HTC : Possible To Sync Desire With Outlook Via Bluetooth?
Jun 8, 2010Does anyone know if there is a way to sync the Desire with Outlook calendar via bluetooth?
My previous phone was a Nokia and I was able to sync via bluetooth.
Its just annoying having the usb cable double as the AC charger connection too. I have to keep moving it from the bedroom to the laptop every day. Why didn't they give us a separate usb cable and ac charger in the box?
Desire : HTC Bluetooth - Head Unit Sync "All People" List
Jun 21, 2010Loving Android and the HTC Desire but got one niggle. I've set the phone up to connect to my car stereo for handsfree (Pioneer P8100BT) and it works great.
Except for when finding contacts. Unfortunately the Desire and the head unit sync the "All People" list. How can I change this? Also, when the names are synced to the handsfree it syncs them as Lastname Firstname.

Nov 19, 2010This is my first android phone and im having some problems with the bluetooth. Im trying to send my contacts over bluetooth from my old sony ericsson but it doesnt seem to be going smoothly, i would say its all down to me! Basically i have got the bluetooth on for both phones, the desire is set to be discoverable and i try to send the contacts via bluetooth on the SE. I get the whole passcode and accept the file which i have done, but then it says again about accepting the file. Ive tried it a few times and i have 3 bluetooth icons at the top of my screen now which i imagine are for transferring files which need accepting. Is there anywhere i can to accept them or close them down?

I also cant download from the Market, the download appears to start & says 'Starting download' but never progresses, i assume this could be to do with the sync not working.

Jun 10, 2010I have a Ford Focus with Microsoft Sync. Shortly after getting my HTC Evo I got it all connected to my car and could make hands free phone calls just like my old phone did. It was great. Then I went to the Bluetooth Settings and tried to change the device name from "PC36100" to "HTC Evo". Now it never seems to connect to my car again.
Frustrated, I went in to the Sync menu in the car and deleted all bluetooth devices figuring I would just start over. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a similar function on the Evo. Sync now sits there waiting for me to enter the PIN so that it can pair a device, but when I scan for devices on my phone it will often claim that Sync is "paired but not connected" or sometimes I can get it to prompt for me a PIN. When I enter that, it sits there "pairing" with Sync indefinitely. Other times the application seems to crash before I can actually enter the PIN, and the screen switches back to the "Bluetooth Settings" menu. Touching the button to pair usually gets me back to where I can enter a PIN (without crashing) but again -- it hangs indefinitely after the PIN has been submitted.
I have tried power cycling the phone as well as turning bluetooth off and then back on. I have also tried setting the option to make the device discoverable, but nothing seems to work!
Is there a way to blast all of the information that the Evo knows about paired bluetooth devices and start all over without completely flashing the phone back to defaults? I hope so...
We also have an Escape with Sync so I'll try pairing with that when I get home too. My old phone allowed me to store multiple profiles (which I named Sync-Focus and Sync-Escape) but it wasn't an Android phone. I don't know what's going to happen when I try this with the Evo but I guess it's worth a shot.

Aug 1, 2010I have posed this question in some threads but as yet have made no progress.I am just curious as to why HTC appear to have left out the Bluetooth Voice Dialler function that can be provided by the Froyo 2.2 O/S. I believe this feature is present and enabled in some of the cooked roms and also in the Nexus one Vanilla 2.2 so why not here?If I have missed somthing simple or if anyone is aware why it is missing or how I can activate it that would be fantastic!

HTC Desire :: HTC Desire Bluetooth Cannot Find Devices
May 21, 2010My boss has a new stock HTC Desire, he also performed an upgrade to the latest firmware.
Now it won't find anything when using "Search for devices" option.
It can be discovered by other devices if I set it to be discoverable, but it cannot detect any new devices, no phones no computers or bluetooth extension devices.
Has anyone experienced the same thing? Any ideas how to fix it? We would like to pair it with a Parrot Minikit Slim handsfree kit.

Aug 4, 2010I installed HTC Sync 2.0.28 on Win XP machine and Have HTC desire connected to it. Desire is able to connect to HTC Sync and works fine.
I have setup eclipse with Android SDK on the same Win XP machine.
Problem comes here ..
HTC sync works fine as long as i don't launch any Android SDK sample applications through eclipse on to virtual device. From that point phone no longer able connect to HTC Sync . Only Solution is i have to restart my workstation then only Desire is able to connect to Synch again. Restarting phone is not working.
HTC Desire :: Desire / Outlook Calendar Sync
Aug 8, 2010I'm having a strange problem with a new appointment I've just entered in my Desire.Problem shows itself as follows:
1 Go to Doctor, get new appointment for 8:30am next Feb 14th.
2 Enter appointment into Desire under PC Sync calendar. Shows up OK in calendar.
3 Go Home. Sync with Outlook (2003 SP3) on home PC (XP Pro SP3)
4 Outlook shows appointment as 9:30am on Feb 14th.
5 Correct in Outlook back to 8:30 and re-sync.
6 Desire now shows appointment for 7:30am.
7 Repeat...
Off the top of my head, I'd say that there's a Daylight Saving / Summer Time issue here, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to go about fixing it.I live in Qld, Australia. Qld does not have Daylight Saving during Summer, but other Eastern Australian States do. I've only had the Desire for about 2 weeks, but no other dates have been increased/decreased by an hour when I've synced them. Google doesn't seem to be my friend (at least with the key words I've used).
HTC Desire :: Sync Itunes With Desire?
Nov 18, 2010I upgraded to froyo (Tmobile, unrooted) yesterday and I'm trying to sync itunes with my desire. I've downloaded HTC sync from the support website and checked the sync itunes to device bit. But it says that there's 0 megabytes of music to sync. When I click sync now, it does sync but nothing happens with music. I do have music in itunes, so does anyone have any ideas what I need to do?

I connected with my phone to the hands free and it didn't even ask me for a passcode as it does with others.

Sep 18, 2010I have an HTC Desire, just upgraded to 2.2 (seems a bit slower) and I would like to have the navigation instructions routed through bluetooth to come through the car stereo speakers. Now I know this can be done with A2DP but I was wondering if it can be made to work over HFP?
Over A2DP it works but it means you cannot listen to any of the in-car sources like CD or radio as you have to have it permanently switched to bluetooth audio to hear the instructions. If it was over HFP, the car stereo would mute whatever source you were listening to so it could play the navigation instruction. Is there a way to make this work, or an app to download?

Aug 18, 2010I had an HTC Desire delivered yesterday, and I used the system update to install 2.2 Everything seemed to work perfectly for 24 hours, but this evening the device is coming up with "Error" when you try to connect to wifi, and it also refuses to switch on bluetooth at all. Does anyone know if this is a 2.2 issue (and therefore likely to be fixed in an update), or if this is a problem that has been around for a while and the phone is knackered? I have seen posts by people with similar issues which predate the 2.2 release, but it can be hard to tell if they were running the official software or not.I want to avoid installing anything that may invalidate the warranty.
