I've been using bluetooth lately to connect to my car and talk while driving. When I'm finished talking, and the other person hangs up, I can't turn my screen back on. Bluetooth must still be connected because my car radio won't come back on, almost like the phone call is still going on. Only way to get my screen back on is to take the battery out.

I am going crazy here... I've had this thing since it launched and everything is great except I keep hitting buttons with my face during calls! I mute, sometimes end calls, start 3 way calls etc and I have no idea how to prevent it. Is there any way I can make the screen lock during phone calls or change the call screen altogether?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI went to make a call and my Droid was off. I had checked email on it about two hours prior and had 80% battery life. When I got home I plugged it into the charger and nothing. Hit the power button, still nothing. Finally took out the battery and put it back in while still on the charger and finally it turned back on, with about the same battery life it had when I checked my email.
Then I tried to make a phone call and it simply would not make the call. I killed all tasks and tried again with no luck. Then the same text came through eight times. I turned the phone off and on again and the problem persisted. Finally about a half an hour later after leaving the phone alone, it seemed to be working fine. Made calls, texts, etc with no problems. An hour after that the phone shut off again. I had to take out the battery and put it back in again, and after about ten minutes it was working normally. This was about an hour ago.
what is the best way to make a phone call?I am coming from a BB Curve and when I wanted to call my husband, I just pushed the letter T (his name is Tim) and it would pop up with my T contacts and I would hit go and it would call him.Now, on the droid, I hit the phone icon, then hit contacts, then scroll through all the way down to T and select him there.Is there a better way? And I did search the forums, but the questions having to do with making calls were all way more complicated than this one!

My problem is that I have to go through a few menus to connect the paired devises every time I get in the car. Is there a way to have the Droid automatically connect to this device, or is there a widget that can help make this process easier?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a cheap old bluetooth headset that worked great with my Q9c. Now I want to use it with the DX for podcast. It paired and connected just fine. And I can make phone call with it. However, it won't play any media audio (Google Listen, Pandora, etc.).
In bluetooth setting the device is connected to phone audio. Does it need to be connected to something like "media audio"? Is it just the limitation of my BT headset or I can work around it by tweaking a setting on the phone?
I have had Google voice for a while now. And yesterday I added a line into my plan and got the Droid. I downloaded Google voice app and everytime I try to place a call it tells me I am unable to make the call. I did set my new number as the phone being used. Any suggestions? Or is there something up with Google voice?

When i try to call a number it doesnt even ring or anything. when someone tries to call me the phone doesnt ring either. What did i do wrong?. Everything else is working fine. I know i did the update yesterday and downloaded some apps. Should i return the phone for a new one.
View 13 Replies View RelatedMy Droid was in its leather carrying case in my backpack for about an hour while I was at the gym. When I pulled it out it was hot. Not warm, but hot. I couldn't stand to hold it against my ear to make a call.
When I pulled up the battery usage it did not appear to be anything out of the ordinary. The keyboard was locked when I pulled it out of the case so that eliminates errant keypresses opening up a bunch of apps and making calls while it was in there.
I've searched hi and low, so I apologize if this has been answered before.I have a stock Droid-X. I have my blue-tooth paired to Motorola HT820 stereo/phone headsets. SIDE NOTE: I also use wired stereo ear-buds that are music and phone capable as well.Here's the problem.I can be listening to Pandora with my HT820's all is fine, I am grooving.. then I receive a phone call. I carry on the phone call for 5+ minutes (or whatever) through the HT's and when I disconnect from the call, I have nothing but silence! Music does not come back. I check to make sure Pandora is running and the music is playing yep, still no sound though.So I try and test what is happening.I then go back and call, say voice mail. The call goes over the HT's fine. But when I disconnect from the call, my music is not there. I try turning off, then back on the blue-tooth (I double check in settings I am connected and it is) but it still won't play my music, it will come over the regular speaker, when I turn of the blue tooth. The only way to bring it back is to power off the X. My music will then play again until I receive another call or notification like a text message.The weird thing is this happens when I use the wired ear buds plugged into the jack. These are designed not only for stereo, but handling phone calls too. No sound, I unplug and the music plays out the speaker. Again only powering off and on the X will get the music back into the wired ear buds. Like I said, this is a stock phone, not rooted. Paired and connected, Media and phone checked.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a weird problem,(verizon incredible) when im streaming music via bluetooth in the car and check my notification slide down bar no problem but if im on a call using bluetooth via the car stereo when i want to look at my notifications or press "2" for an automated system my screen will flicker on and off and you have to time it right to catch it before the screen dims im talking a split second i thought maybe it was the proximity sensor that dims the screen to save battery when the phone is on your ear but i have no clue why this is, i ruled out the proximity sensor cause the phone would be in my hand or on my bracketron universal windshield mount
Also if i try using the power button to bring the screen on again it does nothing but confuses the phone and slows it down
I know its not the screen timeout cause it comes back without hitting the power button.
When I make a call there is a short, odd ring-tone that occurs just after I press Dial and before the normal ringing sound begins to indicate the call is going through.
It's about 1/2 second long, can be quite loud sometimes, and is kind of high-pitched....sorry, it's hard to describe. The tone modulates up and down quite fast - da-dum-da-dum-dum (if you can imagine).
I tried re-programming the phone, and also updating roaming, and it's still there every time I make a call. I haven't made any changes to call settings to speak of...never had this on my D1.
I am new to rooting and I am using Nonsensikal 5.4 and when I am on a call using my bluetooth or a wired headset, I can't get the screen to turn back on during the call. The only one that turns it on is the end button and that hangs up the call. Sometimes I need to get a number or some other info off the phone. So I have to hang up get the info and call the person back. Is there a setting I can change to fix this. I already tried trackball wake in the cyanogenMod settings.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got the Motorola Droid last week, and I love it. But I do have one problem with it. I've noticied that, and only when I'm in sunlight, when I take or make a call the screen goes off before I bring it to my ear and will stay off even when I pull it away to hang up. I have to wait for the other person to hang up and then slide out my keyboard to get the unlock screen to pop up. Inside however, there are no problems. Anyone else having this problem, and if so what did you do to fix it.? Technical said they don't know what's wrong with it, but I'm going to call them back after the holiday. Also I noticied that my alarm occasionaly doesn't work. Is this normal? I did download a pay app alarm clock, but I don't know yet if it will work 100%.

