HTC Desire :: Playing Games And Emulators - Multitouch Working Correctly?
May 15, 2010Whenever I use multitouch, as soon as my fingers get close to the same axis, they seem to snap onto the same axis. Is this normal, as it makes playing some games and emulators rather fiddly. Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk

Jun 2, 2010I'm new to the Android OS having been a Symbian (2nd phone is a Nokia N97) and Windows Mobile user previously. My question regards a copy of Family Guy (Something, Something, Something, Dark Side) which I purchased yesterday. The standard DVD also comes with a digital copy on the DVD which, when inserted into the drive brings up a choice of transferring the file to my computer to be copied over to my Desire as either a iTunes file or a Windows Media Video (WMV).Ideally I want to avoid the iTunes route as currently I have no use for that program on my system so I would like to be able to use the WMV version. When I copied the file to my Desire, it didn't play and the phone didn't seem to recognise it. Can anyone please give me advice on how to play a WMV on my Desire?

Sep 22, 2010Can anyone help? everytime I play a Youtube video on my Desire it plays for a couple of seconds and then Stops with the error message 'Sorry this video cannot be played, there was a problem while playing' I have tried allsorts to try and rectify it without success.

Apr 28, 2010just got my HTC Desire yesterday and after a quick play had the following issue. I buy a lot of vinyl for djing and therefore like to browse online vinyl stores for new releases. Most of these sites have mp3 samples that when clicked open Windows media player and then play the sample. While browsing these sites on the Desire when i click on the MP3 icon nothing happens. Is there anyway to get round this problem so the files will play once clicked?

Jul 26, 2010I have just upgraded from an iPhone to the HTC Desire. I was looking forward to being able to play flash videos, after trying to play a few (from entensity.net) I can see the player, but pressing play results in only a yellow exclamation mark... Is there a solution to this or is flash support not quite there yet on android? (Btw according to the settings menu on the phone all software is up to date.)

Jun 8, 2010When I transfer HTC Desire videos from phone to computer, I can view the video but with no sound. This also happened with my old Touch HD. The sound works fine on the phone but the problem seems to be with the video. Has anyone else experienced this? It happened on both Windows 7 and XP. I have noticed the file type is .3gp. Does this need converting or something?

Nov 23, 2010I have a Ministry of sound radio and it has a usb port.I have pluged in the phone via the USB port and started to press buttons to see if this works. Sometimes it did play music from my phone and most other times it said 'Error'. Is there a way to so it play's all the time when connecting? I Don't want to play through a 3.5 jack as USB also charges your phone while playing your music.

May 21, 2010Liking the phone but the video playback is driving me nuts. I transfer Mp4s to the SD card, a new folder called Video and the phone sees them but only plays the audio. These Mp4s all work on my iPod Touch so is there something not right about them for Android? ie do they need reconverting?
They all have .mp4 as extensions and I have tried having the new video file on it's own on the SD card as well as trying it in the DCIM folder as suggested on another forum. Cheers for any help as I'm thinking this is all too much of a faff and I will have to get the iPhone. Shame as the HTC deal with Orange is very cheap.

HTC Desire :: Flash Stops Playing When Screen Off / Way To Fix?
Sep 20, 2010Just installed froyo on my T-Mobile Desire, and have been using flash to watch iplayer stuff. The problem is, if you want to listen to iplayer radio it stops playing when the screen is turned off, or if you switch to a different window. This is obviously to stop flash playing when its not used, but is there a way to maybe add Safe websites, or just turn that function off completely.

Apr 5, 2010Just got my new desire. Love it. Trying to watch some video on it. The videos came from get_iplayer (if that matters) and are 640x360 H.264/MPEG-4 AVC. I've tried several players, Meridian, mVideoPlayer, PlaysVideo, Media Player, built in player and I get audio but no video. Is it the video codec or are the dimensions too great and need to be scaled down a bit.

Jul 17, 2010I have now got Genres working in the Music player on my Desire but have hit a new problem. Track Order.
All the tracks in the folders on my SD card have track numbers, copied from the PC folders. This means that when I play an album on my PC it plays in the track order; essential for symphonies!
However in the Desire Music player tracks are sorted alphabetically; Astro shows me that the track numbers are there as part of the file name. I do not wish to created over 100 playlists.
Is there a way to get the Music player to sort tracks by track order?

Jul 12, 2010When playing music or watching video using the headphones that came with it, there is a lot of crackling and hissing. If you go back to the home screen, there is a high pitched whistling sound (almost as if you've placed a microphone next to a speaker and are getting feedback as a result.) I can't seem to get any FM radio stations either. I've tried three different sets of headphones as well as the set bundled with the Desire and all have the same problem. Is this a known issue or should I phone O2 and get it replaced.

Jun 12, 2010I have a brand new desire and was streaming a file from a webpage in bed last night, but the screen doesn't go completely dark, nor does it 'lock' - you can accidentally touch the screen and interfere with the playback. If I try to lock the phone it kills playback. I would really like to be able to lock the screen whilst media is still playing through the headphones.
