I want to incorporate a full month calendar selector like that of an IOS into my program. The one like this: However, it seem no one have come up with a control like that. Can i create a custom control like this and if yes, what is the best views to use for each date? a button view or a text view?

I am trying to find out what calendar to use on my home screen. I have the standard calendar widget enabled right now, but it's useless. It tells me I have something scheduled on each day, but that's it. The actual calendar app on my Incredible gives me kind of a bubble indicator for each day that is filled at different spots, depending on whether I have something set up for earlier in the day, middle of the day, etc. I want a full page widget that will do this, just having a marker that says that I have something on that day does me no good. I've also checked out some of the apps so far like Pure Calendar and while they are neat, they tend to tell me only a few days. I want the whole month laid out for me, so I can tell at a glance how busy any particular day will be. BTW, for anyone also wanting a widget with a layout on a day-to-day setup, check out Android Agenda, I use that for a text-based to-do list and it rocks, I just want a graphical one as well. I have stuff going on every day, but some are only 1 or 2 events, so the graphic layout is nice.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have a question about the Calendar widget (the HTC one). I want to use the smaller of the widgets since I don't want the calendar to take up a full screen.
Is there any way to see more than one appointment without opening up the full calendar? You would think if you have multiple appointments in a day that you'd be able to flip through them from the widget, but you can't from what I can tell.
One thing annoys me; The date picking facility that seems to be built into the OS is pretty poor. The three scrolling wheels for year, month and date make it slow to use, and also difficult to work out what date to select if you want something that is, say, 1 week away from today (especially if that leads into another month). It would be better to have a "calendar month" style picker, where you can see an entire month in one go, and switch forwards/backwards a month. Does anyone know if it's possible to change this? Perhaps an app can be installed to replace the standard picker?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently got my hands on HTC Hero which happens to be my first smart phone ever (I was using the ancient Siemens M65 for a long time before that).And I'm currently trying to find a way to at least replicate (I'm not hoping for improving anymore) the organizer functionality I had on my Siemens M65.I've tried Googling, I've downloaded lots of various suggested apps, but I'm still coming up short.So I'll try listing things that I'd *really* like to have in an organizer app and perhaps someone could point me in the right direction.Of note is that I use organizer simply as a reminder engine. I don't plan my days on it, so I could care less for 'event duration', 'finding free time', and such functionality. I just want to have good reminder functionality.Features I'm looking for:
* Selectable snooze period when reminder goes off -- e.g. on my old Siemens I could choose between 5/15/60 minutes and 1 day. This seems to be sorely lacking in most (all?) applications I've checked.
* Easily selectable reminder date & time. Lots of applications seem to use that date/time picker that only has + and - buttons for choosing month/date/hour/minute -- this seems to border on unusable for me. Although if application is otherwise perfect, I can overlook that
* Notification (via widget or notification area or some such) when I have upcoming reminders today (or maybe today and tomorrow similar to HTC's small calendar widget). Smooth Calendar seems to be a good choice for standard Calendar app, but Calendar app itself is not ideal
* List of all reminders I have scheduled. This is something that seems to be absent from default Calendar app.
* Notification about reminders I've missed. Very desirable something that can be seen without waking up a phone (I think it is not impossible for application to blink one of the LEDs in case there's missed reminder). Definitely something that can be seem on home screen. I didn't test default Calendar app extensively in this respect, but it seems to do not display anything at all if you have missed reminder (although it seems to repeat the alarm after 5 minutes or so).
* Repeatable reminders would be nice to have, but it is probably least important item for me.
I have referred the article (at http://www.developer.com/article.php/3850276 ) for implementing the native calendar control, but i would like to display calendar also on the screen and also User can able to select date, and after selecting date user can also be able to event on that selected date.

Does anyone know of any app out there that can count how many sms have been sent to a particular number each month? my contract gives me around 70 sms to Europe and I don't want to go over this limit as it gets expensive!
There is only 1 European number I text so if I can count messages sent to just this number - In theory I will know how many I have left in my balance!
I have the date of several events expressed in milliseconds*, and I want to know which events are inside the current week and the current month, but I can't figure out how to obtain the first day (day/month/year) of the running week and convert it to milliseconds, the same for the first day of the month.

It was only last night that we were hearing that the Froyo upgrade for Spanish Galaxy S users would be pushed back till late October, yet today our emotions are swung back the other way by news of T-Mobile promising the exact same update by the end of this month. If our solar calendars are accurate, that means there'll be no more than a 10-day wait left for T-Mo customers using this 4-incher. We'll bug the other networks as well to see whether their 2.2 updates are in the mail or still lost somewhere in the frozen isle.

View 49 Replies View RelatedI'm a new Droid Eris user and have been using Google Calendar for some time.I have a single calendar set up which is syncing with the Eris.I can successfully add/edit/delete entries from both applications and have them show up just fine on the other side.I have a couple of recurring entries that I've since deleted in Google Calendar but are still showing up on my Eris.The unique thing about both of these entries is that they were meeting requests sent to my Gmail address and accepted from there.They have since been cancelled from the original sender and are now removed from my Google Calendar.My calendar entries are labeled as dark blue, and these two show as light blue.I cannot select them on the Eris to edit or delete them.

Unlucky for my my wifes phone crapped out this mourning. She's looking at getting the Droid 2...if she gets it she will only go with the $15 month plan with just 150 meg's a month. Can anyone tell me if they are able to do this? She's LGVX9800 which has no data. If you just use e-mail, text, maybe weather-bug, and are on wifi when you can is it pretty easy to keep the monthly data under 150? Also if one gets near the 150 mark and there are 3 days left in the month is there a way to prevent the usage of more data?
