recently I purchase htc desire xc dual sim phone .phone is just ok.not bad not good. there is lots of crap apps on this phone I want to remove those apps. but without root this is impossible.is there any way to root this devise.at present I am using htc desire xc and htc one with viper rom with s off.(worlds best phone).

I just downloaded a simple file and uploaded it with Astro to root my phone before I ever put a custom ROM on it. I'm just simply trying to find a root for my friends phone that doesn't involve needing to make a nandroid backup ect. like I did with my Ally. Does anyone have a simple root file that I can upload on my friend's Hero? He has the 2.1 update... also does anyone know of any custom ROM's for his phone that have the 2.2 update? If so, then I will go through the trouble to make his recovery, backup and flash the ROM (which should already have the root), but if not, then it's only worth getting a simple root.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIf I ever figure out how to root my cellularsouth hero, can i or should I download and install 2.1 when we finally get it from my carrier? Will it just over write what I have on there or will it need to be flashed back to stock? There really is no way to back up the OS from what I can tell. When i jailbroke my iphone an upgrade just put it back to factory default with the upgrade. I don't think it works like that with Android right? Because of not baing able to back up the phone before hand i worry about bricking it.
I am also wondering since there is so much trouble rooting the cellularsouth version of the hero, if it is even worth it. By the time i or someone else figures it out 2.1 will be out and then it may be a long time to get that rooted too. Sometimes I wish this company I am with was not cdma. cdma seems to have the most trouble getting rooted. But we do get great signal and service, but thats about all with this company.

Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'

Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.

2.Flashed twrp recovery using d All-in-one-kit-for-Htc-Desire-X
3.booted in d recovery...installed d superuser manually included in d All-in-one-kit-for-htc-desire-x as the perm root wasnt working..
but d device isnt rooted...moreover d app superuser su says "cant find d su binary" i want to install a custom rom badly..
