I am working on Eclipse and am looking for method to down load Android API's offline and then plug it to Eclipse
is there a method for that ? because my internet Connection drive me crazy.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've done plenty of research but alas I still can't deteremine whether Google Listener has the capability to download podcasts for you to listen to them at a later time, specifically (in my case) when without an internet connection.It works fine if you have a connection - you can listen to any episode of a subscribed podcast, and all is well - I can't falt it on this side of things.But I want to be able to subscribe and have Listener download episodes in the background when wi-fi is available so that I can then listen to them at my leisure - most often when wi-fi is not avilable (i.e. at work )The 'Download Settings' imply this is the case. I've selected the 'Download new audio' and 'Only on Wi-fi', which (to me) imply Listener should download and queue all new episodes whenever a wi-fi connection is available (but never via mobile data connection). But nothing downloads at all. All I seem to be able to do is to listen to an episode so long as I have wi-fi connection. I can;t listen to anything offline.

I am coming from Windows Phone and everything went smoothly during the transition. However, I miss some useful functionalities I had with WP that I really miss on Android, like offline voice recognition and SMS reading.
I was using voice recognition in my car (where data connection is bad and unstable from which it is necessary to have this functionnality offline), I was saying "call [NAME]" and it triggered the phone call with confirmation of the command.
I would like to do the same thing with my Nexus 5 but I didn't find a way to do it. I downloaded the language pack for my language (French) in the parameters. Is it possible?
Anorther point is the reading of the SMS (texts). When a headset (wire or bluetooth) was connected to my WP, my phone was able to read aloud the content. Is it possible with Android?
Nokia's OVI maps. By far I think it's the best offline GPS navigation app. It included downloadable maps categorized by country. And smooth search function and offline turn by turn navigation. (Best of all it was free)
Now my real question is: are there any apps for android that supports offline turn by turn directions and navigation that also feature downloaded maps?

My question is: Is there any apps that I can use to get coordinates by entering destination address without using phone data?
I'm working on an Android app in which I would like to use multi-touch. However, I do not want to completely leave out those still running a 1.x OS phone. How do you program the app so that you can use the 2.x multi-touch APIs (or any other higher level API for that matter) and still allow it to gracefully degrade on 1.x systems. If you create a project in Eclipse for 1.x can you even still access the 2.x APIs?
Basically I want it to show up in the marketplace and work on all 1.6 and higher phones and just allow access to the higher level functionality if available.
Also, if anyone can point me to any data on the number of 1.x devices vs. 2.x devices in use.
My understanding is that I can use Google Now voice commands offline "as long as it was for something that doesn't need an internet connection to perform" like setting alarm and opening apps. and for that purpose I have to install the appropriate language under "offline speech recognition", which I already have it pre-installed on my phone.
The issue here is that while I'm connected to the internet via wifi, Google Now works fine, but the moment I turn wifi off and go offline, Google Now stops working! It still recognize the hot word trigger "OK Google" but after listening to my command it shows this response "Didn't catch that. Try speaking again".
I turn wifi on, and it works again! even though I used the same exact voice command! I have language pack pre-installed on my Moto G "running Kitkat", and everything seems to be in order, so why isn't it working offline?

Is there an app out there that can backup SMS/MMS (either to Gmail or HTML) so that SMS and MMS are in the same thread (not separated), and readable without the need for the phone?
I've seen SMS Backup+, but that separates SMS from MMS, so a conversation thread isn't contiguous.
I've also seen MyBackup Root, but it also splits SMS and MMS apart.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI updated SDK Tools to 21.1 and Platform-tools to 16.0.1. Verified with 'adb version' that I am running v1.0.31. Windows 7, x64.
I have four 4.2.2 devices to test with, a Galaxy Nexus with unlocked bootloader but not rooted, and Nexuses One, 4, 7 & 10, all stock.
The Nexus One, being <4.2.2, works just fine with adb, but all the 4.2.2 devices show as 'offline' in adb, and I have NEVER seen the RSA security dialog pop up on the devices, even after several restarts of ADB (using kill-server), the PC and the devices themselves.
Have tried using different USB ports and cables. I'm using the standard 'Android ADB Interface' drivers from the SDK, but have also tried the 'Android Composite ADB Interface' and 'Samsung Composite ADB Interface' drivers too. I even completely re-installed the SDK from the ADT bundle.
Weird thing is, my colleague can get the popup to show on those same devices without any trouble. I even copied his adb.exe and dll's and tried that and it still wouldn't work on mine. He didn't install from the bundle; he installed ADT into Eclipse, the old-fashioned way, but I doubt that would make a difference.

I have recently started working on an app which has both Java and native components. I am trying to generate trace information for both components using Debug.startMethodTracing("myapp") and Debug.startNativeTracing() alternately.
However, both are behaving unexpectedly.
When I use Debug.startMethodTracing("myapp"), I can see a file /sdcard/myapp.trace being created but it is always empty no matter how long I run my app. When I use Debug.startNativeTracing() and start the emulator with the -trace <tracename> switch, I see a message saying "Trace started", but when I try to run my app, the
emulator crashes.
It seems a little ahead of tomorrows Google event.But I'm already getting many complaints that my app fails completely under Android 2.2.So that scares me a lot!Anyone know when the API might be released? Tomorrow perhaps?

I need to print a hard copy of this receipt and when I search on the device for the site I only find a .SKIA type file at the date and time of the purchase. I am assuming that this is the offline image of my save website, but now I can't figure out how to print it.
My phone attempts to search for a WIFI printer, but I don't have one available.
Is their a way to convert the .SKIA to a .pdf and then print it from my desktop or laptop?

i am about to travel. I would need a working offline maps with GPS/navigation service. I have tried Google offline maps but it doesn't work with "direction" so I find it kinda useless. Any offline maps/GPS service with walking direction? Navigon is the closest thing to what I want but I can't download the south america maps from play store (they say it's not available for my country). I am thinking to buy NDrive considering they use the same database (navteq).
Does NDrive have walking GPS direction (and available offline) like Navigon? If NDrive doesnt do it for me

Background: With Google Maps 6.9.0 it is possible to make certain maps areas available offline. As for Europe, this seems to be dependant upon where you attempt to make this happen. Most of Croatia (except Zagreb) seems to be unavailable, same goes for most of Italy except major cities.