I think it only supports the A2DP bluetooth profile (no hfp).Right now the music plays through the car stereo just fine but when I get a phone call it does not. Ideally I would like to have the phone call audio go through the stero and use the phone's microphone as if it were on speakerphone. Is this possible?My phone is a g1 running the latest experimental release of cyanogenmod rom.I would love a built in solution but I think the ability to do that is so non standard it wouldn't exist. An existing marketplace app with the ability would be great, too. I have not done any android development but I am a java developer, so a pointer on how to do it programmatically (or that it is not possible) would be great, too.

But recently, my screen will turn on (it will display the 'lock' screen) all by itself. It's draining the hell out of my battery; I'm down to 80% after 2 hours, just due to the screen turning on while it's in my holster. Not cool at all.I've noticed this only happens at certain times at work. It hasn't happened to me at home yet, and I don't notice it while It's just sitting on my desk at work. I mainly notice it when I take it out before or after I take a break (leaving my desk to go out for a smoke, or whatever). So here's what I think it is.On my work laptop (Ubuntu 9.10), I'm running BlueProximity, which probes a paired Bluetooth device (my Droid, in this case) and locks my laptop if it's not within a certain range. It *seems* (not 100% sure) that when I leave and re-enter the maximum range of my laptop's BT receiver i.e., breaking and then re-establishing the connection -- that the Droid's screen turns on.Again, I'm pretty sure it's the 2.1 update that caused this to start happening. It only started happening within the last week. I suppose it could be an app, but that seems unlikely. Has anyone else seen a problem like this? Anyone have any ideas for resolving? Is there any info I can provide that would be helpful in pinning down the problem?

Phone's in holster, screen's timed out, press & hold bluetooth headset, get double tone indicating screen timed out. Must remove phone from holster, unlock, then manually press Voice Command shortcut to activate. A real PITA, especially when driving. Have car doc, Voice Command works from bluetooth, but need to activate when phone is in holster.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use Google Voice (love it) primarily because of it's visual voicemail on my Droid. I do have a Google Voice number, and I'm trying to decide whether to set the Droid app to "make calls using Google Voice" or not.
I have no problem with giving out a different number, and my placed calls seeing the GV number in caller ID.
My question is, does this affect how the call is actually connected, from a quality standpoint? I tired a call both ways, and the sound quality seemed a little bit different. But then, I am an obsessive compulsive weirdo.
Is there any difference in call quality or routing between making a native Verizon call and a Google Voice call on Droid? (Like, does Google voice actual use 3G to connect to Google server over the internetz, then place the phone call?)
