I recently installed the Facebook Android app on my T-mobile mytouch phone (running 1.6), and I noticed I now have a "Facebook Phone" I know I can merge them one by one, but I was wondering if there is a way I can export them all to my main contact list? (like through a csv file or something similar)

Is there a way to merge facebook and google contacts? I have quite a few numbers that I had entered before I added them on facebook, so now I have a bunch of duplicate entries. One for facebook and one with the info that I put in. I seem to remember there being a way to do this on 2.1, but I can't find it in 2.2 (KaosFroyo). Am I overlooking something really simple, or was it just not implemented this time around?

The result now is that i have a huge list of contacts (GMail + SIM) with many duplicates and information spread around different entries. But i have a problem: I imported the contacts from GMail and from the SIM card. Nearby all of my contacts are now two times in the phone, once tagged Google and once tagged Phone...
How can i merge this contacts? I also saw that my GMail Contacts has a group called 'Starred in Android' but it is empty... I also starred some numbers in my Magic, but only Phone-contacts.

I have no issue syncing my FB contacts to my phone. They are all on my phone and in Contacts list. My issue is I can not link them to contacts I have already on my Phone. I click on FB name and it says "link contact" but it only lets me Link it to other FB contacts! It doesn't let me link them to phone entries I already have stored on my phone.

So we just upgraded to the Verizon-branded Galaxy S3 and imported all contacts to my wife's phone (she had a Sprint Treo 755p). We then sync'd her Google contacts to the phone. This resulted with her having many duplicates between the PHONE and GOOGLE.
I haven't found enough information on the "Merge with Google" option in the contacts menu.
What exactly happens when I pick "Merge with Google?"
Will it move and/or remove the PHONE contacts while preserving them in the GOOGLE Contacts?
Any way to tackle this problem with 300 contacts?
I am one of those crazy types with 2000+ Facebook friends for games and such. When I get my DInc. (hopefully this week or early next week.) and do the contact merger thing, Do I have to merge in all of my Facebook friends? Or can I just pick a filter like Family and Close Friends only? This would bring the total merged contacts down to a much more manageable 100+ or so. Really do not want 2000 people on my phone, that would be a mess! If there is no option other than all or none, I may have to start a new facebook account just to limit the chaos.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my DroidX on 7/15 and on 7/16 linked all my phone contacts who have facebook to a facebook contact via social networking. I kike how the phone sets the picture, I like that in the contact entry it shows me thier status on facebook. What I don't like is that when I open up a contac that is both a phone contact and a facebook contact and I tap the facebook icon on the contact screen I get 3 options (view profile, write on wall, and poke). If I open up a contact that is only facebook and tap that same Icon I get 4 options (view profile, message, write on wall, and poke). Is there some reason linking the facebook contact to a phone contact needs to remove that option? I'd like to be able to send a facebook message from the phone to any contact as easy as I can send a text message.

Otherwise, the contact on my phone from Facebook may be, and in many cases is, missing lots of relevant information. For example, many people don't keep their full address, or their phone number, on Facebook. If this is so, then no phone number or address is stored on my phone for the many friends who got in my contact list via the Facebook Motoblur magic. I opened the FB app from my Rezound (ICS) and looked at the settings. The "Sync Contacts" option is set to "Don't sync"
Then I looked in the Android Settings --->Accounts&sync--->facebook where there are three boxes, sync calendar, sync contacts, and sync live feed. I made sure all those boxes are unchecked.
I figured I'd just try deleting FB from my Rezound but it seems to be undeletable if that's a word. It's like standard bloatware that I actually use on occasion.
So why are my FB contacts still merged with my Google contacts? I am seeing my contacts with their FB photo and this drives me crazy. I don't want FB communicating with my address book. Gingerbread didn't do this.
I am using 2.3.5 android and my contacts are in google contacts. I have also added my facebook account and some contacts are synced between both accounts.I use titanium backup pro for my backups but I cannot restore the linked synced (after some reboots, the stop being synced)
Is there anyway to make and restore a backup if the sync contacts information) using titanium backup pro or other app?

I purchased my samsung epic a week ago and every since I've been getting the message that my facebook contacts is unable to syn at the moment an error of some sort,and too try later.WTH? My facebook calender syncs but not the contacts.I thought that it was th phone so I took it back to the sprint store they restarted my hard drive but it still didn't work,thy sent me to the repair center at another store and the general manager told me to go back and tell them to replace the phone and that I shouldn't be having issues so soon. Well I did that,they gave me a new phone and guess what.yep u guessed it,still the same issue.I went back to the repair center they played with it for 2 straight hours while I waited impatiently and still I walked away with the same problem. What the heck and I suppose to do now?
View 26 Replies View RelatedOk, so this is my first time with Android. When I first set the phone up with Facebook, it pulled EVERY friend I have and puts them in my phones contacts. After searching, I found that I can unsync them in my 'all' contacts list etc, but they are still showing up when I push 'PHONE' at the bottom of the home screen. They are behind the dialer. Is there anyway to set that screen to show recently dialed numbers or favorites or something?

Ie if my GF posted something on her wall her name woudl get a green 1 next to her name on the widget.
Ever since i updated this doesnt happen anymore. Has this been removed from 2.2, I have checked all the settings and nothings changed.
