I cant play the videos i have recorded on my laptop as it doesnt recognise the 3gp format. How have you been getting around this as there are some i want to keep for memories but it is useless if i cant play them back on another device.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI emailed myself a video from my phone. Downloaded it to my laptop. its a 3gp extension file. What do I play it with? I suppose that if I manually take it off the SD card, it will be the same extension. How do I deal with these files? VLC, QuickTime did not play it. Windows Movie Maker did not open it either. On a Mac it worked fine and flawlessly.

I've copied them onto my computer, they have the correct file size but I think something has been corrupted when saving the videos on the phone. Any idea if there is an app that could fix the issue?

My question regards a copy of Family Guy (Something, Something, Something, Dark Side) which I purchased yesterday. The standard DVD also comes with a digital copy on the DVD which, when inserted into the drive brings up a choice of transferring the file to my computer to be copied over to my Desire as either a iTunes file or a Windows Media Video (WMV).Ideally I want to avoid the iTunes route as currently I have no use for that program on my system so I would like to be able to use the WMV version. When I copied the file to my Desire, it didn't play and the phone didn't seem to recognise it. Can anyone please give me advice on how to play a WMV on my Desire?

In my application, I record a sound through the microphone and then do various things with it, including playing it back using a MediaPlayer object. My code works fine when I use the 1.1 target, but when I use a 1.5 target I get this error when setting up the player:

It seems like Android isn't liking the format of my media, but I don't know why, since I just recorded that very format on the Android device. Here's the code that is throwing the error:

I've tried several players, Meridian, mVideoPlayer, PlaysVideo, Media Player, built in player and I get audio but no video. Is it the video codec or are the dimensions too great and need to be scaled down a bit.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen playing music or watching video using the headphones that came with it, there is a lot of crackling and hissing. If you go back to the home screen, there is a high pitched whistling sound (almost as if you've placed a microphone next to a speaker and are getting feedback as a result.) I can't seem to get any FM radio stations either. I've tried three different sets of headphones as well as the set bundled with the Desire and all have the same problem. Is this a known issue or should I phone O2 and get it replaced.

And maybe I thought it was just that portion but it wasnt the whole video plus all my videos play hic uppy now. Anyone else having the same problem? The application seems to run and record MP4 output file, but it is blank when I view it with QuickTime! I am wondering if I am setting up the MediaRecorder correctly. Also, expected to see a live preview because a Surface to display the preview was set . But nothing shows up. Any one have suggestions as to what could be doing wrong?

But today, I connected the phone to my PC and wanted to play a video. I got video with no sound. I tried several I recorded some at 720fps and some at VGA. Same results. Videos I downloaded from You Tube play fine. Just the ones I recorded on my phone. I have a relatively new HP running Widows 7 and have used Quick Time and Windows Media Player. Neither would play the sound. Anyone have a problem like this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI shot a video a few days ago on my new Evo phone. I was holding the phone vertically. It never occurred to me that I was supposed to hold it horizontally. What ended up happening is that when I put the memory card from my phone into the computer, it's showing the video sideways. I need to flip it 90 degrees before I send it out or post it anywhere. I tried to send it to Windows Movie Maker but as it's a 3gp format, it won't take it. I tried searching through my Quicktime (not Quicktime pro) and there's nothing I can find to flip it 90 degrees. After a lot of searching, I found a bunch of sites that tell me to convert the video to a format that Windows Movie Maker accepts and then flip it the 90 degrees in WMM. I'm a little over my head at this point. I don't know how to convert this file and I don't want to download programs that won't work. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

I've also tried flashing another Rom but the same thing happens.
As per title, recorded video sound is very bad on my Magic - the sound is very unclear, with a lot of disturbances etc is this normal or did I get a faulty phone.

The so called "default video player" has been uninstalled though. Have cleared cache, clear defaults, clear data for the browser but still do not get a prompt to choose a video player while playing videos from the browser.
Also installed the "Default App Manager" to check for the default video player. However, it indicates no defaults to play any videos (either from file or streaming videos).
(If I play a stored video from phone or SD card, I do get the prompt to choose a video player. But do not get a prompt if playing any video in the browser.)

I have a problem with my desire 500, I think it's a bug of jelly beans 4.1.2, records video with sound and voice messages with very low whatsapp are at a very low volume. I have tried others and have the desire 500 styesso bugs. is a problem of htc or jelly beans 4.1.2?

I want to watch movies from my laptop without connecting the laptop to a tv. I imagine it like this: Variation a) The phone accesses my files via WLan and plays the movie via tv out ... without converting the movies first Variation b) My laptop plays the movie and streams it via WLan to the phone which relays it to the tv.
