Is it possible to send all contacts in an HTC Desire as business cards to another Bluetooth device (particularly the Bluetooth phone system in a car)?
I've got an older car with a fairly basic Bluetooth system. It won't download the phone's phonebook automatically but I can put it into receive mode and then I need to work out a way to send all my contacts as business cars.

Im trying to send my contacts over bluetooth from my old sony ericsson but it doesnt seem to be going smoothly, i would say its all down to me! Basically i have got the bluetooth on for both phones, the desire is set to be discoverable and i try to send the contacts via bluetooth on the SE. I get the whole passcode and accept the file which i have done, but then it says again about accepting the file. Ive tried it a few times and i have 3 bluetooth icons at the top of my screen now which i imagine are for transferring files which need accepting. Is there anywhere i can to accept them or close them down?

I tried sending a picture from another phone to my handset (desire) and it received okay but when i tried sending a music file, it said sending and receiving but never came through, not even 1% of it.. but screen stayed on receiving part for ages before i got fed up and cut off.

first, I'm not big into the whole syncing my FACEBOOK contacts to my phone as it just creates a whole bunch of contacts that i don't want. and i really don't like the way android does contacts do you keep the contacts on your phone or sim card? i noticed my sim gets full but the phone does not. and the sim can't use foreign characters such as � � � which is annoying. do you use MS outlook, gmail contacts or the contacts thing on your PC to edit them? how can i delete some of the SEND MESSAGE entries? there are 4, one for each number but i only need one of them.Sim can't use foreign characters

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just bought an HTC Desire but i cant make the sync with HTC sync work. After af search of approximatitely 15 seconds a popup on the phone says that it can't find HTC sync on the computer. The USB connection works fine for file sharing. In my hardware monitor (dont know the english word for the window, but that in Control Panel -> System ->??? where you can see all attached devieces) i see a deveice called "My HTC" with a yellow exclamation triangle. I suspect the problem is here, but dont know has to solve it. The HTC sync has all button disabled so i cannot access the "Repair tool" i think there is in the sync manager.
- Disable all firewall(none), antivirus (Norton) and Spyware protection (AdAware) before installing HTC sync.
- Used "Run" -> "msconfig" to disable all non-MS processes and remove all starting app. Then restarted the computer and reinstalled (suggest to HTC to another user)..........
Just got my HTC Desire and previously had a Nokia E71. I want to use the 16gb sd card from my E71 in my Desire but what do I have to do to keep from losing info, and app info that's already on my Desire sd card? Is there a program that backs it up completely? I've heard that some people have switched just by copying onto PC and then back onto the new card, but have had problems with application data etc. Also, is the 16gb card going to run really slowly? Slowed down my E71 a bit but I'm assuming the Desire could cope much better?

In the past every other phone I have put a larger card in (most recently a blackberry curve) slow down massively when a larger card is put in (in the case of the blackberry 1gb to 8gb). Does this happen with the desire? If so is there any way to stop it as I want the storage but don't want to lose the performance?

I am trying to send a photo from my Android device to a laptop via Bluetooth. Right now I have a gallery on the screen where the photos are depicted. What I want to do is to click a photo and directly send it to the laptop. All the Bluetooth stuff works fine but what I don´t know how to do is to get the byte[] that conforms the picture that should be sent. Maybe that is not the way is supposed to be done, so please it would help if someone gives me some suggestions about how to proceed. I just need some guidelines, later I will investigate how to code everything. Once the Bluetooth messages reach the laptop is there something to do to "rebuild" the picture?
And secondly, by now I am copying the files to the drawable file of my project. Is it possible to directly get them from the folder where the picture I take are stored?
I wanted to send an apk to my friend but it says something like not supported filetype and therefore it's automatically rejected and it is not sent in consequence. It's not a problem with my phone but with Samsung i9000 dual core 1.2GHz with mali400. IMO we could fix it by adding a line but I'm not sure which file to edit. Weirdly he's able to send apk's. I can send apk files to everyone but him. His Rom is resurrection remix v4.0.7
