I'm currently facing a big problem causing me inconveniences.I've just update the samsung galaxy s3 software yesterday, then when I try to upload photos, I couldn't open anything, any photos, sometimes the albums will disappear itself, sometimes come back again.
I tried to remove my memory card or sd card and put it back again but useless.
Always stuck in the gallery main page, cannot even use return key/button.
I can't open gallery,video,paper artist,photos,music apps.
When i open the camera he dont show to me any that i can use for to make a foto or video.
I can't downlaod nothing from the google play, only from samsumg apps.
The touchWiz Home isin't resposing very ofen.He dont show to me the missed calls. Time to time generarl the phone freez and unfurtianly stop to work like (google search, internet, touchwiz home........).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought one Samsung Galaxy S wifi 4.0 and would like to know if any possibility to upgrade the "default" Android version 2.2.2 (Froyo) to a newer one.
It seems that a couple of applications out there do not run on this version. For example NDrive 11 says its incompatible with this and a HTC running 2.3.4 is compatible. Maybe the version or something else?
I already ran Kies and it says the version 2.2.2 is the latest.
I am using GingerBread for Samsung Note 1. My music player no longer updated the playlist when I added new songs to the phone.I guess there must be crash in the updating of the playlist database. Any method that I can use to determine how the crash happened and then I can try to fix it? (I rooted the phone )

I have lots of funny contact names because of the SKYPE nicknames. Also, some contacts are made from email handlers.
So to organize them nicely, I spent last few hours on my Gmail / Contact account, renaming, adding photos, merging etc... Except, that when I want to SYNC it. Not all of the contacts update, and some remain as they were.
I would trash them all and import new set from Gmail, but I'm worry that when I do that, it might trash my gmail contact as well
Also, is there any way to change the contact font size? I have many long names, and lots of contacts. The screen cuts most of the names off and many of the contacts share same name. I have to open the contact, to find out details in order to know who I'm looking for.
The version of the software that is most current is version 6 (the phone shipped with version 3).
To ascertain version: Go to Dialer/Hit Star/#9999#
You will see the PDA; Phone; and Software Version numbers in this section
The T939xxxx6 for PDA AND PHONE and then
Software Version - ending in .006 on the last line.
I was told that the reason that I keep seeing the "No update file exists" message when I check "update firmware" is because I have the latest version.
At some point my phone was updated without giving me a message. I did notice the red and blue arrows yesterday. But there was no message. My SD card mounted and dismounted on its own and gave an error message, and then all references to the error and SD card disappeared.
If your phone is/has exhibited this sort of behavior, you may already have the update.
Onee the " official" fryo comes out will I have to flash to stock then update or can I just apply the update to my rooted phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine rooted my samsung mobile Galaxy S I9000 with a android 2.2 version. I read information on rooting your device, in which everything is explained very well, but could not find information on how to update once a device was rooted (probably I did not search in the right place). What I did so far is:
1) Taking backup of my pics (by manually drag and drop the folder on my pc), SMS and call logs (with sms backup + app), syncronized my contacts with gmail so that I can recover them later on and backup the music folder. I installed backup Titanium to back up my apps on my SD card.
1) Which most recent version of Android is supported on the device I have?
2) Is there important information that I forgot to back up?
3) Is there a guide with step by step procedure on which files I have to download on my pc and which procedure to follow?
Yesterday I was having fun trying out the secret codes (like *#*#4636#*#*) and tried out the touch screen code. Then clicked on update (firmware).
Then the touch was not working. I tried taking out battery and putting it back on. Tried factory reset after backing up data with Kies. Tried rooting the simplest way. Tried to flash using Odin with a recovery and pit file. Still nothing is working.
Earlier today I got an OTA upgrade of my Samsung Galaxy S4 to Jellybean 4.3.
Everything is working great except for some reason my external SD card (A 64 GB SanDisk MicroSD) is read only. The only thing I can do with it is to format it. Otherwise all write operations to it fail.
I have tried two different cards and several different apps (Terminal, Astro File Manager for instance) and none of them can write to the device.
I am almost thinking it is a matter of a missing new permission but I can't find anything in the SDK docs about it (If this is the case that is fine because my main use of the card is a home made music player that I've written).
I was trying to update to 2.1 using the Sprint update tool and it froze. I tried again and my phone is able to go into download mode, but it isn't recognized by the update tool. I also cannot boot my phone normally.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, so I may be leaving the USA soon. I plan on unlocking my phone and going out of the country with it. I don't know how long I may be gone.maybe years, so here are a few questions.
1. I plan on going South Africa. According to this site, both the phone and 3g should work perfectly right? GSM World Coverage Map- GSM Country List by frequency bands
2. I have seen an app to unlock the Vibrant. It is by DaGentooBoy from XDA. Its called Samsung Galxy S Unlock. Would it be better for me to use this app or to just request T-Mobile to give me the unlock code. Are there any pros or cons for using either method.
3. If the OTA update or Froyo don't come out before I am gone, will I be able to get an OTA over wifi while I am in South Africa. Just to clarify, I will be using a local sim over there. I will discontinue from tmobile when I leave the US I know nothing of rooting. This is my first smartphone, so if possible I would be hesitant of doing any updates via the computer that requires me to loose all my info. I have too many apps and saved games and settings to download again so its just a scary thought of loosing it all.
4. Will google navigation work overseas. I have heard people say yes and no. I am hesitant to buy apps like co-pilot as they cost a lot and have mixed reviews, so I wanted to find out about this.
So here's my problem I keep trying to do the OTA update but I keep getting the same mesg communication to the server failed try back 24hrs,I did the manual date change trick twice and that did not work now it says 71hrs before I try again.

View 49 Replies View RelatedI put my phone on NPS and saw that there is an update. I was so happy and hit "Update" button fast. After downloading, phone reset, boot starting but no desk apearing. Only "SAMSUNG" word flashing on screen. There was no reaction on buttons. Battery out and in, phone boot and same thing happens. Try updating again but NPS said that cannot recognize the phone. Recovery button is disabled. After short browsing on this forum I saw some that there is combination of three buttons for turning on download mode. I try that and it works, but didnt do anything before thinking and some consulting here. What are my options now? Personaly I would like to have official update, if not then roll back is good option, if not what can I do to hack my phone without loosing any too much options on my phone?
