View 2 RepliesI've recently bought a SanDisk 4GB SD Card, format it to NTFS, I was able to copy large files like my Need For Speed SD Data, .apk files. Then I've checked it in my phone if it is success. But for some reason, .apk files were not showing up on the list, all I see is the SD Data of my NFS.

View 7 Replies View RelatedRunning 4.2.1 Supernexus on an i9100, I had a 32GB Micro SD card in the phone and when I had it connected to my computer I formatted it, except I foolishly set the format to NTFS. Now android won't read it (doesn't show up in storage) nor will it mount it when connected via USB so I can't put it back to FAT32/exFAT
Installed Paragon's NTFS mounting tool which mounts the drive but it's still not showing up in storage or being mounted via USB.How can I format it back to FAT so it will be read by windows and/or android? I'm surprised there is no SD Card formatting apps out there.
I tried to format my 16gb SD card with NTFS so I could transfer a file larger then 4 gb. Android no longer recognized the SD card now. Does anyone know a way I can transfer a very large video file to my SD card and bypass the Fat32 limitation?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy application is designed to support both portrait and landscape orientations. Using my HTC IO device, it survives 12 orientation changes before throwing an out of memory exception while inflating my activity. When I follow the recommended procedure of using DDMS to first force a GC and then write a heap dump, and then load it into the Eclipse Memory Analyzer, there is only one retained instance of my application, as there should be. None of the other retained objects are obvious offenders. Just for yuks, I reran the test, and did everything the same way except I didn't force a GC. In this case I see 13 instances of my application, which is more consistent with throwing an OOM exception. Is this telling me something useful? If forcing a GC with DDMS reclaims the memory used by now-defunct instances of my activity, I would have thought the VM would have garbage collected some, if not all of these defunct activities automatically. Do I need to request GC at the very beginning of my activity lifecycle to make sure?

I have a screen shot that indicates my memory which is 1gb internal and 13gb sd card, but according to device manager that my system memory is full. I deleted the games that I download and still the same. How to delete some files and what is the cause of this? And why is my system memory is so low?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSurprised this wasn't asked yet as Google made it very clear 4.4 is made for lower memory devices.
As I'm running 4.3 on my Galaxy Nexus I'm faced with updating myself to 4.4 once it's stable and fully functional. However, I'm wondering if I should based on the memory usage. 4.3 started making my phone lag a bit and have slower UI between app switching and such. Similar issues to:
4.3 high RAM usage?
So, how much memory 4.3 uses in comparison to 4.4? It would be interesting to see how Google has based it's claim to a 512MB memory phone being sufficient while 4.3 may not be?
is there any app or script to force keep an app in memory to not to be killed.I want to keep Micro CPU Monitor in memory always, but it gets killed all the time, having plenty of free RAM.I have tried App Settings (Xposed module) and init script but all in vain my device is HTC One (4.42)

View 5 Replies View RelatedAbout a week ago i rooted my kindle fire with the teamwin twrp and flashed the eyecandy ROM. now when i wanted to add something that was 800 MB to my kindle (a game), it says all of my memory is taken up. i have 1 GB of songs and 1 GB of backups. What is taking up all of my memory and how can i remove it?
PS I only have 5 GB available and 4.5 are taken up
I have been having a major problem with my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. The internal memory of the phone should be 11.25GB (even though it should be 16, but I know how these stuff actually work), Surly I have an extra external SD card, but that's not the problem. The internal memory keeps being filled with nothing.here is a picture to demonstrate the situation:
As you can see the total space is 11.25 GB and if you count the applications, pictures, videos and miscellaneous files, they constitute no more than 2GB, which means that there should be no less than 9 GB left as available in the phone's internal memory, but as you can see I have got 5.84 GB available. How did that happen?
I have rebooted the system yesterday when the internal memory was completely full (even though I have only 2GB filled). And I have a feeling that by tomorrow I will get the memory completely full without downloading or adding anything on the phone.
And don't tell me I should clean cache or whatever that thing is, because I have already done that, and it's not working.
I've done some research, but haven't found what I'm looking for. To cope with the memory limitation of my phone, I move some apps to Rom with titanium explorer. Does the rom use the rom partition free space for something? Writting cache, and so on? I have a Xperia J and a X10 mini pro, and they both have around 20 Mb of free space on the ROM. Is it ok? Is there a "safe threshold"?
