Jan 7, 2010Doesn't this phone support the direct dial shortcut on the desktop? I am trying to add contacts on my desktop that I would like 1-touch access to but the only way to add a contact is using the shortcut to contact. Clicking on that opens up the contact details and then I have to click on the number I want to call and select call or message. Is there any way to add a particular number for a particular contact directly onto the home screen? I know that the MT3G used to have a shortcut to direct dial option. Is there anyway to get that on this phone

May 4, 2012I just got a Toshiba Thrive and I can't load ZDbox on it. Play says it isn't compatible with my device. I don't understand how I can load it on my Atrix, but not my tablet.
I got a direct download to v2.1.115, but if I try to update it, it sends me to Play which then won't allow me to update the app.

Oct 16, 2013I've used XDA many times before, normally for specific questions on ARHD ROMs.
I work on a cruise ship and we're continually crossing time zones. Currently, to alter the time zone on my (rooted) HTC OneX, I need to pull down the notifications tray, select settings, scroll down and select date and time, then select time zone. I can't use the Auto function, as the network time on the ship (satellite) is only available over Wi-Fi, for which I have to pay an exorbitant rate.
I'm looking for an app that will allow me one-tap access to changing the time zone. 'Time Zone Widget Light' almost does the job, as a tap on the widget scrolls through pre-set time zones, but this only allows me to step forward, and sometimes I need to go backwards as well (sadly our ship itineraries refuse to follow pre-set time zones, although I'm working on it!)
Any app, or perhaps a toolkit that lets me drill down to sub-layers of the android settings menu and create a short-cut?

Apr 13, 2013basically I'm running FreeXperia's CM9 on my Xperia U, and it doesn't recognise/support my network (carrier) which is Virgin Mobile UK, an MVNO.
I believe this is a general issue with Cyanogenmod, my phone works but it says no service instead of the network name, it's seriously annoying. Cyanogenmod has the Virgin Mobile apns in it's apns-conf.xml, but it won't use these as it can't see that that is the network I am connected to.
Basically my phone should display:
Virgin = when using T-Mobile UK
virgin = when using Orange UK.
Instead it just says no service the whole time?
I'd like to add support rather than just use an app to change the text.
MCC - 234, MNC - 31 and MCC - 234, MNC - 32.

Right now I'm on Sprint's cheapest plan, and I don't want to upgrade to Sprint's data plan which would cost me $50 more per month. I know that a direct purchase would be more money, but assuming I have the phone for two years, it can't be $1,200 more ($50*24). I'm only going to use the web features at home or in the office, where I have WiFi anyway. If I REALLY need to use the data service here or there, it still won't cost me $50 more paying per KB. When at home or in the office, I could also use Google Voice to make all of my phone calls over WiFi if I go over my 300 minutes (which I won't). Will Sprint allow me to activate an unlocked phone on their network? Are there glaring gaps in this plan?
