when I try to access some of my contacts, through the contacts app. A message appears saying 'Unfortunately Contacts has stopped' ?Yet I am still able to make calls, send texts and emails to that contact, just can't access the information.

I have a T-mobile prism II (yes I know, not the best phone in the world) and I have the most recent version of the Google search app and I have downloaded the Google launcher, but every time I attempt to use the Google experience launcher, I get an error message saying "Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped."

I am having trouble playing YouTube videos on the application and the website. It will play about half the video and then it says there was an error and it just stops. It does it on the market app and when using the browser. Does it on WiFi and 3g. I've true hard rests reinstalling to no avail. It pretty bad I have to use my wifes hero to watch YouTube videos. Anyone know whats going on? I can play short videos like under 5 minutes ok but any longer and its like the phone stops downloading and when the video catches up to that point I get error. I am still in my 30 day window so is it my phone or is everyone having problems? Thanks
View 15 Replies View RelatedI recieved an error two days ago saying "out of disk space". After restoring my phone to factory the ability to receive MMS/SMS went kaput! Surprisingly I can send but not receive messages. I was on the phone with Sprint for hours with to technicians. One of the techs implied that some of the early batch of phones from Best Buy have this issue. This is just one of the techs viewpoint. I am going to swap the phone today and see if it resolves the issue. I switched to Sprint specifically for TEXT so this could be a deal breaker. More to follow.

It started this morning after I did the prl update. When I hit force quit the error keeps appearing and appearing.
I am on a debranded Orange handset running Android 2.2. Had the phone for around 4 months without issue. I went to London last weekend and started noticing problems with the mobile internet. I was largely relying on it to get me around but the mobile internet is playing up. Even if I have H or 3G signal, my phone has suddenly stopped getting internet access or i get network errors. Nothing has changed on my handset and I usually get good signal wherever I go. I'm currently in work where I always get 3G symbol. I have the 3G symbol now with both arrows animated yet my web browser won't load anything and the market place just says I have no network access. Could this be something to do with the Orange/T-Mobile merge? Or has my phone died on me?

I have added the pushpin.gif in the drawable folders which is inside the resource folder. When I run it on the emulator the force close errror appears. I have also made sure that I add <uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps"/> as a child of application which was given as an earlier solution by a friend on the discussion group. Still the error persists. I guess the code is fine.

I recently have started to experiencing the infamous 'Unfortunately, Email has stopped" error with my Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro. The phone is using Jelly Bean 4.1.2 with Kernal 3.0.31-1371191. I have been able to use the native email application to check my email for easily the last year. However, last week, it has started to produce this issue. I am not sure what changed that has started to trigger it. I normally do not install updates, but as of a result of the error I have installed all updates to current to no avail. Allow me to explain what is happening and what I have done to attempt to resolve:
1. When I open email, I can see all my unread/read email for the various mail folders. When I attempt to open any individual email it hangs for a moment, then crashes with the above message.
2. When I attempt to compose an email it crashes with the above message.
3. When I attempt to add another account, after entering the email and password it crashes again with the above message.
Things I have done:
1. Restarted my phone
2. Force stopped email
3. I installed all the latest updates, even installed the 'at&t messaging' application.
4. I have since attempted to clear data and settings for email.
5. I additionally removed my accounts and attempted to re-add them. However, I am again greeted with the crash. So now I have even less functionality then I had previously.
Out of the blue, my Gmail contacts stopped synching to my Incredible. Mail works fine, as does my calendar, but the contacts that were there this morning are still there, but the last sync is about 12 hours old. Tried a manual sync and it doesn't sync...just sits there. Using Google Apps Premier and the Gmail contacts sync fine with my Apple Address book, but just not my phone. I was going to delete the Google account and add it again, but when I try that I get a tutorial that the only way I can do that is to reset the phone to factory defaults. I don't want to reinstall all the apps I have on this phone...surely there is something else going on. Any ideas?

