Just factory resetting my phone my app market is super slow, browsing is fast, and i am on a good wifi connection but the market is just taking agess to load. is the normal after a factory reset.

Massive problems with the market im experiencing, iv had my desire for 3 weeks, and no problems at all, UNTILL NOW, whats going on?
I go to search in the market, and type in dialer, it brings up all the customisable dialer choices, if i choose ANY of them, i go to pay, and everytime i get the error message "A server error has occurred,retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen" but it is only on the dialer packages.i can buy and download anything else fine,
Can someone test this out for me?
Iv reset my phone 3 times, and its the same thing evertime, WHATS GOING ON?
Also the market is running VERY SLOW on my phone.
I am trying to download a couple of apps from the Android market (not at the same time) and they are going painfully slow, if at all. They are showing in the 'currently downloading' frame but don't appear to be doing anything. I am using wifi to download the apps and I have never had an issue before. Could anyone help?

I have task killer advanced running and kill all apps. my phone is really slow when i switch home screens with the track pad as well..
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk, probably been talked about but it's very annoying. I have the 2.1 update and the firmware update that came a week ago. I like that they fixed the keyboard vibrate problem(where it would vibrate long once, and then every other vibration would be half the length) but the lag is still unbearable. How come the iPhone perfected the touch screen and when HTC made the Hero(years later), it comes out worse? I can't type as fast as on an iPhone, nor can I make calls fast enough. Why does it always take so long for the phone to go into "call mode"? Even though I have no programs running in the background it is slow as balls. I'll reset the phone and delete all my text messages. The keyboard is unresponsive for fast typers. I'll tap a button and it will lag and act as if I held it and puts a symbol instead. Anyone else suffer from this problem?
View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter having a few quirky things happen with my phone over the past week since I got it (lost time, notifications are intermittment), Verizon suggested that I Factory Reset my Fascinate. So now, not sure I am going crazy, but my phone seems slower. Just unlocking with the puzzle piece has a lag and moving from screen to screen seems to be slower.Should this be possible? I thought it would be the other way around. From what I recall, it was screaming fast before I did the reset. Should I do it again?
View 23 Replies View RelatedI am on stock motorblur 2.1. Just yesterday the phone started lagging hard. I took the battery out, it wouldn't turn on and would freeze at the M logo. Found out that now it will only boot up if I pop the battery out, put it back in, wait 10 minutes then hit power. My Settings physical key stopped responding period today. and I cant do a hard reset because in order to do that it restarts the phone and it freezes at the M logo. I tried to hit HOME and POWER when turning on but it wont even enter that service menu. It still lags like hell when I get it to even boot. No physical damage or anything. been working for weeks now perfectly.

So my phone has been super slow, lagging, kicking me out of the internet, no calls when people say they call etc. I talked to Verizon and they want me to do a hard reset. Is this necessary?? It scares me to possibly lose all my stuff. So if I need to do this then what do I need to make sure is backed up??
Would love some help with this b/c my phone is really starting to frustrate me. My husband was in the store yesterday, sent me a txt and when he got back in the car asked me why I didn't respond. By the time I got his text, wrote back and it finally sent he was back in the car! So yeah lagging is such a great thing!
Anyone elses market really slow? Is it google or the phone? If its the phone,would a lag fix help it?

