. This is espcially annoying when it asks for certain digits or for example the 6th letter of the password, and when entering payment details as you don't know what to complete where. It either needs the name of the required box above the box or as a background piece of text. Can this be sorted out urgently?? to me this is the biggest single problem of the Desire and is the only thing to have put my mate off buying one - the N900 displays the field name alongside the entry field.

For some unapparent reason, my default internet browser keeps crashing.

It will load the Google mobile homepage (and if I change the homepage then it loads that too), but if I navigate to any page then it says I have to force close it. Also, if I try to clear history then this crashes it also.

I haven't installed any new programs so I'm really stuck here.

HTC Desire :: Default Browser Or Switch?

May 10, 2010

I really like the default browser with the HTC desire. It seems fast and intuitive, and above all I love the way it zooms - formatting text to fit the window, and especially the way it seems to 'snap' to the edges of tables - great for reading news sites where the content is sandwiched in between loads of junk.

But I've never used a different browser on a smartphone, and I wondered how others compared. It's not perfect - swtiching between windows is cumbersome and there doesn't seem to be tabs - which means that sometimes pages can be doing stuff in the background and you'll never even know. And the menus and controls aren't ideal - it's all there but it's annoying having to hit menu then more before you can hit the 'home' key.

So are there any other browsers that have the speed, perfect layout, and intuitive feel of the default browser but better controls and other features? Would appreciate some recommendations of others to try
