HTC Desire :: Extra Space For Deleting App

Jun 18, 2010

If I uninstall an app i paid for because I have no space and don't use it as much am i able to re-download it for free later one for example a week or month later. It didn't cost much but its that fact that I already paid for it so why should I pay again.

HTC Desire :: Checking Files - Deleting Files - Making Space

May 7, 2010

How do you go about checking what is stored on your phones memory and deleting content? For example I used dropbox and downloaded a 7mb photo onto my phone. Can't find it in the photos app or anywhere else. Going into SD & phone storage under settings doesn't do anything. It says I have 70mb available space under phone storage but you can't click on that to get any further info. Same goes for the SD card options.

Android :: Get Rid Of Extra Space In Text Switcher?

Aug 25, 2010

I have an activity that extends ViewFactory. The activity does nothing more than act as documentation for my app, with 5 different 'views'.

Each view is placed inside a ScrollView in a TextSwitcher. The problem that I am facing is that if one of the five views has more text than the next view, there is empty scroll space.

Any ideas on how I can get rid of this space?

Android :: How To Get Rid Of Extra Space From GirdView Object?

Jun 2, 2010

I'm writing an application for Android phones for Human vs. Human chess play over the internet. I was looking at some tutorials, to learn how to develop Android applications and found a very nice example of making galleries (it was a GridView usage example for making a gallery about dogs) and the idea came to draw the chess table using a GridView, because the example project also handled the point & click event and I intended to use the same event in the same way, but for a different purpose. The game works well (currently it's a hotseat version), however, I'm really frustrated by the fact that whenever I rotate the screen of the phone, my GridView gets hysterical and puts some empty space in my chess table between the columns. I realized that the cause of this is that the GridView's width is the same as its parent's and the GridView tries to fill its parent in with, but there should (and probably is) be a simple solution to get rid of this problem. However, after a full day of researching, I haven't found any clue to help me to make a perfect drawing about my chess table without a negative side effect in functionality.

Android :: Webview Adds Extra Horizontal Space In Screen / Disable This Navigation?

Oct 15, 2010

I'm using webview to display local html content. The text fits the screen width, but the user is able to navigate horizontally where there is only blank space left. However, there is no content to be shown as everything fits the screen size. Does anyone know how can I avoid this behavior? I mean, if all content is being show, how can I disable horizontal navigation.

Samsung Captivate :: How To Free Up Space Without Deleting Applications?

Oct 4, 2010

Any ideas on how to free up space without deleting apps? I really like One Click Lag Fix, I don't wanna get rid of it just for space reasons. I was just looking using Root Explorer and there are some massive files in /data/fota. What are they? I have 3 files, fota.status, (Size 36) and fota_delta_dp1 and fota_delta_dp2 both size 62914560. That seems like a lot, I'm guessing it's measured in bytes so that'd be 60 megabytes or so, so 120 total. Are they safe to remove, seems like the results from the over-the-air update.

HTC Desire :: Deleting MP3 From Ringtones

Jun 11, 2010

I accidentally set one of the MP3s which came on the phone as my ringtone. This now continually shows up in my ringtones list, despite no longer being my ringtone. If it was an MP3 I had imported to the ringtones folder on my SD card, I assume I could delete the file from the folder and it would no longer show up on the phone's ringtone list? However, I don't seem to be able to remove this MP3 from my ringtone list on the phone. It shows up on my PC when I connect my Desire via USB, but it's in the MP3 folder and not the ringtone folder. It's not a huge deal, but I'm trying to work out a way of removing it from my ringtone list!

HTC Desire :: Handcent Deleting Texts?

Oct 21, 2010

Had my desire for about 4 months now, tres happy with it, one of the first apps i downloaded to use instead of the stock was Handcent for SMS.Today I take it out to send a text and the conversation screen is blank! Can't find texts anywhere - including if I go into the traditional 'messaging'.And then to top it off, I send a text to my sister and it goes to my wife!? Despite the conversation window showing the correct name and profile photo.Anyone else had any issues with Handcent? Reading other posts, I now know that its also a battery drainer, so I'll be uninstalling it, but I'd like me messages back first!

HTC Desire :: Deleting Mails On POP Account

Aug 3, 2010

I have a POP mail account pretty standard with my ISP. My home PC is where I keep those mails so when I load up Outlook and download the mails, the mails are no longer on the server. On my previous WinMo device, whilst I was away from my home PC, it would download mails and keep them on my device UNTIL I got home, opened Outlook and downloaded mails, and then, on my device the next sync would clear those mails from the device. Nice and neat. Since moving to Android recently, a niggling thing for me has been that no matter what I do from my home PC, mails never seem to disappear from my device until the number of retention days is met. I've looked at the settings over and over and can't see anything to lead me to replicating how it worked on my WinMo device. I have no need to keep emails on my device once they're downloaded at home, am I missing something or is this just the way it is? I know iPhone does it this way also and it really annoyed me for the very short time I had one.

HTC Desire :: Why Getting Low On Space Notification?

Nov 22, 2010

I am running Villainrom 1.0.0 on my desire for just under a week now and since the second day of having the new rom I keep getting "Low on Space" notifications. I've tried to clear all the cache and remove apps that I don't need but still keep getting these errors. My device is only showing that I have 147MB of memory when I thought these devices had 512MB? I've spoken to other non-rooted desire users and they say they have never had this problem. Its a little frustrating that I need to keep removing applications and stuff.

I'm running 2.1 on the Cellular South East network. I have received a notification that my Desire since is low on space, but I have over 100 mb of free memory. After a bit of research, I read that I should try to clear application caches. I used the application manager but the "clear cache " button for each application is greyed-out. I then read to wait a minute or so to allow all data to load. I waited 3 minutes, but I still couldn't clear any caches. Why I can't clear a cache?

HTC Desire :: Low Space Storage Problem

Sep 5, 2010

Been having a lot of problems with low storage on my phone.

I currently have about 8 apps installed on my phone other than the stock ones. I've tried clearing the cache, deleting data, and even when I sort my apps by size, the largest is 5mb (chompSMS). I've checked the mail app and that's not huge, neither is contacts. I cannot see what is taking up so much space constantly.

Is this a faulty phone, or is there something I've not tried?
