I've read that it just doesn't work for some towns but does the auto-location not work either? What format do you use for the UK location? Town, county, country ?

Not sure the terminology for that bar, but on this picture it is the "Nested XML Layout" bar:
Is it possible to remove a title bar in a window after content has been set? Calling the method Activity.requestWindowFeature (Window.FEATURE_NO_TITLE) ends up in the exception: "requestFeature() must be called before adding content".
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I am using the techniques in this thread to use a custom background for my titlebar. Unfortunately the framework places my layout inside a FrameLayout (title_container) which has padding as seen below.
Is there anyway to remove the Grey borders? The frame layout is defined in com.android.internal.R.id.title_container, so accessing the frame by ID would be fragile.
Is there any launcher/Mod or app or way to do this?? I mean on launcher screen you tap twice (double-click) to hide icons and all the stuff on the screen, So only wallpaper shows?? I have this feature on my desktop (with Fences Pro).
View 3 Replies View RelatedEverytime i put my droid into the desktop charger and then remove it later, all of my desktop icons and widgets on all 3 screens dissapear.
2 questions:
1. is there a way to stop this from happening
2. if not, is there an easier way to fix it besides shutting down the phone and restarting it?
Moto droid, not rooted, have aquarium live wallpaper, beutiful widgets large, no launcher or home applications installed.
I loaded a wallpaper into the DCIM folder on the internal memory and after disconnecting from the computer, I changed the home screen wallpaper to this picture. (the one of the predator and alien playing chess). Now all 7 home screens are completely blank. No widgets or icons. Somehow everything on the home screens has been wiped. I removed the picture from the internal memory folder.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had a Motorola Droid since April and I am still new to it. I want to change my icons/widgets to something like this. I think it would look better. I like how the icons are a different color and such. The dialer and internet icons are at the bottom too. Dunno if it is rooted or not. Is this just some basic widget app or something?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a custom title bar that I would like to apply to all my activities. I have searched online and found a few ways of doing that however I have ran into a problem. It seems that despite the fact I have a TextView in my titlebar with id @android:id/title, Android will not use the value defined in the manifest in android:label for each activity. I tried also calling setTitle(R.string.myTitle) but it still will not render it! If I manually put some text in my TextView in the xml it shows up fine. How can I have a custom title bar that is linked and makes Android use my manifest values for labels? I do not want to lose the setTitle() or the XML attributes functionality.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a G1, love it, but it has a wimpy battery as many of us know. I have been wondering if widgets, desktop icons and even the choice of wallpaper, or picture that is used for the desktop background make any real difference in battery life. No matter how I use the phone, the display is always the main or at least major component of battery usage.
I read on an android website that desktop widgets do tax the battery and it was also suggested that having all three desktops full of icons also does so. Lastly, I was thinking that a black desktop ( I took a picture of a piece of black paper ) would use the least battery because the screen is not producing any light. Any input on these things ? If it would give appreciably better battery life, I would black out the desktops as I have done and not have any icons or widgets.
Is there anything i can use to change my icons.. use widgets.. with out using -Ahome.PandaHome.Dx.. etc..and if there is What should i use .. I wanna change icons for sure.. but i dont know how yet wanna get help ..

I'm setting up an app to use a custom title so I can get the proper logo into the title instead of just text, and to make it clean (since the logo has a flat black background), I also want the whole title bar to be black. My xml for the title is a framelayout to hold the logo inside of a linearlayout to change the background color, and I'm setting the title in OnCreate() as follows:
CODE:.........................
With this setup, the old gray from the old title bar still exists around the edge of my custom title. Appears to be on the order of 3-4 px on the bottom and 8-10 px on each side. Any ideas about how to get the black background to cover the entire area?
I just got to thinking and I realized that I change my layout each week, sometimes more then once in a week. I don't just mean add an icon or widget, i mean change icon appearances with BetterCut, rearrange icons/widgets...add/remove the amount of screens, change background images and lockscreens.....you get the point. so with that being said, how often do you change your eris layout???