Searching is fine, but when I click through an app, it takes a while for the info to show up. The same is true with the install page. Just blank white boxes for a bit. Is this common?
The download page also takes quite a while to show up and it shows all the apps I've downloaded and used so far as STILL INSTALLING.
I just got a BOGO with my wife for the Facinate. I switch from a fully rooted/ROMed Incredible. On both our phones, the Market loads and searches VERY slow on WiFi and 3G. My Incrediable loads/searches almost instantly while the Fasinate takes...3, 4, 5,..., 10secs at times. Downloads are slow too.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm stuck between a rock and a hard place (from what I can tell). Story as follows: Purchased a milestone from telus and unlocked in order to my current account. Previous SIM card was old and did not recognise Wifi, no data plan when phone first arrived therefore could not account sync with Google. New SIM card fixed wifi problem, data plan now on board. Still cannot sync accounts (can't establish reliable connection with server error message). Online research reco'd pulling out sim card/sd card which did not make a difference, and other minor setting variations all of which made no difference. Looks like a factory reset will resolve the issue but I would like to back up my SMS history as my understanding is that I will lose all SMS/MMS with the reset. (Other data is already backed up no problem). The dilemma is - apps to backup SMS history are available through android market. I cannot access android market as my phone will not account sync. Is there a way to dl an app online through my computer and then manually dump it to the phone? Is there a file where SMS are stored on the phone that will be recognized when the Milestone is connected to my computer? I feel like I'm going in circles(perhaps blindly) and would appreciate any geek-insight. I do not wish to root the phone as I do not have enough knowledge in this direction.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLong story: Went in, got my Vibrant, immediately downloaded a few apps to play/test the device in the store. I got handcent and barcode scanner. Went home, tried rooting phone, couldn't get into the recovery menu. Gave up on rooting for the moment and tried to download launcher pro, and immediately after it started the download it gave me a "download unsuccessful" error, regardless of whether I was connected via 3G or Wifi. I then tried downloading several other apps and got the same error. Afterwords, I tried clearing the market's cache, signing in/out of Google Talk, uninstalling the apps I had originally downloaded, rebooting the phone; nothing worked (and I was unable to reinstall the apps I had managed to install in the first place, due to the same error). I then attempted a factory reset and was unable to do that, given the error "No reset was performed because the System Clear service is unavailable." After going through tech support through everything I did, they asked me to do a hard reset of the phone, which I didn't realize used the same recovery menu as one must access to root the phone. Since I couldn't get into the recovery menu for whatever reason (I blamed my fingers at the time), I was told to go back to the store to swap my phone out for a new one. Did that, repeated the app downloading process but didn't connect it to anything other than a car charger, and the app store gave me the same error, and I'm again unable to perform a factory reset or a hard reset. I know it's not my fingers, though, because I was able to get into the recovery menu of a display phone at the store.I'm going back to the store tomorrow to swap my SIM out, since tech doesn't know what else to do with it, but I was wondering if you guys had any input.Short story: First symptom was all market downloads failed with error: Download unsuccessful. Second symptom was inability to perform a factory reset or a hard reset. Possible causes/solutions?EDIT: Problem seems to have been fixed by going to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > (menu) > Filter > All > Download Manager > Clear Data. Will update if anything fails afterwards.

The problem is, they had purchased apps installed and the Android market app loses track of this information when the phone is reset. My only solution to their problem is to go into my checkout account, refund their money and ask them to repurchase my app.
Am I correct in assuming that Google decided to only check the PackageManager on the device to determine if an app was purchased or not? Is there really no other means of determining that an app was purchased? Surely this information about the purchase is kept on a server somewhere (which is why I can see the purchase information with Google Checkout) Also, since the user of a phone must login with a Google account in order to use the market, can't you just correlate the user's purchased apps with their login account and bypass the phone altogether? I'm probably missing something, but I wanted to let you know its a source of frustration to have to deal with this when I consider this issue the responsibility of the market infrastructure.
I just did a factory reset because I have tried out bunches of programs and just wanted to start fresh, I did it all the time on all my old phones(palm and winmo) with no problem. It turns out that when you do a reset, not only do you loose all your programs but the phone has to be registered to your account. I got it back up in running, wifi works and so does making phone calls, all my contacts and e-mails are synced and I thought everything was good. I went to the market and it even shows me all the apps I had installed previously, however when I tell it to install something, it just stays stuck on the "starting download.." message...........
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have installed some apps from Android Market to my Galaxy y. I needed to reset the factory settings and all the apps in the phone was erased. I only wanted to delete the email account. I tried to go to Android Market to reinstall. But it won't get in my phone anymore even when I click on install. There is a button that says installed. I checked on "manage account" setting and none of the applications are there. From Android market, when I click on "My Library" I see all the apps that I have downloaded before.
Question: Is it not possible to reinstall these free apps again? If so how do I do it?
For some reason my desire is quite slow on my home wifi. On speed tests I get around 600-700kbit/s, whereas on 3g i get 1800-2000kbit/s. My other devices (laptop, ps3, ipod) dont suffer from slow speeds and can get around 12mbit/s. I've tried updating the router firmware and changing the channels but its still slow, even when my desire is right next to the router! Router is a netgear dg834gt.

View 10 Replies View RelatedSince about 10pm last night my dhd has become unbelievably slow. every key press (whether it's accessing a menu or typing a word) has a delay and even loading my inbox takes several seconds. the circular sync logo is displaying itself most of the time on the top right of the screen, so it could be something to do with that? i've tried rebooting the phone, going offline etc. but nothing seems to be able to fix it.anyone else had this problem with a desire or desire hd before? it worries me a little. i hate stuff like this...

View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed that the Desire seems to power off VERY VERY slowly, or is it just me? Literally, and with no exaggeration, I hit the power button on the phone to power it down at 10:38am, and as of 10:56am the thing is STILL trying to power off.
I don't turn the phone off very often, but every now and then it's worth it, but it's taking far too long and I keep having to pull the battery. Anyone got any thoughts?
I'm assuming theres an app that is causing all the bother, but I can't think what. Anyone know of any apps that have this sort of problem? If noone knows, I'm going to have to factory-reset the phone, and I really don't want to have to set it all up again.
Am currently running the deFrost FroYo ROM. Everything's fantastic, except...whenever I'm viewing a text message thread, it's slow to scroll through previous messages. Frustratingly slow. Is this a common issue with the deFrost ROM? Or is there something I can change / configure to resolve this?
