View 1 Replies View RelatedMine is a froyo 2.2.1 device (ViewSonice VB730), I tried z4root, instant root, DPRoot, and many many many rooting apk but it is not working, some of them are FC or some of them are stucking in "attempting to apply root" I tried to use SuperOneClick but since I can't find a suitable driver for it, so when I use "adb devices", the list is empty.
I also checked out about some article about how to manually root a devices with PC, seems I have to copy the necessary file first to /data then run the exploit. Since I dont have the driver, I tried to do it with Terminal Emulator and tried to grand access right of /data but failed.
cd /data/
$ ls
ls: can't open '.' : Permission denied
$ chmod 777/data
chmod: /data. Operation not permitted

I'm trying to create a digital jukebox on a tablet computer and play wirelessly through my old school hifi system.
1) Samsung BD-8900 smart bluray player
2) Samsung Google Nexus 10
The objective is to put all my old CD's on the tablet and then link through to the hifi via the smart hub on the bluray player.
a) A good jukebook ap for the Nexus
b) How best to get my CD's onto the tablet
c) How best to throw connect from the tablet to the bluray player / smart hub

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just gotten a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to go with my S3 and now that I have more than one device floating around my house, I'm wondering if there is a better way to share files and data among them than to hook each to my computer separately and then transferring stuff around by USB. I'm looking into Kies, but in the past, I've never been able to get it to work correctly, so I'm not sure if this will work any better on this attempt. Am I on the right path, or is there something different / better than Kies that I could use to have all three devices available on the network for sharing?
I guess I should probably ask if what I want is even possible... I'd really like an always on type of networking where as long as the device is online, I can push data back and forth (ie if my tablet is at home sleeping, and there is a file I want to get from it, I can access it from my phone and vis versa). In addition to that, I'd like a similar connection to exist between my two mobile devices and my computer so I can transfer files back and forth with the computer without having to take up desk space by connecting the device with USB.
I've read a good amount on how to stream content from your computer to an Android tablet or phone, but is there a way to go in opposite direction? I'd like to wirelessly play the podcasts on my phone to speakers in my Thunderbolt monitor.

Whereas existing binary error warning, but I immediately start. Every time I go to download my photos from my phone (both SD card and internal), I end up downloading thumbnails and images from websites I've visited as well as people's avatars from foursquare. I end up having to delete hundreds of images every time I want to download my pix.
Any idea how to disable the downloading of the web stuff? (Can the phone differentiate web image from photos I've taken from the camera?) I've tried from both the phone side and the computer side and I can't figure it out. Also, is there any way to get my phone to stop storing these web images? I don't think I need them, do I? (I'm a newbie smartphone owner if you couldn't tell!)

View 1 Replies View RelatedTablet is a GT-P7500 Samsung Galaxy 10.1...Was going to be installing a new ROM on my tablet, problem is I though I had transferred the files onto the old tablet, but I had accidentally transferred them to my new tablet. So I opened up CWM and wiped everything. Then went to install from zip and the files weren't there. So I cant boot back into android to transfer the files. I can't boot into adt either and sammobile new hosting site terafile wont allow me to download any of the original files to flash with odin as it keeps coming up with Wrong IP.
Currently it loads to the splash screen showing Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and sits there.Any links to a ROM I can flash through ODIN. Or a way to transfer files onto a dead tab?
I was wondering if there's any way to put restrictions on a Samsung galaxy tab such as only being able to use the web browsing ... So i would like to disable the use of the android market etc. For school purposes (dont want my students playing games downloading etc etc).

I've already tried to change the USB settings, so that it would pull Mass Storage, and it wouldn't do anything after the fact. The computer has no notification pop up when I plug it in. I'm going nuts here! And I only have two days to do this because I have a long trip ahead and I'm trying to sync music to it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Galaxy Note SGH-i717 isn't getting recognized by all of my computers running either Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit or Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.This all started after my dog knocked off the phone with her Chuck Norris-like tail, and it sent the phone to download mode. After I got the phone off Download Mode, the phone sometimes doesn't charge, it keeps on thinking it's connected to a dock or a MHL device, and of course it won't get recognized by a computer. i planned on putting CyanogenMod on it, after I heard that the 4.2.2 rom went to a stabl status, Odin doesn't detect the phone is in Download Mode either.there is absolutely no thread for the SGH-i717.

Google Search says "Unusual traffic from your computer network" and WON'T SEARCH. This happens even if I try type in the search or use voice command.
Here we go: Go to Home screen, get into "Settings", then "Applications", then "Manage Applications"In my list, I selected Gmail, then "Clear Data" (when this option is available) and "Uninstall updates" (may be only "Uninstall")I did the same thing for the following apps:Google Play BooksGoogle Play servicesGoogle Play StoreGoogle Search
Then I powered off the phone, waited 10 seconds and restarted. I let it reboot completely and then the 'update' notifications appeared on the Home screen. I updated each app carefully, and let it settle, then updated the next, until all were updated. Google 'Search' now works perfectly!!
I tried flashing a stock Android 4.2 JB ROM that seems legit. After flashing, I rebooted my device and saw the standard Nexus boot animation. So far, I though all was well. It's not. My phone has been stuck in this constant booting state for hours. I pulled the battery after an appropriate amount of waiting and held down the power and volume down+up button. Instead of booting into Fastboot mode, it went straight to Odin Mode. All I can do with my device is boot to Odin Mode or watch the Nexus boot animation over and over again.

I have a Nexus 7 tablet and every few days I notice a few new apps on the device. I'm not sure if they're full apps or just simply icons to download apps or get more information. I have tried to avoid using them. I know previously I had a couple apps that were sending notifications to the notification system that I considered to be spam. After some research I found out how you can find out which apps are doing it and disable notifications from those apps so that took care of that.
