are there any good Android phones that support exFat or NTFS file system on the SD card right out of the box without rooting?
why android not support NTFS file system. I think NTFS more speeder than FAT and FAT 32 and other file systems. So is it technical or patent issue? I think NTFS file system developed by Microsoft
View 7 Replies View RelatedI formatted my internal sdcard to exfat by mistake while trying to simply format it(for some reason windows defaulted to exfat instead of fat32) now my sdcard won't mount and I can't format it in windows and can't mount it, I could get it back to fat32 and working again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently bought a SanDisk 4GB SD Card, format it to NTFS, I was able to copy large files like my Need For Speed SD Data, .apk files. Then I've checked it in my phone if it is success. But for some reason, .apk files were not showing up on the list, all I see is the SD Data of my NFS.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRunning 4.2.1 Supernexus on an i9100, I had a 32GB Micro SD card in the phone and when I had it connected to my computer I formatted it, except I foolishly set the format to NTFS. Now android won't read it (doesn't show up in storage) nor will it mount it when connected via USB so I can't put it back to FAT32/exFAT
Installed Paragon's NTFS mounting tool which mounts the drive but it's still not showing up in storage or being mounted via USB.How can I format it back to FAT so it will be read by windows and/or android? I'm surprised there is no SD Card formatting apps out there.
Just want to know which cell phones are good for android. Have a task of sending an sms at the moment, so can anyone help?

I'm using a Tecno T3 running android 2.3.5, and using a qualcomm msm7627a chipset, I've tried rooting it using one click methods but to no avail. so I came across a thread that says If I flash a cwm recovery, I can use universal gingerbread root to root the phone. I Dont know how to port cwm to my device, so I decided to use the cwm for the karbonn a7+ which uses the same chipset. will it work?

I have a GS3 for work and a LG Optimus G Pro for my personal. I'd love to just carry 1 phone. I found an app to forward text messages, I know I can forward calls, so all incoming communication works great.
Out going I use MightyText for send text messages from my computer. But is there a way to spoof my caller id of my other phone? For example my work phone? So that I can place calls from my personal as my work number?
We have 4 android phones at our house (2 HTC Wildfires and 2 HTC Arias). All four phones have been working flawlessly with the home wifi. Until today. For no reason at all, none of the phones will connect to the wifi. Nothing has changed. The phones have not been updated, the we haven't touched the router or the modem. Just to double check that the password hadn't been hacked, I fired up my laptop, and it's working great. The phones will "see" the signal, and report that it's excellent, they just won't connect.
I've tried battery pulls, recycling the wifi setting on the phones, resetting the router, changing the security type, double and triple checking passwords, and the only thing that would allow them to connect was to remove all security from my router and make it an open network. They connected to that just fine, but it's not something I'm comfortable leaving.
Being someone who started my smartphone journey way back with blackberry, I grew quite fond of the indicator lights on the phone to notify you of an email etc. So naturally after switching to ATT last year and getting my note, I was quite disappointed it didn't have one. Someone said this was an ATT thing and not a note thing. Is there a reason why ATT phones don't use the indicator light?

just about 3 weeks ago I went from an iphone 4s to the Galaxy S4, and literally up until a couple days ago everything has been going smoothly. Even texting. But recently , texts from an important number (a number that used to have no problem coming through) are not coming through. So I found since the other phone is an iOS device, and my previous phone was iOS, I had to turn off my iMessage and disassociate my Apple ID from my iphone. I did both of these things, but now this number that is trying to text me is saying the texts won't even send.

I am using two ics phones, Galaxy Nexus and Htc Sensation stock roms. I am trying to connect to my DVR devices through a 3g router using well known network ports numbers (>1024) for the dvr devices.
The network consist of 3 devices:
3g router: my domain com : 80
Dvr Device1: my domain com : 7687
Dvr Device2: my domain com : 5054
I can connect to the 3g router which is listening to port 80 from my android phones but not to the dvr devices using a 3g network.
But I can connect using the android phones if they are connected to a WIFI network or an Iphone (2g,3g,wifi), a Nokia symbian phone (2g,3g,wifi) or a Pc using adsl internet connection.
There isn't a port forward issue since I can connect from every device except android phones.
How to port Android onto phones? I can't find a lot on the internet...
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been running 4.2 on my Galaxy Nexus since the day it became available. With the new group messaging feature that was included I noticed that when conversating with friends who have HTC phones (Rezound and more recently DNA) their messages would come over separate. But iPhones, samgung, etc... would work just fine.
I thought maybe it was just a small bug with the phone but after flashing CM10.1 on my Note 2 I have the exact same problem.
I am making a new boot animation(noob to make one ) and I want to ensure if I make one bootanimation on a resolution for ex ( 720 width * 1080 height ) will it work on any other phone with any android on the same resolution?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFrom the online articles and the encryption description i was left with the impression that i will need to enter the password only on boot.Well appears that once encrypted the only active unlock options become, face unlock, pin and password. All take too long for my daily use, and since you don't have to use the encryption password for unlocking (the phone is decrypted on boot) but other options like face unlock, why we can't unlock with the normal slider screen or at least pattern unlock? Is there a way to go around it and enable the slider unlock on an encrypted phone?
i know that decreases the security, but knowing that if i lose my phone, chances are the battery will die, and they will need to decrypt it then...
My G2 was bootlooped so I switched back to my GNex for a couple weeks since I didn't have any time to repair it. Now that my G2 is back up and running, I want to add all of my new sms/mms that I got back into my G2 without overwriting the old messages.
I also want to add that this applies to group messages as well.
