What number do people have configured for the 'Call forwarding settings' in Menu -> Settings -> Call -> Call forwarding? It takes 10 secs to "read settings" then shows a random number I don't recognise under busy / unanswered and unreachable.

I'm writing an android application that collects cell signal strengths.I am having trouble getting the "current" cell signal strength, but I don't have any problem getting the "neighboring" cell signal strengths.To get the current cell signal strength, I created a PhoneStateListener and implemented the onSignalStrengthChanged callback.It works, but not very well.It seems like the signal strength hardly ever changes, and resolution jumps to only a few numbers.I would accept the answer that the resolution of the signal strength hardware is coarse, but when I use the TelephonyManager's getNeighboringCellInfo() method, it works much better.The signal strength readings from neighboring cells change frequently, and they have much better resolution.So, how can I get the current cell signal strength in the same way that I am getting the neighboring cell strengths?It seems odd to me that the functionality of the neighboring cells is better than the current cell.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a D-Link WAP set up for G/N and also set so that it does not broadcast my SSID. My new Hero is able to connect at work to our WAP (WEP security), but at home it can't find my WAP (WPA security). If I change my setting so that it now broadcasts my SSID it can connect, but what the heck? Why can't it connect if I've input the SSID and WPA code, but the SSID isn't broadcasting?

1. How to control and set the RTP on Android? 2. Which Codec are supported by Android for voice communication? and how to incorporate them?
We are able to record a voice from microphone and store it on SD card for a playback. The next step would be to link the outstream of real time voice with RTP also incorporating Codec
There seems to be a limit to the number of SMS that can be sent programmatically. It seems to be hovering around 70 to 100 messages. After a batch of messages, when I try to resend a batch I get a warning message "A large number of SMS are being sent. Press OK to continue or Cancel to stop sending" This requires user intervention and impedes the program from sending SMS. Is there a way around this error message? Maybe a way to turn off the warnings?

My friend has solved this problem with his HTC Hero. You're trying to connect to a WiFi network that is hidden. In other words, the name isn't broadcasted. In other words (again), your WiFi won't automatically find this network.
So you manually type it in Menu > Settings > Wireless Ctrl > WiFi Settings > Add WiFi network. You type in all of the details. No connection. As if it's not there. So you find that some others with their Android phones, have found success using HiddenSSIDEnabler from the Market. Removing the 'Remembered' network. Adding it freshly. Using HiddenSSID. Removing it again. Adding it again. In any order. No luck. onnecting to a non-broadcasting wireless network
As in android, after inactvity of screen off timeout, android screen goes off. So here android itself uses some activity observer, to know whether user is currently active or not. I need not every keystroke or touch event with details, just knowing that user is active and getting a broadcastreceiver after some timeout value. Does anybody know something related to activity observing ? View 2 Replies View RelatedSince updating to 2.2 recently, my phone interface when calling has gotten worse. It has the add call, hold, mute and speaker buttons on top of the number, so I cannot see who is calling. It also overlaps the bottom part.
That is not that bad, it is more preferance. The real problem is that I can not bring up numbers while in the middle of a call. This makes calling automated numbers, or more importantly, my voicemail.
Has anyone else come across this? If so, how did you deal with it? Is there a button I am missing? Or a new phone interface I can download?
Normally Iam getting Wi-Fi setting screen on the emulator by clicking on the settings->Wireless controls->wifi settings.I need to directly go to the Wi-Fi settings screen from my program when pressing on the Wi-Fi button which I had created.Contacts,Call Logs we can handle by using Intent.setData android.provider.contacts...........).Is it any way to connect settings sub menus/menu from android program.Please give me advise or sample code on this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having a bit of an issue with my new phone, A couple of times now I have hit the call button on the wrong person, (hand and eye coordination needs improving) and couldn't cancel it until I heard the ringing. I see the big red button "END CALL" but it seems to be disabled until the call has been connected.
Anyone even notice this or is there an setting to fix it? Please help me stop making embarrassing phone calls!

I know it's possible to end a phone call on the Desire by pressing the power button after enabling it in settings. But when I go to Settings/Accessibility I get a pop-up message saying, 'No accessibility related application found. You can download a screen reader for your device from Android Market. Click OK to install the screen reader.'If I press 'Cancel' I'm in the accessibility settings with a single grayed-out 'Accessibility' option. But no other options are available.

Tried my SIM in my old C905 and could send MMS message fine. The support lady from T-mobile said that I've got to take it to the T-mobile shop as it could be a hardware problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my desire for a couple of weeks now and loving it, just one point thats frustrating the hell out of me is why when sending a text message using the "phone" style keypad you can't disable the XT9 setting, I've turned it off in settings etc., and it will still default back to XT9 when you navigate away to add a smiley etc. Maybe I am missing something obvious! but I detest predictive texting - prefer to type my own letters. Any app that will sort this?

Strange, I thought but I set one up and it turns out to be the ScreenLock password. Usually the phone asks for a pattern to be drawn to unlock it etc etc now I have to put in the password I was asked to set up instead. When I go into the phone security settings I cannot disable the password or change it back to the pattern method...? I prefer the pattern method as it's much easier to input than the little keyboard to put in password, and I can turn it off when I'm at home.
