View 12 RepliesThe clear plastic on my battery cover (over the camera) has a crack going right through the line of sight for the camera. Anyone know of a good place to get a (hopefully cheap) replacement rear cover/battery cover/phone back?

I m interested in x10 mini but if same thing happens with x10 mini in which the battery is fixed into the body of the phone if it goes fat then either the phone has to break or the battery(which will lead to leak) in both cases the phone will be damaged . . . considering I live in India where temperetues are upto 45 degrees in summer is it a wise option to go for the mini ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy main Google account is a "Google Apps For Your Domain" (GAFYD) account. I have my Gmail, Calendar, etc. on this account. Unfortunately, GAFYD doesn't include Google Voice. Following the Google recommended method, I set up a regular Google Account for Google Voice (see here: Using your Google Apps address with Google Voice - Google Voice Help) that has the same username (but remains a distinct account). I do not have Gmail on this account because that would create issues. I set my phone up with my GAFYD account, as per this link: Android and G1 Forums, Mods, Hacks, News, Downloads, Skins, Themes, and more! | ModMyGphone - View Single Post - Primary Google Account in conjunction with Google Apps Account on Android Phone
Most functionality is there. In particular, Google Voice works with Gizmo and Sipdroid. However, there are some problems. Here's a thread discussing some of them: Anyone else having issues with your Google Apps for Domains account on the Droid? - Google Mobile Help
1. Cannot buy paid apps in the market.
2. Unable to use my maps layer in maps app.
3. Cannot login to google finance app.
I want to solve problem #1 - Cannot buy paid apps in the market. Many people are solving it by using another regular Gmail account. However, that's not working for me. I do have another regular Gmail account and I have been using it on my desktop computer for Check Out. However, Android on my Motorola Droid will not accept this account. I assume because it uses the same username as my GAFYD account (which is the way Google recommended doing it!). I have all my purchase history and credit card info in that account already. Creating YADGA ("yet another d*** Google account") is not an option.
I have a HTC desire and have droped it does anyone know where I can get a replacement battery cover from.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI took off the battery cover today when my phone wouldn't turn off. It was in shutdown mode for about 25 minutes, so I just pulled the battery. This is the first time I've taken the cover off. I've spent over 45 minutes trying to get the cover back on correctly. What a piece of trash! All the connectors are still there, but when I put the cover on, it not longer has a "smooth" feel, but its clunky since the top left side (near the volume key), as well as the top right side straight across. No matter what I do, those parts of the cover will NOT stay down. I've tried connecting the cover every different way, as well as pressing down on each connector after its on to see if I can find a lose spot. No luck. 45 damn minutes and I'm about to throw it across the room. Seriously, I love this phone but if something this stupid is going to happen, I may as well switch phones because this is the most frustrated I've ever been with a cell phone.
View 38 Replies View RelatedI got my DX almost two weeks ago, and immediately ordered the Motorola Car Dock. When you dock it, and it goes into car dock mode, it has a "My Location" button, which takes you to a google map with some overlayed buttons (some kind of skin, essentially). You can select "Nav" on that screen, but it does not take you to the Google Nav app, instead it opens up a dialog box, where you can enter your destination. Then it will work like Google Nav. It really stinks that if you return to the cardock home screen, to change your music or something, when you come back to the My Location> Nav, you will have to re-enter your destination.
Another huge frustration from the lack of integration with the Google Nav app, is when you use the standard Google Nav App (like set a destination, before you leave the house), and then get in the car and enter car dock mode, you can not access your current Nav through car dock mode. You can still get back to it, but you have to exit "car dock mode", and open the Google Nav App. Anyone have any solutions to this? If it were possible, the simplest thing would be to remove the "My Location" button and replace it with a shortcut to the Google Nav App. It does not appear that you can change any of the preset buttons. There is one button that you can set, but I have it set for Pandora, since I use it frequently.
I've made the mistake of dropping my desire and now it has a few scratches, particularly on the bronze part. Is there anyway to replace this cover or buy an official version of it? I already have the case for it but I dropped it when it was outside the case.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Desire for just over 2 months now and like to think I look after it - i.e. it doesn't get dropped or thrown about etc. However I've noticed that the rear camera lens cover is already badly scratched which is having a detrimental effect on any photos I take - they have a slightly 'misty' look to them. Quite disappointed by all of this as I owned a SE W880i for 3 years and the lens is still as good as the first day it left the box Just wonder if anyone else has experienced this problem and if there is a fix? I could pop out and buy another cover but I fear it would only last another 2 months and using a protective case isn't that appealing!
View 33 Replies View RelatedOrange are replacing my Desire, and I asked for a Black, but have just realized they told me to keep the BROWN battery cover.
Are they different or is it just the front? Will the Brown cover look stupid on a black? It looks black-ish, maybe a tiny brown tinge.
I have just noticed over the last few days that when I change my battery and put my battery cover back on that the left side in the middle is slightly raised. I have made sure that I have pushed down enough but no good. I have even bought a new battery cover but still the same problem.
View 5 Replies View Relatedbesides a seido case or any case... what are the alternative methods to prevent that camera from being scratched up? here are my thoughts
1. what if you used one of those screen protector and cut a circle to place onto the camera glass? will that degrade picture quality?
2. HTC Evo 4G Magnet Mount Conversion Lens, FREE Shipping, HTC Evo 4G PHONE Magnet Mount Conversion Lens what if you attached the included circular magnetic piece (kinda like a washer) to act as a spacer?
3. like the magnetic spacer, maybe add a small strip of rubber with adhesive on the back to raise up the top of the phone and create a very small space between the surface and the camera. similar to feets found under a laptop.
4. small adhesive rubber dots... like those placed on your laptop's bezel around the lcd
I bought my Motorola Xt531 about 2 months ago. Since then, I rooted it, uninstalled carrier apps, just the usual. Recently (like 2 weeks ago), I tried to take a picture with it, but in the moment I launched de camera app, a message flashed saying that the camera stopped responding (the exact message, in portuguese was "A camera parou de responder") and since then, all I can use when I enter the camera app (stock, or any other) is the front camera.
I tried reseting the phone, clearing app cache and data, and nothing solved the problem. Is it a hardware issue? (it never fell on the floor, or under water, nothing like that).
Hey all. I noticed in the top right hand corner underneath my battery cover on back it says the word void. Surely this is only meant to show If I have moved anything. Only had the phone 2 weeks.

