Games : Way To Back Up Zenonia Before Upgrading To 2.1v3?
May 2, 2010Copied from Eris forum, hoping to get some help for this. Also if it's not possible to save my progress thus far, will I at least be able to get the game without paying for it again?..here's the original, hoping to get some help with this so I don't loose this great game. I was getting ready to take the plunge to 2.1v3 and went ahead and used Astro to create a backup file of all my apps. I was looking through the file that astro created and noticed that Zenonia wasn't there. I tried it again and still nothing. Finally I looked at the file through system panel and it told me that the game wasn't archived. Is there a way to get around this? I don't want to lose the game (let alone the save file) but I'm anxious to get moving on 2.1v3.

Jan 15, 2013I've tried about a dozen "mono" apps and have found nothing that will do what I want. I have also tried the Droid Incredible and my current phone the GS3. I have a 2011 BMW and for some reason they didn't include a2dp in their stereo system. Nothing I do will force the stereo to play music or notifications, or read out lout texts through the car speakers. The only thing that will go through is phone calls.
I've accidentally discovered something interesting. If I am on a call through Bluetooth in the car and navigating at the same time, the navigation voice will come through the cars speakers as well.So what I need is something to trick the car into thinking my phone is on a call, thus triggering the Bluetooth to transmit phone sounds through the speakers, this way I can use a text message reader, music, whatever.
So the app/hack would need to emulate whatever the phone does with Bluetooth signals when it starts a call. All sounds the phone makes should go to Bluetooth.....which it seems like its already doing while on a call.

My primary goal is to modify the webkit WebViewCore java class method so my android application uses my own WebView which derived from modified WebViewCore and acts as I wish. The problel is that WebViewCore and entire bunch of related classes is not part of public SDK.
So far I tried:
- replaced android.jar from SDK in my project with "full" version (framework.jar)
- copied entire webkit java classes from Android OS to my project and modified the method as I need.
- included in lib/armeabi the libwebcore.so and libchrome_net.so (these I grabbed from rooted phone which I gonna to use for experiments)
- compiled and created apk file with libs included (in the code java layer calls my own libs using System.loadLibrary(..))

I got the framework.jar using BakSmali
edited the AudioService.smali file
generated classes.dex
merge classes.dex with framework.jar using 7-zip
push new framework.jar to my nexus5
change permission on framework.jar
I change the AudioService.smali so i can have 30 steps instead of the default 15 steps.The following is what i have after modifications.

Note that 0x1Et should give me 30 steps but my nexus 5 still only give me 15 steps on Music/Bluetooth.
Results:
I am still getting 15 steps while listening to music on both headphone jacks and Bluetooth devices.
I double check the total number of steps with some apps and confirmed that the original 15 was not changed.
I also double check if my framework.jar are pushed correctly by re-pulling the framework.jar and looking into the AudioServices file and they are all the newly modded values.

General :: Google Now Won't Work Offline
May 19, 2014My understanding is that I can use Google Now voice commands offline "as long as it was for something that doesn't need an internet connection to perform" like setting alarm and opening apps. and for that purpose I have to install the appropriate language under "offline speech recognition", which I already have it pre-installed on my phone.
The issue here is that while I'm connected to the internet via wifi, Google Now works fine, but the moment I turn wifi off and go offline, Google Now stops working! It still recognize the hot word trigger "OK Google" but after listening to my command it shows this response "Didn't catch that. Try speaking again".
I turn wifi on, and it works again! even though I used the same exact voice command! I have language pack pre-installed on my Moto G "running Kitkat", and everything seems to be in order, so why isn't it working offline?

Feb 25, 2013I updated SDK Tools to 21.1 and Platform-tools to 16.0.1. Verified with 'adb version' that I am running v1.0.31. Windows 7, x64.
I have four 4.2.2 devices to test with, a Galaxy Nexus with unlocked bootloader but not rooted, and Nexuses One, 4, 7 & 10, all stock.
The Nexus One, being <4.2.2, works just fine with adb, but all the 4.2.2 devices show as 'offline' in adb, and I have NEVER seen the RSA security dialog pop up on the devices, even after several restarts of ADB (using kill-server), the PC and the devices themselves.
Have tried using different USB ports and cables. I'm using the standard 'Android ADB Interface' drivers from the SDK, but have also tried the 'Android Composite ADB Interface' and 'Samsung Composite ADB Interface' drivers too. I even completely re-installed the SDK from the ADT bundle.
Weird thing is, my colleague can get the popup to show on those same devices without any trouble. I even copied his adb.exe and dll's and tried that and it still wouldn't work on mine. He didn't install from the bundle; he installed ADT into Eclipse, the old-fashioned way, but I doubt that would make a difference.

I need to print a hard copy of this receipt and when I search on the device for the site I only find a .SKIA type file at the date and time of the purchase. Jun 6, 2014I am coming from Windows Phone and everything went smoothly during the transition. However, I miss some useful functionalities I had with WP that I really miss on Android, like offline voice recognition and SMS reading.
I was using voice recognition in my car (where data connection is bad and unstable from which it is necessary to have this functionnality offline), I was saying "call [NAME]" and it triggered the phone call with confirmation of the command.
I would like to do the same thing with my Nexus 5 but I didn't find a way to do it. I downloaded the language pack for my language (French) in the parameters. Is it possible?
Anorther point is the reading of the SMS (texts). When a headset (wire or bluetooth) was connected to my WP, my phone was able to read aloud the content. Is it possible with Android?
