Sep 10, 2010I have seen several posts about once you have debranded a phone you need to put the goldcard back in to update using the OTA update otherwise you will lose access to your wifi. Are there any problems with using my large microsdcard as the goldcard and then permanently leaving it in the phone?

Nov 12, 2010When I try to refresh friendstream is gets permanently stuck on "updating" and the only way to get it to work again is to restart the phone.More often than not I can't view updates on my phone because it just gets stuck, but occasionally it will work once. but if I try again I'm not so lucky!Anyone have idea what's wrong? It used to work perfectly before the Froyo update. It's been hit and miss ever since.

Jul 11, 2010I'm not really feeling the love for the quality of the images the Desire produces, mainly due to blue cast each image seems to have. If i want to keep an image i find I have to colour correct it with Photoshop which i hope you can appreciate is kind of annoying! Also, and this doesn't happen all the time but the screen sometimes splits in two/three when taking a photo which again is bloody annoying. Is this a known issue is there a software fix or do i have a duff unit and need to speak to HTC to repair under warranty.

Oct 11, 2010Does anyone know how I can fix this without having to reinstall the ROM again? Inoticed that when I receive and SMS with handcent the blue led light does not come on and I constantly have to check if I have any sms's, I've tried every colour under the handcent settings but none make my LED come on when I receive an sms. The LED does work however when charging and getting missed calls.

Aug 30, 2010Today whilst surfing the net via wireless (only for a few mins) my Desire shutdown out of the blue and now constantly reboots - all it shows is the O2 Welcome screen before rebooting. Tried stopping this booting by holding down the power key and now it's stuck on the welcome screen! Any idea of what I can do? I've already removed the battery, sim and mini sd card and tried starting again but I still can't get past the o2 screen!

Motorola Droid :: WiFi Tethering / No Steady Internet Connection
May 22, 2010I've had WiFi tethering for awhile now, but I have never got it to work properly. The problem is that I will have, say, my laptop, or any device for that matter, connected to my Droid and I am able to maintain a steady internet connection for about a minute. After that, the tethering application reports a download speed of 0.0kbps. If I disconnect my laptop (or other device) and reconnect it, it'll start to work again, but only for about another minute. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

May 8, 2010I have an htc desire and when i go into people all my numbers etc are there HOWEVER for example if i go into maps and theres a button to view contacts it takes me onto a page which says search contacts and does nt matter what name of my contacts i put in it says NO MATCHES FOUND!!! Please can someone help as its driving me nuts and making me wonder whether I should have gotten a different phone ( I still have time to send it back)

Aug 3, 2010Kind of annoying having the little arrow to say there's an event on practically every single day on the HTC Calendar widget. This wasn't the case before the other day so I'm assuming it's a 2.2 thing, not sure though.
As far as I can tell there's no way to hide them either, and it was done automatically. Just because I have a person on my FB doesn't mean I care so much when their birthday is. It dilutes my calendar and means I can't tell when my actual important things are happening
And don't say "use another calendar app", I'm otherwise happy with this, it's simple and does what I need of it

Its showing the same percentage use (48%) for Android system as well which I can expect but why all the use for the camera ?
Other use at the moment is 'Cell Standby' 2% and 'Phone Idle' 2%

May 16, 2010When i first got my desire the app was showing the sun when the sun was out and the moon when the moon was out. Then after a week it shows the moon from about 7pm when it quite clearly the sun is out. I am in the nw of england and yet when i switch it to london at the same time it shows the sun? but for my area it shows the moon? Any body else have a similar problem?

But there is one thing that is bugging me.
When opening messaging and viewing a message and then pressing the HOME button. And after wards launching the messaging app again it defaults to showing me the last sms I have seen.
So I would like that whenever I launch messaging it would always start in the view all messages.
The only solution I have found thus far is by using a task killer. Which would auto kill 'messages' when not in use.
So I installed Advanced Task Killer and set it to kill messaging when the screen is OFF. But it just does not work.
HTC Desire :: Calendar Not Showing Up On Phone / Way To See
Nov 22, 2010I have just started using my new HTC Desire (Android 2.2) and am having a problem with my Google calendar not showing up.
If I go to Settings > Accounts & sync, my Gmail and contacts show up, but no calendar.
If I set a new calendar event in my google calendar on my PC, the phone gives me a reminder on the notification bar, but does not show up on the calendar.
I have tried removing and re-registering the google account on the phone, but the calendar will still not show. Any ideas?

Yesterday, my seminars were added to the Uni calendar and so are now automatically on my Google calendar but now, on my phone, the lectures have disappeared and only the seminars are shown... Let me explain : When I go on PEOPLE I see my contacts there , if I click on them I cant see any phone number or mail nothing it just show me the contact name then under the name I see DETAILS then INFORMATION and down I can read ringtone and send to voicemail and then last Edit. Why is that? I dont think is normal and honestly makes me really depressed coz I cant call normally.

Jul 29, 2010Since I started installing custom ROMs on my Desire, the contact pictures have been missing in the HTC Messages app. They show up fine everywhere else, just in Messages I see the default grey contact icon all the time.I initially thought it could be a bug specific to one of the ROMs I installed but it's happened with AdamG's 'official' Froyo Sense ROM and Paul's MCR Custom ROM r5 which I'm currently running (actually, I've installed 2 slightly different 'bakes' of this and the problem is there in both).I've tried asking about this on XDA and MoDaCo in the relevant ROM threads but not had any luck. Just wondered if anyone had any idea at all what could be causing this and how to fix it, or at least find out why it's happening.As I said, its literally just in the Messages app that it's happening - everywhere else contact pics show up just fine.

My only issue so far is that even though I've selected in the People app only to display Google contacts there seems to still be Facebook contacts appearing, albeit only the ones who have entered phone numbers into their Facebook profile. This causes duplicate entries for the same person in messaging apps (default and Handcent) and in the People app it seems to prefer to show the Facebook contact details rather than the Google ones.

Jun 22, 2010I have installed my new 32gb card into my desire and transferred my music collection (about 20gb) across via my pc but when I try to play them not all are available. They appear to be on the card as when I check the contents of the card on the pc in explorer they are all there and if I check the folders using the phone again they are showing on the card.
But when I go to select a song to play from the stock player there are only 100 songs to choose from which is very strange as there should be over 2000 easily. Interestingly when I switched the phone off and back on again I had about 700 to choose from which is still not right. Do I need to do anything with the vcard before installing (for example I didn't format it)? For info I needed to set up a new folder called MP3 on the new card when I installed it and dragged them into this folder so presume that was correct?
