May 12, 2010Is there an app of some sort that i can use to download maps onto my phone, to store on my sd card? i only use the Internet through wi-fi, and i have read on all the specs pages for the desire that it has an internal GPS chip.. so can i use it without the Internet? i know that Google maps wont work unless you have the internet on at all time, and i have searched through the app store for a map (of Australia, since that is where i live) but to no avail.

Aug 5, 2010Got my new Desire yesterday and when I'm trying to download an app, I click install and a box opens to say download will start soon, however when I go into downloads and open whichever app I want it says "starting download". Doesn't go any further than that? I waited 20 mins earlier and nothing happened! Can anyone offer any advice please? I have changed the SD card and although I don't think this will make a difference I thought it best to mention.

Oct 24, 2010I wanted to download fue things from market, but I coulds it just stopped and showed Download Unseccesful, I searched in net how to get rid of this problem and it looks like you just have to clear cache for Gmail ap and Download manager and it did work, but now agien I cant and even if I clear cache or reboot it dont work. Nov 18, 2010I have been receiving messages for a couple of weeks about an update but each time I tried to update it, it said it was corrupted and unsuccessful. I tried again yesterday and same thing twice but now I occasionly & randomly get a msg when checking for updates manually that there aren't any available. Later on, back comes the original message that an update is available. What's happening? If I'm having trouble getting the update is the update even worth having. Any clues anyone?

Jul 16, 2010I'm a newbie to the Android world and HTC Desire's. I got mine on Monday and am very happy with it apart from that when I am at work and using the WiFi here, I cant download any apps. They just sit there and says starting download. I then turn off the WiFi and put on Data Connection and they still dont download. But when I go home and am connected to my WiFi, it all seems to work.

Oct 26, 2010Everytime I try to download an app, it just stays on the "starting download" screen with the flowing bar. Nothing happens! Sometimes it says unable to download or something similar. I've updated to 2.2 on T-Mobile and dont remember ever having this problem before. It's really frustrating.
I currently cannot download anything, either via wi-fi or Mobile network.

It appears that it only wants to download some applications with most kicking back a "Download Unsuccessful" including some that I have purchased before.
I am running 2.1 -update 1 right out of the box software number 1.19.161.5
I've tried a factory reset with still no avail.
I'm trying to download it using my wireless router which I'm sitting right beside so signal is no problem.

Aug 15, 2010Up Until two days ago the market app worked fine then for no apparent reason now only goes as far as starting download and goes no further. I have enen tried a factory reset losing everything but it still wont download anything. This is the same over wifi or 3g. Any one got any ideas? Does yours still work?

Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?

Jun 25, 2010I went to purchase the acircuit live wallpaper app. The transaction failed to go through because my bank blocked it, as it was less than 1. It is now sitting in my list of downloaded apps in the Market app (not the installed list) and it says purchased. There is an install option, which if pressed tries to download it again, but fails because it has been blocked. I don't want the app now and just wish to clear this from my download list. I have installed an unistaller app, but this just shows a list of the installed apps. Can anyone help me with a solution to get rid of this from my app downloads list in the Market app.
