Anyway of making bluetooth permanently discoverable rather than for the just 120secs it gives you?
How do i make the htc desire bluetooth discoverable for more than the 1 min it allows in the menu?
Can this phone always be discoverable?
I'm fairly new to the android platform but I'm getting the hang of it by the minute.I've previously owned a blackberry pearl, nokia e71, nokia n97.I've also used the Iphone 3gs, palm treo 500, samsung blackjack, htc tilt, nokia n95.From a wide range of smartphones, I must say, android is by far the fastest (when it comes to booting up, loading apps, viewing pages and maps, and just about everything else). The display is very crisp too. I am using the new google phone that is supposedly coming out next month in case you guys are wondering. Feature-wise, its lacking some of the essentials of a stock smart phone.but the Market is where you go to fill that void.So far, I haven't had any luck finding an app that will make my phone in discoverable mode all the time. There's a limit under your bluetooth settings of 106 seconds or so, but I would prefer it if there was no limit.Suggestions anyone?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'd like to establish a Bluetooth communication between an Android phone and a remote device. The class of the remote device is a basic one just a simple Bluetooth adapter. When I use the Bluetooth scan devices function, the phone recognizes devices from different class (ex. computer, phone, Bluetooth headset) but not this one.I tried it on a Samsung Galaxy Theos and a HTC Wildfire with Android 2.1 but I got the same result with both.Is that possible that the phone manufacturer or Android filters certain class of devices? Otherwise, is there another way to make this device discoverable?

View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is my first android phone and im having some problems with the bluetooth. Im trying to send my contacts over bluetooth from my old sony ericsson but it doesnt seem to be going smoothly, i would say its all down to me! Basically i have got the bluetooth on for both phones, the desire is set to be discoverable and i try to send the contacts via bluetooth on the SE. I get the whole passcode and accept the file which i have done, but then it says again about accepting the file. Ive tried it a few times and i have 3 bluetooth icons at the top of my screen now which i imagine are for transferring files which need accepting. Is there anywhere i can to accept them or close them down?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHow possible would it be to make them connect with WiFi / Bluetooth? Have them both ring when a phone-call comes in and make it not matter which you pick up? Stay connected to the internet on both phones when one loses signal? View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been using bluetooth lately to connect to my car and talk while driving. When I'm finished talking, and the other person hangs up, I can't turn my screen back on. Bluetooth must still be connected because my car radio won't come back on, almost like the phone call is still going on. Only way to get my screen back on is to take the battery out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have posed this question in some threads but as yet have made no progress.I am just curious as to why HTC appear to have left out the Bluetooth Voice Dialler function that can be provided by the Froyo 2.2 O/S. I believe this feature is present and enabled in some of the cooked roms and also in the Nexus one Vanilla 2.2 so why not here?If I have missed somthing simple or if anyone is aware why it is missing or how I can activate it that would be fantastic!

My problem is that I have to go through a few menus to connect the paired devises every time I get in the car. Is there a way to have the Droid automatically connect to this device, or is there a widget that can help make this process easier?

Now it won't find anything when using "Search for devices" option.
It can be discovered by other devices if I set it to be discoverable, but it cannot detect any new devices, no phones no computers or bluetooth extension devices.
Has anyone experienced the same thing? Any ideas how to fix it? We would like to pair it with a Parrot Minikit Slim handsfree kit.
I have a sprint anycom bluetooth reciever connected to my car stereo. I think it only supports the A2DP bluetooth profile (no hfp).Right now the music plays through the car stereo just fine but when I get a phone call it does not. Ideally I would like to have the phone call audio go through the stero and use the phone's microphone as if it were on speakerphone. Is this possible? My phone is a g1 running the latest experimental release of cyanogenmod rom.I would love a built in solution but I think the ability to do that is so non standard it wouldn't exist. An existing marketplace app with the ability would be great, too. I have not done any android development but I am a java developer, so a pointer on how to do it programmatically (or that it is not possible) would be great, too.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI know Android has already implemented the Blue tooth Headset Profile, but it is in Audio Gateway Role, not in Head Set Role. What I want to do is develop an application on Android phone which will act as a blue tooth headset, so it can connect to my laptop by blue tooth. When I try to call somebody, I can use my phone to dial him, and my application will forward the voice through blue tooth to my laptop, and one other application running on laptop will get the voice data and forward them to Skype or G Talk or some VoIP program else. In other words, how can I implement the Headset Profile in Headset

Having discovered that having the Bluetooth enabled all the time more than halves my battery life, I now keep Bluetooth turned off. However, when I get in the car I turn it on. Using the built-in apps to do this is a bit convoluted. What is the quickest way to enable and disable Bluetooth on the HTC Desire?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if its possible to have an application run on startup of the phone and then run permanently in the background. Also I would then like it to monitor the call log, and detect any changes and run about 15, 20 lines of code each time there is a change.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt's actually really easy, and you don't need to use animations. I did something like this recently by using a wrapper layout that adjusts the Canvas and any MotionEvents. (You could also use this approach rotate the entire layout to any arbitrary angle.) I think romainguy told me to use Canvas.concat(mForward) instead of setMatrix(), but I haven't updated the code in awhile...................
