Basically I use my phone as an alarm to get up for work. My old Nokia N96 I could set the alarm and then switch the phone off at night and the alarm would still go off on time. This does not seem to be the case with the X10i. It doesn't even go off when the phones in airplane mode which is poor. I just don't want to have to leave my phone on overnight in case it rings and i wake up.
Are there any good alarm apps that allows you to turn the phone off and the alarm would still ring at 6.30 for work?
I have the latest Fresh ROM with the lockscreen from the updater. My problem is that today when I used the stock (beautiful widgets)? alarm clock, I could not turn it off.Is there a solution for this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI did the 2.1 root upgrade and adding the nexus goodies, and removing the htc lock screen by following the instructions in the sticky. After doing this when I set an alarm I am unable to turn it off. I suspect it has to do with removing the htc lock screen because it used to be that I would have buttons on the lockscreen to snooze or turn off the alarm. Now the only way to stop an alarm is to turn off the phone and turn it back on. How can I fix this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWasn't sure which of the many DINC areas to put this in, but hopefully someone knows what I am talking about. I am one of those classic lazy Americans that have to hit the snooze button when the alarm goes off. However, the DINC only lets you snooze twice then just goes at it until you force close the clock with ATK (only way I've found). This is good for me, as it forces me to get up to go through the menus and turn it off and such. But is that the only way to stop the alarm or am I missing something?
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo, I'm not sure if this has been asked, I've searched the forums and didn't turn up with anything. I was wondering if it is possible to set an alarm and turn the phone off. Then when it is time for the alarm to go off, the phone turns on and everything is good again. I've had this function with a lot of my older phones, but I can't seem to find hte option with my Captivate. I'm pretty sure it doesn't do it automatically because I just tried it, making an alarm for 2 minutes later, turning off the phone and waiting.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEver since the froyo update (installed fresh from the RUU file), there are random days where my alarm will not sound, both from the stock htc alarm app, and Alarm Klock. At first, I thought it may be gonig off, but I've been muting it in my sleep, but today my suspicions were confirmed when I was awake in time to see it attempt to go off, only for the alarm screen to come up with no sound, despite the alarm volume being cranked up to maximum.I'm honestly at my wit's end with this; I can't find anyone else with this problem, and I've had to buy a cheap clock from CVS to wake myself up in the morning.Has ANYONE else been having this problem? I've already been late to work twice because of it!
View 6 Replies View RelatedHad a problem with my alarm clock this morning. It went off @ one of the alarm times I have (although I could swear it wasn't checked to be on for today). But then I could not shut it off. Tried hitting nearly ever button both physical and virtual and the damned alarm wouldn't stop. I eventually just shut it off and turned it back on and that did the trick. Did I miss a step in how to turn alarm off?
View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes the phone lag while trying to make a call? Does the standard alarm work (I used Alarmed & my regular alarm when I'm really tired and I stagger the alarms so that at least 1 will wake me up with stock alarm, i can't turn it off without shutting off the phone). Is Facebook contacts synced with contacts again, or is like the 1.5 Hero. Does it sync ALL your google contacts (2.1 Hero) or does it allow you to choose which group to sync (1.5 Hero). Those are my issues with the Hero since the upgrade, if these problems are not on the EVO, then to the EVO I go.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have sorted out my Launcher Pro problem from my last thread, but here's another. Long story short - I can't switch off my alarm clock (or snooze). I have to turn off the phone completely to make it stop. I use Launcher Pro, Widget locker and stock alarm. Unfortunately none of the buttons work, nothing appears on the screen and I don't know how to switch the damn thing off - which makes alarm clock unusable. But I really need alarm clock, can't live without it.

I know simple question but I can't figure it out for the life of me?
My blackberry did, but my S4 doesn't turn on if it's off to sound the alarm. Is there an internal setting I can put on to fix this, or do I have to download a quick fix app for it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOnly thing I can think of that I miss on my storm. When turning it off, it would alert you it would be turning back on at your alarm time to wake you and would do exactly that. Stock app doesn't do that. I've searched and gone through market apps descriptions looking for this function. At the least I want the alarm to go off when the phones turned off. I don't need it to notify me when its turning on, when its shutting down.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know I'm comparing phones that are different, but the Blackberry has the option to turn off the phone, and 'wake up' right before the alarm goes off. This helps save battery life and keep from waking you up in case you get an email or text in the middle of the night. Is there any way the Eris has something comparable? I know there is an airplane mode - what is this? Any chance that's what I'm looking for?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I use the task killer...and at the moment say when I kill tasks it'll tell me there is about 200M avaliable memory free...if I use the phone for a day it'll maybe go down to 150M even if I am still killing apps and there is nothing in 'running services'. If i turn off the phone and turn it back on it goes up to 250M. What is running that I can't stop myself to make it go down from the 250M but that I can just eliminate by turning off the phone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried several alarm clocks on my droid, and they all seem to have a problem. if I set alarms for 6:30, 6:41, and 6:52 am. Each with a different sound. If i snooze alarm 1, alarm 2/3 never goes off. i thought all 3 would be seperate, but it seems only 1 can be active at a time. unless im doing something wrong. this happens on the default alarm clock and, better alarm clock.