I seem to remember it wanted to update about a week ago, so I hit ok and then the update failed. It has not asked to try and update again since then....
The phone will display this message upon start up and also will occur at other seemingly random times.
The phone works fine after pressing force close but does anyone know how to stop this annoyance?
I just installed the ContactSync app on my Hero, and all my contacts are easily been transformed into google contacts. But when I try to sync contacts with Google, it thinks a bit and then comes with an error message:
"The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
When I go into my gmail contacts, there are only 57 contacts out of the 173 I have the phone, plus some of them in my gmail has duplicates.
Had done a backup of my contacts using Secure Wave. Made as a CSV file via Secure Wave, which I could then import in my gmail. Fine, so now I had about 240 contacts in my gmail (Around 80 more than I had on my phone?)
That caused a bit of a problem since they apparently don't work in the same way.
So now I hava about 50 numbers that are now called "Mobile" when they on the phone was called "name Mobile" and a lot of unknown numbers labeled on the cell phone as they only had one name on the phone.
But i guess all this can be solved with a lot of editing on the computer. But then when I go into "view" menu under contacts it says I have 352 google contacts (should be about 173) and none phone contacts (Which is fine since they all got converted into google contacts) :S, plus when I'm inside contacts and look, I get the following error message every time my phone tries to sync with google:
"The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. And then I can just press "Force close" after which I will return to my Home screen.
Someone who knows what went wrong and how I solve it?
Hope all this made sence, since most of this is turned into English from my danish post in another forum, using google translate.
For 1-2 weeks I cant sync my contacts with google any more.
I have turned auto sync off and just try to do it manually�
It tries for like 5 sec then says "there is a problem with sync, it should work soon, try again" or something like that.�
Now this HAS worked before, even after I updated to 2.1, but now it just wont.�
Think its a great way to keep a backup of the contacts.�
Manual sync for Gmail in the same menu works fine.
Until two days ago, my magic connected to my home wifi fine. Suddenly, it stopped connecting. It does show the wifi icon as if it IS connected, but whenever I open up the browser, or the market, or meebo etc. it acts as if it's not online. The market, for example, tells me that "A network error has occurred."Curiously, I do still get gmail notifications (I don't think that happened through my provider today, cause I'm on pay-as-you-go and all out of cash). My router is an awful BThomehub 2.0 which I can't change for a number of stupid reasons. I tried changing the channel on the router but no luck. Whenever I try to connect through using WeFi Connect, it tells me that it can't verify the connection. The only two apps I have which can fiddle with the wifi settings are the wifi on/off gadget and the aforementioned WeFi Connect, both of which I had when my wifi was still functional. Once again, I did not change any settings at all either on the router or the magic when my wifi stopped working properly.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was trying to make a call today, but every time I pressed contacts a TouchWiz style error message would pop-up and say "Initializing, try again later." The wording may not be exact, but that's pretty close. Then it would dump me back to the home screen. I ended up rebooting and now it works fine. But when things that should be a basic function of the phone don't work, I get kind of ticked off.

I looked at the number and it start 447xxxxxxxxxx I went to edit the number in phonebook and it's fine cos it starts off as 07xxxxxxxxx, i have to edit the number each time i wanna ring these person now unless they're in my previous call list! They are linked to their facebook profile but they don't store their number of facebook so why is it being converted to 447xxxxxxxxxx if it has the + before the 44 i think it would be an issue! View 1 Replies View RelatedBeen searching around for a while and found some posts with no replies on other forums for this annoying issue.I have my contacts linked manually with my Facebook friends list. Pictures are working and everything seems fine on that front.In the link screen I can hit the drop down to choose the contact name to display in the People widget, and I can choose between my phone contact name and the Facebook profile name.The problem is that if I choose the Facebook name (usually first and last, which I like, since in my phone I have some people in under nicknames, or just first name, etc.) it only temporarily remembers that change. Within a day or so I will open up People and the display name will be back to the original.
Example:
Contact in phone named John, linked to a facebook account called John Smith
In the Link screen I click the drop down for his name, and choose John Smith (which is labled as a facebook account) as the Contact Name The next day when I open People the contact is listed as simply John again.Anyone have any ideas?I don't want to go through my whole list retyping peoples names, especially when there is a feature that should make it a simple pick list.
I have ran into a couple of my users having problems syncing their Outlook contacts via Exchange 2007 ActiveSync once their number reaches into the thousands. When I reduce the number of contacts in their mailbox down, synchronization resumes. Does anyone know of a limit that android has on contact synchronization? I've seen this on both the Droid X and Incredible.

I am using ContactAccessor abstract class to seperate out the SDK versions.
My code is running fine for 2.0 onwards, but when I am trying to build the code in Adnroid 1.6 I am getting the following errors:
Build.VERSION_CODES.ECLAIR is not resolved.
Getting errors in the whole class in which I have used Contacts APIs from 2.0 (say in class ContactAccessorSdk5.java).
How to resolve these issues?
I want to run my App on both the versions.
Was planning on rooting today but as i went to sync my contacts i realized i got an error message that says "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." did a battery pull and nothing happens. Will it start working again "shortly" or is there a fix?

I am new to the forums, hoping someone is able to assist me with some Exchange Server Contact sync problems. We are running Exchange 2007 (w/ SSL) and my mail and calendars sync no problem. But when it does the contacts, I get the error "Synchronization is experiencing problems" with no further message to the error. I have tried over WiFi and with the carriers network. This is on a fresh wipe of the device, I have tried deleting and re-adding the exchange account to the device but with the same error. I get approx 6 of my 325 contacts synced.