No big deal..just a bad mold, it happens. I decide to plop it down and get an Otterbox. Same deal. Tried that one on the demo, and it fit. We go back and open a couple more and try them, same deal. The orange one was defective, but the others were not and fit the demo as well as his own personal phone. Our only assumption can be that there is something wrong with the molding on my Droid, not allowing anything to clip on.

During a video hangout, the audio randomly switches from "speakerphone" mode to handset mode. The video itself is fine. The other person's audio will get really quiet because it's coming from the handset speaker, and they will complain that they can't hear me anymore.
After this happens, I can manually hit the speaker button and choose the option to use the Speaker rather than Handset mode, and the problem fixes itself. However, the fix usually lasts less than a couple minutes. Within 1-3 minutes it will change back to handset mode. This happens even if the phone is sitting down on the table during the hangout and I'm not interacting with it and there's no chance for me to inadvertently press a button or cover up the proximity sensor.
I'm using an EVO LTE with a stock ROM w/ root if matters.
Some of us have had issues with the volume and power buttons being depressed by the case just fitting a bit too tight causing unwanted changes in volume or turning the phone off by accident. Some have simply cut out the button areas completely but I have found a better answer. Simply make two slits one above the case molded buttons and one below. This allows for the phones buttons to slightly push away the case molded buttons for a perfect fit. See pictures below. The case buttons still work fine.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was so excited when LPP updated a while back and added the option for additional rows and columns....but it didn't resize things the way I wanted. I had hoped it would be tweeked and it seems better now but I'm still having an issue with Beautiful Widgets on the full size Home Weather. It doesn't fit the entire information completely with temp, etc. without pulling it down to fit across about 3 rows...which makes it look huge
Anyone else have this problem? Or should I just accept it and use the smaller Beautiful Home widget? And is there a way to resize the text size under the description of the app? I can remove it and kind of like it without it...but was curious if I'm missing something
