Can anyone advise how to insert a *pause* in a telephone number ?.
I am using some access numbers to dial abroad, and i want to insert the a pause before the telephone number that i am calling, continues ?
a have had a google about, and some other android phones seem to confirm its the comma (,) that inserts a pause.
can anybody confirm this, who may be using this.

My Treo when locked, would only show the time, My name and a telephone number. In the case I lost it, some good samaritan could contact me when they realize the phone was useless with out the PIN.

I am facing one problem in message view. Bacically what I need to do is in message view I want to mark any telephone number or web address in different color. Can anyone please tell me where exactly the text is been written in Message View? On clicking this items it should launch appropriate event. I have phone numbers stored that was transferred from my HTC phone that have a "p" in the dialing sequence to introduce a pause for e.g. a calling card. When this number is used in the X10 it will not recognize the "p" as a pause.

I have to frequently use an international calling service where I have to go through several prompts to make calls. Is there an app which can take into account the gap between the prompts and can automate the inputs. E.g. wait for 2 secs, then enter 1, then wait for 1 second and enter the phone number etc.
View 3 Replies View RelatedProbably as many others i decided to move on from i phone platform to android and bought a new Desire 2 days ago and trying to catch up with it. I am generally very impressed with the device except 1 critical issue I'm having: When typing very fast in the keyboard, the keyboard gets lost completely, i am very fast typing person and do a lot of emails I'm text etc. I can see when typing that random letters kick in the text. I did a test by fast typing letters A-L to see exactly and a random latter like G, F being inserted without my interaction while I'm pressing only A and L. This is mostly happening in vertical mode. Landscape is much better Can someone tell me what is going on please? I did calibration many times and no result. I downloaded keyboards from the Market - nothing. I goggled the web for something - nothing there. Has some came across this issue? it is so frustrating and if i don't find solution how to fix it i will have to return it to a shop.

After pausing playback (standard music app) then coming back to it a number of hours later, playback resumes a minute or 2 back from where it was paused. Which is rather annoying!
Guess a different music app might help, but I'm otherwise happy with the standard player... Anyone else come across the same issue?

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason.. my stock htc headphones wont forward rewind.play or pause.. the default music player! they do work cuz they play/pause mspot and double twist... i unistalled both restarted my phone.. took out the battery.. im about too reset it soon.. but just wondering if any other HTC desire Z owners have experienced a similar problem and found a solution (i've searched and found no1 with a similar problem.. must be in my settings or something).

Now here is my question : Is there an app that will send an sms to a preallocated number if the phone is booted up with a different sim? I know some Samsung phones can do this. But having an app that requires your own sim to be able to find it if stolen is quite pointless.

When I'm away from my desk, I usually accomplish this by conducting the interview on speakerphone and utilizing a traditional voice recorder. It'd be MUCH better to be able to record the call and then transfer an MP3 of the recording to my laptop.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst off, I have to say this phone is amazing and by far the best handset I've ever had.ight, my problem. I use Outlook contacts at work and had a Windows mobile before this one. The contacts appeared to sync into Desire no problem with HTC Sync and I was using phone with no issues. I then decided to see if I could have mail sent to phone like a Blackberry. I went to 'accounts & sync' and set up my work domain etc. The email side of it works fine. since then I noticed that my contacts in 'People' are normal. When I go to send a text, everything from a contact is listed twice. I use Handcent, but it happens in HTC message app as well. Each contact has 'linked' in top right corner and if i tap it the two contacts for the same person are 'Phone' and 'Exchange'. Any ideas how I can remove one of these?
Is HTC Sync, syncing with Outlook and the Desire sync settings are syncing with the Exchange? Any help on how best to set this up is appreciated. I do want to have Outlook contacts as they are full of notes about customers.
When i go to Menu - Settings - About phone - Phone identity, it lists my phone number as unknown.Anyone know how to change it or add my number to it?

Anyway, I was previously on vodafone with another phone, and stuck a new Virgin Mobile simcard in my Desire. Everything fine and hunky dorey. Then today I've had my old vodafone number ported onto my Virgin sim card. That *works* in that people can call me on it etc.However, when I go into Settings -> About Phone -> Phone Identity the phone number is wrong, its the number that originally came with my Virgin simcard, not the number that is now associated with it.

If I interrogate the contact details the number is correct except that the desire has automatically changed the number from 0781. to 44781 without a + infront of it. Could this be a the problem? If he calls me, the number displayed is the same as the contact details. I have noticed however that his facebook picture is an old one. Could it have something to do with the number that he has on his facebook profile.
