Just curious, when checking the Spare Parts tool *#4636 etc, and noting partial wake useage since last unplugged, I am using in order.Why is the Dialer working when I'm not on internet?I have a widget to turn on and off the GSM/3g connection when i dont want to be using internet.Is the dialer process for internet or phone calls?

I got my HTC Desire delivered yesterday, but there is a slight problem I have noticed with it. Even after turning all possible vibration options off (i.e. haptic feedback and 'vibrate when you type' in text input), the vibratory mode on the phone dialer still doesn't go away. When I press the keys on the phone dialer keypad, it still vibrates. I have no idea whether it is a HTC feature or a problem with my handset.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI noticed a weird battery drain on my EVO over the last week or so. I've got the System Panel app, and it appears there's an internal process called "suspend" that is running the CPU at 50%-60% while the phone's supposed to be asleep.
I have the un-updated facebook app, and it doesn't have any login information anyway. The problem started occurring around the time I installed Pandora; have there been any reports of problems with that app? Alternatively, does anybody know what might be causing that process to chew CPU cycles?
I've fallen asleep when my phone's been in the charger a few times. Is that bad? It's happened maybe 5-10 times so far.....

My understanding is that 3G is only active when data is being transferred. But when WiFi is on and connected, it is ALWAYS on and connected.
Let's say I sleep for 8 hours at night, and I have apps that update every 30 minutes. Do I want WiFi to be connected for the entire 8 hours, or just let the phone use 3G for a total of 16 times (8 hours / 30 minutes)?
I'm on a limited data plan so it would be good if I could time my phone (hero) to turn 3g off when im in bed. I have locale but that only does wifi. Is there an app that will do the same for mobile data?

Here's another - When my phone is asleep (at least I THINK that's what it is), I don't appear to get the notification for an email or a text message. For example, I pressed the button to wake up the phone and all of a sudden I received a text message. The message was time stamped 4:45 but the actual time that I received it was after 5pm.

However, when I go to the dialer page the phone shows both phone contacts and SIM contacts resulting in multiple duplicate contacts from where I copied from SIM to Phone when I first got the handset. How can I get the vanilla (Nexus style) contacts and dialer on my Desire? It can store custom labels in even phone contacts. I had flashed to a LeeDroid 2.1 ROM earlier and noticed that it had the vanilla contacts and dialer in addition to the normal Desire Sense one. So I know it's possible. Lekky has also a link to the Nexus gallery app, so this gives me even more confidence that the contacts and dialer app must be available somewhere too.

We want to know how we can disable the default dialer so that it doesn't listen for missed calls, incoming calls and also it doesn't gets launched by other application for making calls instead our application gets launched. View 11 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else experiencing lag when using the phone dialer or when answering a phone call?When I go through my contacts and pick someone I want to call, I touch their name, and it takes a good 5-7 secs before it starts calling that person.Same thing when I receive a call. When my phone rings and I have an incoming call, when I swipe down, it'll take another 5-7 seconds after the swipe (since I guess this action lets you answer the call directly) before I am connected to that person.

However, if i switch to the favorites or contacts tabs at the top my phone will exit out of the dialer back to the home screen. I hope this is something that can be fixed over an update. Btw if i go directly to contacts from the home scrren it works fine.

Let's say one of those is in my contact list (my wife, for example), and she has multiple numbers (work, cell, etc.).I know i can click the little card on the left side, but it would be great to be able to swipe side to side on her to switch numbers, but that doesn't seem to work.You would think it would b/c there are little arrows beside the number for people that I have multiple numbers on.Is there any way to do this?

For example, most of my saved numbers include area codes (most of them are 'xyz'). When I type the first three of the 7-digit number (excluding the area code) no results show. It seems as though the area code must be typed in order to get results to show. Obviously, almost 95% of my contacts have an area code of 'xyz' and that's, IMO, too many buttons to press to start narrowing down to get a specific contact. Does anyone know how to change this?
