I would like to know whether many people actually exceed 1GB of 3g/H data per month especially after the honeymoon period.
Can those with data monitoring widgets provide some figures please ?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been after getting a Desire on T-Mobile's 10/month contract (24 month contract, cost of phone 164), but I've just looked at the website now and the option for the 10/month contract has disappeared... Next cheapest option appears to be 15/month with the phone at 157, but the total cost over the course of the contract is 517, which is 113 more than the total cost with the 10/month contract Does anyone know if this represents an actual change in T-Mobile's pricing, or could it just be a temporary error with the website?
View 21 Replies View RelatedOne thing annoys me; The date picking facility that seems to be built into the OS is pretty poor. The three scrolling wheels for year, month and date make it slow to use, and also difficult to work out what date to select if you want something that is, say, 1 week away from today (especially if that leads into another month). It would be better to have a "calendar month" style picker, where you can see an entire month in one go, and switch forwards/backwards a month. Does anyone know if it's possible to change this? Perhaps an app can be installed to replace the standard picker?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just signed up for these forums because soon I will be an HTC Desire owner in Canada. Having never owned a smartphone before I do have a few questions. The plan I intend on signing up for is the Telus Student 40 and that will come with only 100mb of data. Now I don't see myself being too data using heavy so I feel like I will be able to live with it. However I do have some questions regarding my data consumption.
1. Is it possible to completely stop all data usage by somehow disabling the data connection if I find myself reaching my limit?
2. What are ways to track my data usage to make sure I don't use too much data?
3. What are good ways to conserve data usage? I'm getting the feeling that there are some applications that will constantly be sending data back and forth updating themselves, is it possible to have these applications but stop them from constantly updating and only have them update when I want to access the application?.........
If "always on mobile data" is disabled, will this have any affect on programs that are set to auto sync with back ground data enabled(Face book, twitter etc)? I'm trying to work it out but lots of people say different things?

She's looking at getting the Droid 2...if she gets it she will only go with the $15 month plan with just 150 meg's a month. Can anyone tell me if they are able to do this? She's LGVX9800 which has no data. If you just use e-mail, text, maybe weather-bug, and are on wifi when you can is it pretty easy to keep the monthly data under 150? Also if one gets near the 150 mark and there are 3 days left in the month is there a way to prevent the usage of more data?

There is only 1 European number I text so if I can count messages sent to just this number - In theory I will know how many I have left in my balance!
I have the date of several events expressed in milliseconds*, and I want to know which events are inside the current week and the current month, but I can't figure out how to obtain the first day (day/month/year) of the running week and convert it to milliseconds, the same for the first day of the month.

This led me to the Samsung manual (I don't own the phone) to confirm that it does have a week view (*phew*). My question is: How do you go to the next/previous day/week/month when you're in each view? Now here is my question : Is there an app that will send an sms to a preallocated number if the phone is booted up with a different sim? I know some Samsung phones can do this. But having an app that requires your own sim to be able to find it if stolen is quite pointless.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to find out what calendar to use on my home screen. I have the standard calendar widget enabled right now, but it's useless. It tells me I have something scheduled on each day, but that's it. The actual calendar app on my Incredible gives me kind of a bubble indicator for each day that is filled at different spots, depending on whether I have something set up for earlier in the day, middle of the day, etc. I want a full page widget that will do this, just having a marker that says that I have something on that day does me no good. I've also checked out some of the apps so far like Pure Calendar and while they are neat, they tend to tell me only a few days. I want the whole month laid out for me, so I can tell at a glance how busy any particular day will be. BTW, for anyone also wanting a widget with a layout on a day-to-day setup, check out Android Agenda, I use that for a text-based to-do list and it rocks, I just want a graphical one as well. I have stuff going on every day, but some are only 1 or 2 events, so the graphic layout is nice.

It was only last night that we were hearing that the Froyo upgrade for Spanish Galaxy S users would be pushed back till late October, yet today our emotions are swung back the other way by news of T-Mobile promising the exact same update by the end of this month. If our solar calendars are accurate, that means there'll be no more than a 10-day wait left for T-Mo customers using this 4-incher. We'll bug the other networks as well to see whether their 2.2 updates are in the mail or still lost somewhere in the frozen isle.
