I need to get a couple of things for my desire to make my life a little easier and wondered if you kind people would point me in the right direction. I need to get (as cheap as poss) A spare charger for work And A spare battery. I'm not sure where to look and what to go for without electrocuting myself or as tempting as it sounds burning my works building down.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Desire a few weeks now and am resigned to the fact that I have to charge it regularly as I have it linked to my office Exchange server using push email. As I am on call for my job I need it on overnight as well. I always plug it into the HTC charger at bed time, but this morning I noticed something odd. When I woke up (still plugged in) the battery was showing 100%. As soon as I unplugged the charger, it dropped to 90%. I've seen a similar question on the forums but the circumstances were slightly different - anyone have any thoughts, duff battery maybe?

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust got a new Desire (ordered it ages ago but had to wait for the delivery with Super LCD) and sometimes, but not every time, I see that the battery drops anywhere between 7-9 percent moments after disconnecting the charger.
I'm curious whether anyone else has had this. Is this a calibration thing, or a problem with the phone, or the battery? Or an app? I'm using both Battery Indicator and JuicePlotter and they both show the same thing, the same drop. Curiously JuicePlotter tells me the drop sometimes occurs once or twice while charging in the night, too.
I'm a bit loathe to send it back to the shop after waiting well over 6 weeks for the thing in the first place, so I thought I'd check here first. I'm hoping it's just teething issues and will balance out in a few days. I got the phone about 4 days ago.

I've tried Battery-fu but I get an apn error all the time which stops the mobile data toggle working - which kinda defeats the object.
It would be handy to have mobile data ennoblement automated in case three battery gets low when you're not near a power source.
can anybody recommend a decent shoot em up for the desire, free or paid?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo this weekend was my first real world test using the GPS turn by turn for a long car ride (about an hour). I had everything all set plugged in and started the music player (not Pandora) running in the background while the GPS was displaying on the screen. I also had the bluetooth synced to the car. To my surprise, the battery started to drain. It was pretty slow but after about an hour around 5-10% of the battery drained even while plugged in. Do you think it is my after market car charger from monoprice (For only $1.46 each when QTY 50+ purchased - Motorola V8, V9 Series Car Charger for RAZR2 | Motorola It has been working great in the car for about 2 weeks with Pandora playing and bluetooth.
Anyone else experiencing battery drain while plugged in the car using GPS? I think I read someone having a similar situation but with the Verizon charger. I am also using the stock battery. If not, please let me know which car charger you are using with a link if possible. I can't continue using this one if there is one out there that will keep me charged in the car.
I bought a 3rd party battery charger. When it is plugged & charging my phone is froze. If I'm listening to the radio or music the app continues to work, but I but everything else is froze. Anyone having this problem or know a workaround?

Since I will be having a case on the unit, I dont want to be having to open the back cover all the time to replace the battery whenever its dead. maybe a good external battery backup might do the job.

An hour later my phone shuts off and wouldn't power back on. Red led was blinking for about five minutes then the phone powered itself back on. I checked osmonitor and it showed my battery at 0% and battery temp at 140f. Will the battery not charge if your using this phone or is my charger bad?

But I can not find an EXTERNAL battery charger. Google search only turned up a "universal" charger where the contacts are manipulated to match up with the battery. Not a good option. So i looked at it and battery is still red. And i am wonder what the heck. Everything is plug in where it should be.
Low and behold the chord connecting at the mini usb well let's just say the casing is ripping apart and the wire is exposed. I've had this phone for 3 weeks and this happens.
Verizon better give me a new charger. Also i've notice i always get Sense UI force closed and other apps force closed but if i close and start again it works.
I have my phone plugged in and it will pop up all of a sudden with fully charged, so I unplug it. then, a minute later, it all of a sudden says 50 percent battery. so I plugged it back in. and a minute later it says 100 percent again. then, when I unplugged it, it said 48 percent charged. why is this happeniing? any fixes? this is, by the way, my second phone- the first was classified doa, and replaced. We both let the battery run down completely before charging it up (which I was told by the Verizon rep was the "way to go"), and we have both been experiencing GOD AWFUL battery life. Strange battery behavior has included (but has not been limited to):
- Battery going from 100% to 5% after 5.5 hours straight of browsing, playing games, etc., followed by the Battery going from 100% to 5% after 5.5 hours of idle (with light texting and a few quick phone calls mixed in). Seemingly no consistency.
- Battery draining down to around 30% after about 8 hours off-charger with light to moderate use (a few web pages, a few apps downloaded, and about half a dozen texts). If this wasn't annoying enough, shortly after reaching 30%, the phone suddenly took a nosedive into the red, and warned me that I had 5% battery remaining.................

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust installed SkyRaider 2.5.2 yesterday and radio 2.15. Using Launcher Pro+ and updated the notification bar to have the circle indicator. The charge took almost five hours. (Which I see is a common thing). However, when I unplugged my phone from charging this morning (9+ Hour charge) the battery went from 100% to 93% in about five minutes. It seems like I am losing 1% every minute or so until I reach 93%. Then it kind of stays steady. CPU clock is running constantly at 600 MHz+.
