I'm about to migrate from a HTC Touch Cruise (WinMo) to a HTC Desire (Android).I've got a 6GB Micro SD card that's formatted as FAT32 with music, etc. on. Will it run OK on the Desire, or will it need formatting?

View 16 Replies View RelatedAs I had a Nokia N85 laying around, containing a 8GB micro SDHC class 6 memory card, I was planning on using this on my desire, since that only came with a 4gb card. However, I formatted the 8GB card in windows, (to fat 32). (I've might have formatted the partitions and everything as well). But either the Desire or PC cant find my SD card at this point. When I put the 8gb card into my N85 and then connect the N85 to my PC, the computer finds it. My N85 has no problem locating the SD card either. What to I have to do to the SD card to be able to use it with my Desire?

It is actually 31.7gb according to my laptop. when i put it in my desire, it will not see it, or just tells me that the sd card needs formatting, then won't format it. Is this because the card is too slow,or is it an OS problem,that will be resolved when Froyo is released?

There is a folder Backup including several .arc -files.Is there a way to start the restoring process manually OR is there a way to handle those files on the PC?It seems, that winzip does not understand the content of those .arc -files.Any hints to how to proceed?

After saving my contacts to the SD card, resetting the phone, then importing them all back, the numbers are now in the form of 012-345-67891. Does anyone know how to remove the hyphens?

Running 4.2.1 Supernexus on an i9100, I had a 32GB Micro SD card in the phone and when I had it connected to my computer I formatted it, except I foolishly set the format to NTFS. Now android won't read it (doesn't show up in storage) nor will it mount it when connected via USB so I can't put it back to FAT32/exFAT
Installed Paragon's NTFS mounting tool which mounts the drive but it's still not showing up in storage or being mounted via USB.How can I format it back to FAT so it will be read by windows and/or android? I'm surprised there is no SD Card formatting apps out there.

I have upgraded to a 16g micro card. Is there anything special I have to do when I swap it out with old card. Maybe 2 examples would be good. 1 with transfering files. 2 without transfering files. Just got the Evo a week ago, so I only have a few pics.

So to cut things short, is it possible to take a Micro Sim card from AT&T put it in a adapter and put it in say, a nexus one or captivate? What id do is take the no-contract pre-paid data plan of the iPad 3G, most likely the 200MB/month for $15 and use Google Voice and other various VoIP clients to use as phone and GV for texts. I pretty much have WiFi where ever I go and pretty decent AT&T 3G in my area. Yes I know, it's just not that simple. Id have to change the APN on the device to att's broadband. Tweak a heck out the phone. 1.) Is it possible? Ive seen it done for a data only iPhone 2.) It is legal right?

My device appears to recognize it in Settings | Storage since it shows Total space for the SD card as "29.71GB". However, I cannot figure how to browse to the card nor how to move files to it from within the Android OS. From within the My Files app, I cannot change directories from what appears to be the built-in memory since the "Up" icon is grayed out.
How do I access the microSD card by browsing to it and moving files to it?
Thinking of buying a new micro SD card for my phone. As in can I drag and drop copy the entire contents of my old micro SD card into my computer, then drag and drop copy the entire contents into a new micro SD card, and the applications will still work fine?
