View 1 RepliesPardon my lay language, but have just got a new desire HD. I Love it in every way (yet to decide on battery life.....), except that i cant seem to open any more desktops.
The above perhaps isn;t the word- but im referring to the main desktop you get having pressed "home". You can then zoom out to view all 7 "desktops".
I would like a couple more of these desktops for different appts and widgets- how can i create these? Or is it not possible?
I'm looking for widgets that could occupy my last screen.I have already used HTc stock widgets that I like, plus Astrid tasks widget and extended controls 1x4 widget.hopefully something functional, cool and/or interactive widgets that are 1x4, 2x4, 4x4 or any large one.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhere can I find default styles for my widgets? Let me give you an example. In the Contacts application, when adding a new contact, at the very bottom there are two buttons that have a particular background. I have traced that to here: http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/packages/apps/Contacts.git;... and it would seem that that background is achieved by using style="@android:style/ButtonBar" on a LinearLayout. From what I understand, this is a system-wide theme default for button bars. However, what I am searching for is not a ButtonBar, but similar, so I tried searching for this ButtonBar in the documentation, hoping to find other similar styles I could use. I *thought* I would find it in R.style:[url]
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe widgets on my Cube U9GT 2 tablet running on Android 4.0.3 / Ice Cream Sandwich are huge. Please check out the attached screenshots.
I am using the default ICS launcher. I could not resize them by tapping and holding - there would not be any widget resize handles. I would like to "hack" the config files to shrink these widgets to a more sensible size.
I am using easytether on one of my desktops at my house. Everything works great except that the connection keeps dropping. At first I thought it was because I did not have IE up (use internet connection wizard so other computer access the internet through this connection) but I noticed it still drops connection even when I was surfing with IE. Anyone else experience this? Is there a timeout issue? Should I get a keep alive program like with using a standard modem?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI had uninstalled the Weather Widgets app with the HTC style flip clock because I had falsely believed it was causing some FC crashed on my Droid. When I re-installed it, it appears that the flip clock now defaults to a transparent backing with white lettering. Is there any way to get it back to plain white with black lettering? I haven't installed any extras...just the default. Attached is a screen cap of what the flip clock looks like now. I want to get it back to the traditional HTC style flip clock look. Any ideas?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI got my Desire last week and I am looking for the best programs and widgets there are, I'd like a better music player because the built-in one doesn't look great, I have an ipod touch and the difference in user-experience is so huge, the Desire doesn't compare and I wish it did. I'd also like some good games (racing, action, puzzle etc.) and anything else you think may be good. Also, is there a program to use the flash next to the camera as a flashlight? I think this would be really handy.
View 2 Replies View RelatedGot my Desire 2 weeks ago on T-mobile from the Carphone Warehouse. This morning I downloaded the over the air update and it all installed ok but I have a problem. For some reason, my desk clock, people and htc music widgets have vanished from my homescreens and widget menu.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis phone looks sweet, and my friends are impressed by the sleek looking widgets on the screens, but I don't have the heart to tell them that the widgets don't update automatically. This is most visible in the FriendFeed, and "News" widget, but I suspect may also affect the Weather and even the People widget. My "Background Data" and "Auto Sync" settings are on. For example my phone was at my home for most of the weekend, where I have wifi. But as of Monday morning, the FriendFeed is still showing Friday's updates.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIf I take my HTC handset to another country, will it charge me for just having it turned on (no 3G, apps, widgets or anything that uses the net in some way turned off). Cause I take it, it will try to find an Orange signal in that country if they do have Orange there so will it charge me for that? (I'm on contract by the way). Next question is similar to my last question. Can I still use my internet allowance from my contract (500Mb) in another country or will I get charged?
What is an unbranded phone? Is mine unbranded? I'm just gonna take a wild guess - since I purchased my mobile through a third-party site (in this case, e2save), those guys simply buy the airtime off Orange and get the handset directly from the manufacturer so is this an unbranded phone? What are the advantages of having an unbranded phone?.............
You know that you can get settings toggle widgets i.e mobile, WiFi, airplane? Well when I set up the widgets I see that it will have a certain image next to it for example with 'mobile widget' there is a blue planet type image, which I have seen other people have on screenshots via thread on here. However when I actually have the widget on screen its just boring black with 2 arrow pointing opposite ways. Anybody know why or how to change it?
View 4 Replies View Relatedonce installed, this app allows you to change the lock slider to various other options, lets you add widgets from other apps to the lock screen and also lets you add other shortcuts.there are lots of options in the settings menu as well.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am wondering what actually happens with all the apps and widgets that come with Sense UI. I assume none of them will work anymore once the Desire is rooted? Or will they stay and still be useable? Can you download them somewhere again from HTC for example and install on a rooted device?
I heard of custom Roms that will let you root the device and still use some HTC apps. Is that correct or is there no such thing?
Finally, a question that might be a bit of speculation currently. With HTC introducing the new www.htcsense.com website with features such as SMS backup for life, contact editing, app shop, etc.... some of the stuff like the SMS backup sound very interesting but now I am wondering if these features will be available for rooted devices. Anybody has any ideas about that?
Would be kind of unfair if rooted devices could not use this HTC service.
I'm looking for a ROM to install which has the Froyo launcher (I prefer the icons) which has all of the Sense Widgets? Im not sure if any exist?

View 11 Replies View RelatedA friend got a Desire yesterday and is having a rather odd problem with it - she put the power control widget on one of the screens, set the news feed to the BBC, and then downloaded a couple of apps (angry birds etc). When she downloaded these the powercontrol widget disappeared and the news feed 'unset' itself from the BBC.Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening or how to stop it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast week I started using LauncherPro Plus - excellent app and everything has been working well. until I installed Beautiful Widgets this morning.
1. Takes a long time to navigate from one menu screen to the next, often with a FC due to timeout.
2. When the widget finally appears on the Homescreen, it can't find my location (yes, I've tried all combinations of geolocation, GPS, town search, etc)
3. Weather will not update and the moon is always showing even though it's midday here.
I was so impressed with the skins for Beautiful Widgets - it's the last thing I need to complete my custom look using LauncherPro, and I'm very disappointed that they don't seem to work together
After seeing some of the great setups in the home screen thread I thought I'd give Beautiful Widgets a go but after setting it up and resetting a few times I still can't get the moon/sun or anything at all to appear in the widget. I've read that it just doesn't work for some towns but does the auto-location not work either? What format do you use for the UK location? Town, county, country ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I've downloaded the Tajm and Battstatt which are widgets and for some reason they're downloading directly to my sdcard. So while I have them on my homescreen and I reboot my phone they will not show up anymore. So I decide to move them to my phone memory and when I do they no longer show up on the widgets list anymore.
