Aug 31, 2013Got a Samsung Galaxy Nexus that I continually use for Wifi Tethering. The only problem is that it tends to run hot and sometimes reboot since it's continually being used. Is there a way I can fix it with an app? Or is there a cooling dock I can use (like Laptops use)?

Dec 28, 2012I am trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy Express to my W7 PC with a usb cable. I was able to do it last week. I have changed nothing. Suddenly, it won't connect. But it does charge when connected to the PC. It also does not work in my W7 laptop, though it charges in that also. Further, my wife has an identical model phone, and it works in both computers. And just for fun, I tried two different usb cables, not that I even expected that to make a difference.
I have been through the abysmal tech support attempt - which basically told me to do everything I already tried from a google search. Settings changes, all that junk.

May 20, 2014I've been trying to root my phone using Odin then my cable got disconnected. Now when I try to start up the phone it starts with CWM-based Recovery v6.0.4.5. I downloaded stock rom for my region and tried to install it from the SD card but it says "Installation Aborted". I tried formatting the SD card but didn't work.

Aug 8, 2012Ive been looking everywhere for about a week now and searches tend to only display info about google voice OR tethering not google voice specific to tethering which is my issue.
I have a Nexus 7 with PDANet Tablet and Google Voice and I have my (cheap) smartphone with PDANet and FoxFi
I can pair my phone and tablet up just fine and do a bluetooth tether with no issues I use it with Spotify while in the car daily. Other apps and Chrome work fine I can do pretty much whatever using the tether.
But when I try to send a txt with GV from the tablet it just says Queued and never ever sends.

I would like to tether it to my phone for internet. Preferably for free.
I see in research people talk about Wifi Tether and FoxFi. There is also a Bluetooth option I have read about.
The complaint is the upgrade from 4.1.2 to 4.2 caused the Bluetooth method to fail with no fix. Claims said it still works with 4.1.2.
The problems seemed to be related to cross versioning of the phone and tablet.

General :: SC 06D Galaxy S3 USB Tethering DNS?
Jul 2, 2012Has tested the USB tethering feature built into the Galaxy S3 SC-06D Docomo ROM version? The Wifi Hotspot seems to work fine (private IP addresses), but the USB tethering uses a 5.x.x.x IP address and the DHCP does not assign a DNS IP address. I have tried to manually enter DNS IP addresses but I may be using the wrong one because it might have to be local to NTT's network.
I never had this problem with USB tethering my SC-02C Galaxy S2.

General :: Galaxy Tab - WiFi Hotspot / Tethering Suddenly Not Connect To Internet
Jan 10, 2013I've had a Galaxy Tab for 2 years, and used it, very successfully, as a wifi hotspot from May until July this year, when my laptop was suddenly not able to connect to the internet via the hotspot. It connected just fine to the Tab, and has no problems on my home wifi. The Tab was still able to connect to the internet normally, with no apparent problems.
I fiddled about a bit and thought perhaps it was a hardware problem, so bought a seconhand Nexus S. That has been working fine until yesterday, when the exact same thing has happened - the laptop can connect fine to the Nexus, but says there is no internet connection. The Nexus itself is connecting just fine.
I'm in the UK - my carrier is Three (Hutchinson).

Jul 6, 2010Has anyone else notice the slow tethering speed on Froyo (FRF91)?I ran speedtest on 3 devices while tethering is turned. Here are the result:Nexus One (the tethering host device): 2Mbit/s down, 600Kbit up.My laptop on WIN 7 (connect to the hotspot): 200Kbit/s D, 600Kbit up Ipad (connected to the hotspot): 400Kb down, 600Kb up.The slow speed really annoys me. Even youtube is not watchable at the lowest quality setting. However, the upload speed is actually stay unaffected in all 3 situations, which made me think somehow the speed is controlled by Froyo.

Apr 28, 2013I have a VZW Galaxy Nexus. On 4.1.2 I can tether my Xbox wirelessly with success. On 4.2.1/4.2.2 I can't anymore. All ROMs and kernels fail. No configuration I try anymore allows successful tethering. Xbox reports the error that it can't get an IP address.
Can you wirelessly tether to your Xbox using Android 4.2.X, and if so, what phone are you using and what ROM and kernel.

I noticed my mic didn't work with phone calls (I understand that people were experiencing a muted effect, I cannot even hear a muffled sound. just fuzzy background recording) as well as with certain apps like snapchat. however with certain apps and features such as Smart Voice Recorder, and Text-to-speech feature, it functioned perfectly with clear recording. I have plugged in a external mic, as well as a two individual headsets with mic feature, and the same problem persist. I have even gone as far as to download the Soundabout app which allows me to decide what my primary recording device is, and still no resolve.
