View 8 RepliesI upgraded to Windows 7 on an older laptop. I plug my phone in and it doesn't recognize anything. I thought win 7 would pickup the driver automatically but I guess not. I tried rebooting the laptop and phone
do I need a driver? Android adb or sdk is it?
My work is setting up a secure webpage and we are expected to be able to access it 24/7 to log alerts received when there are server errors at work. To access this secure webpage we were given two certificates, one for windows (home use) and one for mobile ( a .p12 file which I've read is compatible). I cannot access the webpage via Android browser or chrome browser (or any other 3rd party browser). I've imported the certificate using the import feature in Settings->Security and it showed a brief notification that the import was successful. However, the certificate isn't listed in the "User" section of the trusted credentials list. Now, I would suspect that the certificate wasn't made correctly, but the same exact one works on a co-workers iPhone (pains me to say that). I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, rooted, but otherwise stock.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus currently. I also subscribe to Googles new streaming music. I have been trying to figure out how to play the songs in my car. We have a 2012 Chevy Cruze.
I have always been able to play music by putting the actual songs in the music folder.
I thought maybe if I used the function that puts the songs on the phone I would be able to search them up that way, but no dice.
Any workaround or a way that I can use the music off of the new streaming service in my car?
I have a very big problem with my samsung galaxy nexus. It started 2 weeks ago when I tried to turn ON my phone, and it randomly can't Load the system (Jelly Bean 4.2.2). When I try to Turn it ON, the Nexus Picture stock up (the green red blue yellow moving image suddenly stop) and then a MATRIX like will appear on the screen (sometimes around the nexus image there will be green lines and dots. And sometimes the whole screen will have green pixels/Dots). I thought that the system is damaged, after many trials of recovering the system, I Decided to do a factory reformat/ return to factory settings.
Since I can't access the system, I unlocked the phone , installed teamwin recovery system, and did a wipe of all the things inside the internal memory (that was the most stupid decision ever) since I lost the backup system image inside the internal sd card.
I decided all of that all because that the Galaxy Nexus don't have a external SD CARD. And since I can't do a recovery of my files (because I need to be inside Android to have a DB connection to the phone). I had no option than to wipe all System, Dalvik, Cache, and Data. Now I can't flash any android system since the Clockwork and teamwin need the android image to be inside the SD CARD. And I can't send/receive any file from/to the SD card. I already tried "Nexus Root Toolkit" and "Galaxy Nexus Toolkit".
One good thing is I did install an "ICE CREAM SANDWICH image" using "Odin" (Since that was the only image I found in the internet that can be installed using Odin, but there is no luck also, when the animation is loading, the animation suddenly stop and the phone restarts.
I bought a new Samsung Galaxy Nexus via ebay yesterday and it came with Android 4.0 ICS software. I went to "Settings >> About Phone" - No "System Updates" option available!!
how do I get this option or update my phone to the latest software Jelly Bean 4.2.2 without this option on the phone.
After I have completely cleared browsing data on my laptop (signed in on my Google account), deleted my entire Web History (google.com/history) and made a factory reset on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
Now after this, when I start the Google search app on my Nexus device and type a random letter - I still get suggestions based on my old searches. How can I completely clear my search history stored at Google?
Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I could send special characters (i.e: , , , , , ect) in text messages. Then, it wouldn't anymore. I believe my phone updated to Jelly Bean before it stopped, so it may be connected to that. When I try to send a message with any type of special character in it, the message simply won't send. No matter if I use the messenger than came on the phone, or the one I installed (Handcent). I still get the message just not sending. It'll send once I take the characters out of the message, though. I can normally receive messages containing special characters, but they sometimes it shows up as squares.
Mostly, I want to know if I can fix it. I understand that it may be the update, which I'll have to wait out. Or that it could be the phone itself, which in that case I'd just have to wait till I can upgrade again. It's just very annoying not being able to send accents or special characters. Especially to my Spanish only speaking friends.
I'm in the process of switching from an iPhone 4 to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus purchased direct from Google. I wish to setup my Yahoo account, but I've run into a problem. I can receive and send emails without problems, but I can't find a feature to automatically bcc messages back to myself. I do this so that I can synchronize Sent messages with my PC. Is this feature missing in Android V4.1 or am I just not seeing it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedGot a Samsung Galaxy Nexus that I continually use for Wifi Tethering. The only problem is that it tends to run hot and sometimes reboot since it's continually being used. Is there a way I can fix it with an app? Or is there a cooling dock I can use (like Laptops use)?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just switched from WebOS so I'm quite a noob to Android. Anyways, I bought a new Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.4.
Now to my issue: I like to watch video streams. The problem is, that the display will turn automatically off.
Solutions:
1. Play a stream with a video player - how can I do this?
2. Change settings so the display will not switch off on a stream, but will turn off when idle - is this even possible?
3. Turn off "turn off display when idle" setting - but I don't like this one.
I rooted my Galaxy Nexus and downloaded a CWM file and used the command prompt and according to the prompt everything is installed correctly, but how can I be sure it is actually on my cellphone? I need to know because I'm downloading the 200+ mb files now for 4.1 and I want to upgrade, but I have a fear I may not flash the zip files correctly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a VZW Galaxy Nexus. On 4.1.2 I can tether my Xbox wirelessly with success. On 4.2.1/4.2.2 I can't anymore. All ROMs and kernels fail. No configuration I try anymore allows successful tethering. Xbox reports the error that it can't get an IP address.
Can you wirelessly tether to your Xbox using Android 4.2.X, and if so, what phone are you using and what ROM and kernel.
I'm trying to determine if this is just a Galaxy Nexus issue, and if there is anything that will work with success. (I'm not the only person with this issue, but everyone I know with the problem has a Galaxy Nexus).
I am new android user i have this Galaxy Nexus i9250 it was updated yesterday to 4.1.2 and its not converted to 4.3 yet ! There is a small lock(opened) on my start screen(when i turn on my phone) below the Google logo. what does that mean? n my phone is not rooted !!
View 1 Replies View Relatedrecently I have received a Galaxy Nexus from A sibling because it had a defective charge port. I had replaced it (which included a new mic). I noticed my mic didn't work with phone calls (I understand that people were experiencing a muted effect, I cannot even hear a muffled sound. just fuzzy background recording) as well as with certain apps like snapchat. however with certain apps and features such as Smart Voice Recorder, and Text-to-speech feature, it functioned perfectly with clear recording. I have plugged in a external mic, as well as a two individual headsets with mic feature, and the same problem persist. I have even gone as far as to download the Soundabout app which allows me to decide what my primary recording device is, and still no resolve.

