HTC Desire :: Video Playback - Widget - Program
Jul 1, 2010Anyway I have a couple of video's I'd like to watch and the only way is through photo's widget/program I know there are other players on the market, so what I need is one that has good functionality like being able to playback with repeat similar to windows media player. Don't need a player that needs a browser open to function or using up system resources.

Jan 4, 2010I am trying to find a way to create a widget and the program on the same app so that i can give the user the choice to add to the home screen either the dynamic widget or the normal program, same functionality for both except that the widget would run a service to update every x hours and the program won't. Similar to what "bbc news" and "weather bug" have done. I am guessing that something needs to be added to the manifest but i have not found any documentation for it. Can anyone help on this?

Nov 6, 2010Is there a way to toggle the apps we have on our home screens on/off? Right now I don't have a live wallpaper but when I do (I change wallpapers often), I'd like to show some people the phone colors without the icons on it.

May 3, 2010I was quite excited to have flash on my mobile devise and as I have an unlimited subscription to Lovefilm I was looking forward to watching the on demand movies for free. But I was disappointed when I was met by the message "does not support this type of flash". Is there an update or an app I can use? Lovefilm uses Flash Player 10.

My question is, when you click on the widget, it doesn't bring you to a full weather program like weatherchannel or weatherbug? Meaning like, in the "stock" weather widgets, if you click on them while open, it brings u into a weather program where you then have the option to look at a closer look or detailed forecast.

Aug 20, 2010all my contacts are google contacts with several linked to Facebook accounts.When I access my contacts through the People widget, all's good, I only see the google contacts (I've deselected Facebookers in the view menu). However when I access the Messages widget all my contacts are doubled up for some reason. I realise this list is also showing facebook contacts as well as google contacts but even the non-facebook contacts are doubled up.

Jul 22, 2010Recently my HTC Desire got damaged but fortunately I had copied and pasted all the data from my HTC Desire to my laptop. I connected my Desire to my Laptop in 'Disk Drive' mode and copy/pasted all contents/folders.
Now my Desire replacement has not yet arrived. Is there anyway I can access my 'Text' messages that were stored on my Desire in my laptop.

Sep 17, 2010I have an HTC Desire from Telus in Canada. In the last week or so I have noticed that my LED flash is no longer firing at all. Even when I set it the flash to be on. Is there a setting that I may have set that would disable it? Or is there a way to test if the led flash is still working? I would like to know, the Phone is only a month and a half old.

Aug 26, 2010I'm running 2.2 on my debranded Orange HTC Desire in the UK and assume that I have Flash player working but it's not listed in settings > applications. App Brain has it down as in need of update but I can't find it to check the version I have, and when I ask AppBrain to do the update it takes me to the Market page which doesn't find Flash to dl (US only I assume). Before I grab and install one of the .apk files can anybody tell me how I find out which version I currently have (or whether I have it at all)?

Obviously having hard time with people at the shop ("have you tried taking these pictures at night, maybe it understands that it is still daytime even if you tried it in bathroom"). My dumb brain would suggest that manual - flash always on (unless that 5% battery limit is not hit), automatic - depends on sensor income, off - no flash. Really hard to search for stuff like that in forums as usually "flash not working" refers to Adobe Flash.

Aug 11, 2010Today I carried out check to see if any updates were available. Much to my excitement I noticed that 2.2 was there so I carried out the download. I now have WiFi hotspot, flashtorch, 720p camcorder and applications sharing available in my apps list. The problem stems when I go to view just in TV or BBC iplayer and I am told that my device does not support flashplayer. I have checked and adobe flashplayer is there when I go to manage applications. When I click on it takes me into it but all options to click on are shaded and I cant do nothing about it.

I was looking forward to being able to play flash videos, after trying to play a few (from entensity.net) I can see the player, but pressing play results in only a yellow exclamation mark... Is there a solution to this or is flash support not quite there yet on android? (Btw according to the settings menu on the phone all software is up to date.)

Aug 3, 2010Just tested data receiving on both, a 57 second clip (of King Crimson!) used only 0.6 mb on the YouTube app, the same clip used 2.3mb on the flash, that's nearly 4 times as much. what reason is there for using the flash player at all? not running 2.2, locked to Orange network.
