Jun 15, 2013I want to keep specific songs from different albums on my device for offline play, but i cant figure out how to do it, if its at all possible.
When i go to my library on my nexus 4 i can press the menu button on an album and keep on device but if i go over to the right to songs to see all the individual songs and press the menu button i dont have the option to keep individual songs on the device.

Feb 25, 2014In any Google play game I cannot view the achievements any more, the window flashes open, white, then closes. In the Google play app it will show the amount of achievements next to each game, ie 2/14, but clicking on my achievements shows a blank page. Leader boards still work though..Tried clearing cache, re-installing, etc. Last resort is to restore my tablet.

Sep 12, 2013I have played multiple games with no issues for years. Now the Play Games application appears so I started using it. A few weeks of use and now my leaderboards & achievement windows are blank in the play app and instantly close in games.
I have tried clearing cache of apps and services & uninstalling and reinstalling some apps. Is there a fix for this?

May 19, 2014My understanding is that I can use Google Now voice commands offline "as long as it was for something that doesn't need an internet connection to perform" like setting alarm and opening apps. and for that purpose I have to install the appropriate language under "offline speech recognition", which I already have it pre-installed on my phone.
The issue here is that while I'm connected to the internet via wifi, Google Now works fine, but the moment I turn wifi off and go offline, Google Now stops working! It still recognize the hot word trigger "OK Google" but after listening to my command it shows this response "Didn't catch that. Try speaking again".
I turn wifi on, and it works again! even though I used the same exact voice command! I have language pack pre-installed on my Moto G "running Kitkat", and everything seems to be in order, so why isn't it working offline?

I've seen SMS Backup+, but that separates SMS from MMS, so a conversation thread isn't contiguous.
I've also seen MyBackup Root, but it also splits SMS and MMS apart.

Feb 25, 2013I updated SDK Tools to 21.1 and Platform-tools to 16.0.1. Verified with 'adb version' that I am running v1.0.31. Windows 7, x64.
I have four 4.2.2 devices to test with, a Galaxy Nexus with unlocked bootloader but not rooted, and Nexuses One, 4, 7 & 10, all stock.
The Nexus One, being <4.2.2, works just fine with adb, but all the 4.2.2 devices show as 'offline' in adb, and I have NEVER seen the RSA security dialog pop up on the devices, even after several restarts of ADB (using kill-server), the PC and the devices themselves.
Have tried using different USB ports and cables. I'm using the standard 'Android ADB Interface' drivers from the SDK, but have also tried the 'Android Composite ADB Interface' and 'Samsung Composite ADB Interface' drivers too. I even completely re-installed the SDK from the ADT bundle.
Weird thing is, my colleague can get the popup to show on those same devices without any trouble. I even copied his adb.exe and dll's and tried that and it still wouldn't work on mine. He didn't install from the bundle; he installed ADT into Eclipse, the old-fashioned way, but I doubt that would make a difference.

Apr 16, 2013I made a purchase online utilizing my Razr this weekend and I saved the confirmation website page in my offline saved sites on my phone. I need to print a hard copy of this receipt and when I search on the device for the site I only find a .SKIA type file at the date and time of the purchase. I am assuming that this is the offline image of my save website, but now I can't figure out how to print it.
My phone attempts to search for a WIFI printer, but I don't have one available.
Is their a way to convert the .SKIA to a .pdf and then print it from my desktop or laptop?

Mar 14, 2013i am about to travel. I would need a working offline maps with GPS/navigation service. I have tried Google offline maps but it doesn't work with "direction" so I find it kinda useless. Any offline maps/GPS service with walking direction? Navigon is the closest thing to what I want but I can't download the south america maps from play store (they say it's not available for my country). I am thinking to buy NDrive considering they use the same database (navteq).
Does NDrive have walking GPS direction (and available offline) like Navigon? If NDrive doesnt do it for me

Jun 6, 2014I am coming from Windows Phone and everything went smoothly during the transition. However, I miss some useful functionalities I had with WP that I really miss on Android, like offline voice recognition and SMS reading.
I was using voice recognition in my car (where data connection is bad and unstable from which it is necessary to have this functionnality offline), I was saying "call [NAME]" and it triggered the phone call with confirmation of the command.
I would like to do the same thing with my Nexus 5 but I didn't find a way to do it. I downloaded the language pack for my language (French) in the parameters. Is it possible?
Anorther point is the reading of the SMS (texts). When a headset (wire or bluetooth) was connected to my WP, my phone was able to read aloud the content. Is it possible with Android?