I encrypted my Samsung Galaxy Nexus several months ago and now I want to decrypt the drive and wipe the information. Nothing I have tried has worked so far.
The option to perform a factory reset through the OS has not worked. I make the selection, enter in my passphrase, the phone reboots into the green robot screen (like it was updating) then when it boots back up it asks me to enter in the encryption passphrase again and I do then it takes me to my un-wiped phone.
I have also attempted to reset it with the ClockworkMod Recovery and it will not work either. Giving an "Error mounting data!" message and similar message for the rest
I have my Nexus unlocked and rooted but it is running stock other than those two.
Is there a app that goes around tethering restrictions that work without USB cable? Would like to tether my Android tablet with my Galaxy Nexus.

I wanted to make my own bootanimation for the Galaxy Nexus. So i pulled a bootanimation out of the ROM i am currently using and replaced the png with my own ones (same size).
Then i pulled the bootanimation back to the rom and flashed it... But the animation doesn't start. At boot up the phone just hangs at a black screen and i had to restore from the backup i made...I uploaded the bootanimation. why it doesn't work?
I an an Android app developer and I would like to attach my Galaxy Nexus to a projector (with VGA input unfortunately) in order to present my applications to other people when they are many. In this case I don't want to just start a presentation or show images, but I want the projector to reproduce what the screen is actually showing.
Is this possible? If yes, how? I've seen that in USA it is possible to buy a micro-usb to VGA adapter that works with Galaxy Nexus, but it is not clear to me whether I'm able to see the screen or only media files. I think that a special app is needed to show the screen.

I own a Chevy Camaro SS 2012 that has Bluetooth handsfree built in. Works like a charm with my friends LG phone with Android, as well as with my company iPhone 4S.
But with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus running native Android 4.2.2 it will pair just fine, but I am only able to hear the sound and use the mic in the car, but not engage any functions nor access the contacts list. So I cannot answer calls, or make new ones etc...
The problem is not in the car as it works fine with other phones, and I've tried to reset everything on both the phone and in the car and then re-pair them, without any success. Nobody on the Camaro forums knows how to proceed.