Is there any class or manager which allows me to turn USB debugging on/off in android froyo 2.2. Please, let me know on how to achieve this.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've set my alarm to go off on M,T,W,T at 6.16am however, not once has it gone off. I've tested to see that I've entered everything correctly by setting it to go off say for example now and it goes off fine - it just seems to be if it's for a longer period of time away it won't go off.

If anyone is interested, I will provide more info on how to install the patch and where to d/l it from.My desire is rooted but S-ON and odexed. It only works on rooted phones.I love this feature that only comes on DHD & DZ as part of the new sense 2.0 ui as standard.
View 2 Replies View Relatedis it just me or do you all have to manually turn off the alarm clock? The default one that you get with the phone i.e. If I don't turn it off then it will keep ringing indefinately. According to me, a normal alarm clock would ring for about a minute before putting itself on snooze. Sometimes the alarm won't stop ringing after I turn it off either, so then I'll have to turn off the phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDid anyone else's Desire alarm fail to go off this morning? Four of us (so far!) in the UK had the same failure and were late for work as a result. Could be a problem with JuiceDefender app maybe? I think it's the only non-standard app that my girlfriend and I both have installed.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have posed this question in some threads but as yet have made no progress.I am just curious as to why HTC appear to have left out the Bluetooth Voice Dialler function that can be provided by the Froyo 2.2 O/S. I believe this feature is present and enabled in some of the cooked roms and also in the Nexus one Vanilla 2.2 so why not here?If I have missed somthing simple or if anyone is aware why it is missing or how I can activate it that would be fantastic!
View 15 Replies View RelatedI am toying with the idea of putting a Froyo Rom on my desire, but have several questions that aren't answered in other posts.
1. Will I need to unlock my phone before, during or after changing the Rom? I am not overly bothered by the orange stuff on my phone, but am worried about losing my WiFi connections!
2. Do I need a goldcard? Some instructions say yes, other no. None mention orange handsets specifically.
3. Which is the easiest & safest method to root my phone, if I want to put the Froyo Rom on it?
4. What if I want to change Roms - do I need to do the whole process again? I've seen something about a Rom manager, but where do you get it and how does it work?
5. Which Rom do I use? I've looked at some I'd the modacco forum ROMs, but most don't actually say what you do or don't get with them.
6. What's that difference between a2sd and a2sd+? Does it come as part of the ROM or so I news to get it separately?
Im gradually setting up all my programs and apps, there is so much to do its taking a while. But i was wondering if there is a way of adding a new tone that I can use for my alarm clock. I can only seem to get the ones that are already in the phone and cant see any options to change this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my previous phones whenever an alarm is due to go off the next morning an alarm icon is shown on the desktop and when you view the keypad lock screen you get the same thing. This meant that last thing at night I could just press a key to get the lock screen and confirm my alarm was set to go off and at what time.
I can't seem to find a way to see this easily on my Desire.
On my lock screen I get an alarm icon to show that an alarm is set, along side the current time in the notifications bar along the top and then I simply have T-Mobile, Current Time, and the current date on the lock bar.
Now I have just disabled all my alarms except for one on Monday morning (this is Thursday as I type) and I still have the same icon in the notification bar and if i click on the HTC Sense clock widget I simply get told that there is an alarm on again coupled with the current date. This means that if i glance at my phone I can't immediately see that my morning alarm for Friday isn't actually set, I have to go into the alarm clock set screen to check.
I have read on another site that one of the changes in froyo was "Lock Screen - Instead of just the time of the next alarm time. It also shows which day."
Does this mean T-mobile have disabled that feature?
Does anyone else see the date of the next scheduled alarm on the lock screen?
I will have to look to see if there are any apps which can do this although I wonder if an app that messes with the lock screen will also affect battery life.
Now that I think about it I am not sure at what point my previous phones (Sony Ericsson k800i and C905) showed an alarm icon again. So if on Saturday night it showed no alarm for Sunday, but on Sunday morning 00:01 would it then display the icon for Monday? I can't remember ever having noticed one way or another.
OK let me clarify, it does work, but only if I am actively using the phone. If I set my alarm then hit the power button to turn the screen off, or even just allow the screen to timeout and turn off, then the alarm fails to go off. This is REALLY annoying as it renders the entire alarm feature completely useless.
