HTC Desire :: Still No Bluetooth Voice Dialling In Official Desire Froyo
Aug 1, 2010I have posed this question in some threads but as yet have made no progress.I am just curious as to why HTC appear to have left out the Bluetooth Voice Dialler function that can be provided by the Froyo 2.2 O/S. I believe this feature is present and enabled in some of the cooked roms and also in the Nexus one Vanilla 2.2 so why not here?If I have missed somthing simple or if anyone is aware why it is missing or how I can activate it that would be fantastic!

I was having black SLCD (RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_T2_Radio_32.41.00.32 U_4.08.00.09_release_137222_signed.exe) and have solved the problem right now and do OTA update to Froyo and there is System Info.:

Aug 3, 2010I've been reading this forum for awhile but can't find a solution to my problem...
1. I rooted my 2 HTC Desires 2 months ago, what went fine. Have been able to install apps that request root. And on 1 Desire I have put the Nexus1 Froyo OS.
2. Now when receive a OTA: error
3. I tried the manual update: error
Both phones came from HTC directly, any Sim Card is useable on them.
I first get the error "E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command", then I get:
"Verifying update package
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted."

May 14, 2010I am new to the Droid world and was curious as to if there was a real competitive Voice Command app, similar to MS's? I came over from ATT using Win Mobile devices. While I disliked many things about WinMobile, I really liked the Voice Command. It wasnt perfect but I liked using it. I even thought it was great how it would read Text messages aloud to me through the speaker when I received them.Is there anything that can do that or more for Android phones yet? I know they have the basic Voice Calling thing but is there anything else? Maybe even something that will read text messages outloud when they arrive?

Aug 30, 2010I know there was a thread about it on here before, but I cant seem to find it. I'm just wondering how to get it working properly on my 2.2 Desire. I'm in the UK. I know there was mention of changing the language or something?? And I remember someone gave a list of all the actions they had gotten it to do so that would be useful as well as what to say to get those actions.

Jul 24, 2010Trying to get the 'Voice to text' trick working...Voice search working installed the HTC_IME_hi_25.apk and long held to select the input method. I can see the little mic next to the space bar but...when i press the mic key nothing happens! if i hold too long it goes to settings. Have seen on youtube I should get a 'speak' box come up after i press the mic, but nothing. tried uninstall the HTC_IME_hi_25.apk and voice search, but still not working. Have ticked and unticked boxes in the HTC_IME_hi_25.apk setting ... does it matter?

Nov 19, 2009the voice comman feature of the eris is pretty interesting. long press the green call button to bring it up, here are some suggested commands that came built into the my touch some work, some dont, if you try one let us know if it works or not.i do know that you can say "open (app name)" and it will open any app on your phone, it's pretty good, even got bonsai blast.

I thought you had to go in and active the app by pressing it to use it? However it never gets anything right and it's embarrassing to use in public and pretty useless, and it uses about 2.6MB of the tiny internal storage of the phone. So I tried removing it, but it doesn't even seem to be possible. There's just an option to remove updates. Do I have to wipe the phone completely to get rid of it?

Has anyone figured out a way to do this?I know I can pull up the contact list manually and click the map icon for them and then get into navigator that way, but hoping for a simpler, voice driven way to do this.
