Is it possible to have a Direct Wi Fi Connection between my Android device (Lg L5 e610) and my PC (Win7, Ubuntu 13.04, Mac OSx Snow Leopard)? Is there any tool or program to do it? Is Wi-Fi Direct Software or Hardware feature. Is there any possible way to connect to a Wi-Fi Direct device from a device with only Wi-Fi support without using Superbeam or other apps that use Wifi hotspot feature.
In Wi-Fi Direct specification, it is written that "Only one of the Wi-Fi devices needs to be compliant with Wi-Fi Direct to establish a peer-to-peer connection that transfers data directly between each other with greatly reduced setup."
When I try to use wifi direct to connect my galaxy nexus with other phone, the connection is made but I do not know how to transfer pictures or videos or files to other phone..
There is an app that do this ? I have to install that only on my galaxy nexus or I also have to install that to other phone ?
I have a SGS3 that I have rooted and running CM10...
stock I had 'S Beam' which was awesome. because my gf has sgs3 as well, and i was able to send her videos directly from my phone..
but now that I'm running CM10 and jellybean, I lost this feature on my end
I looked at the app store with keyword 'wifi direct' and came up empty handed.
Recently bought a xperia z and i need to send him files around 2 gb.
I select a 200 mb press send from wifi direct on my s3 it finds the xperia z. I accept the message on the xperia z
But it doesn't send it it first loads around 3 minutes and than it says that it couldn't send the file

I just got a Netgear Push2TV 3000, which not only encompases WiDi, but Miracast support in this version.
From what my understand is though, is that both these WiDi and Miracast technologies are basically just wireless HDMI anyway.
My question is if it's possible to come up with a mod to work to allow any (or at least most) rooted phones with a ROM like CM that integrate Miracast into their settings for every build?
I did try doing just that with my droid 4 running CM 10,1 with its wifi direct setting..it said it was connecting, amazingly...but nothing else after that.
I have searched all night and can't find anything that will direct me to an internet connection with cricket. I have the phone unlocked with a good prl. I can make voice calls. I have been into epst so many times I am about to puke. Nothing seems to work. Please help.

I'm new here and I'm using a doixanh ROM, GingerDX (but I already used Froyobread). So, some time ago I had a problem...I couldn't connect my device (Sony Ericsson Xperia X8) to wifi.
What I did? I full wiped the phone...and that fixed the wifi issue. But now I have the same problem...I can't connect my phone to wifi anymore!
I could do another full wipe, but this problem would just appear again and again...I googled for some fixes and I found some answers...one of the solutions would be deleting one file (dhct or something) from the phone...the problem is: I don't have that file...

Also, either way, when I unlock the screen and go into wifi settings, I see that the phone is trying to make a wifi connection, but it never succeeds, even though it's my home network and I'm in the same room as the router. I run with wifi on all the time and have a handful of networks I connect to but would like the phone to automatically disconnect from wifi when 4G is available then reconnect if it is lost. This is useful for me at work because depending on where I am in the building I may have 4G/3G/no data but the wifi is everywhere but it is unsecured so I'd rather not use it if I don't have to.

View 1 Replies View RelatedGoogle Playstore can't connect to the internet (it says no connection). Wifi connection is OK. I can browse the web and the apps (that needs internet connection) works fine. The wifi notification icon is color gray (I know that it must be blue if there is internet connection). I've tried cleaning Playstore's cache, re-install the PlayStore, checked the system date &a time, and reseting the tablet, still the problem exist.
I don't think that the PlayStore caused the problem. Is there any other solutions other than the ones mentioned above. Do I need to re-install a driver or something? Can re-installing/installing a firmware fix this?
My tablet: SoftwinerEvb; Android 4.0.4. (a not so well known firmware)

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo recently I have started to have a problem with my Wi-Fi Connection on my Samsung Galaxy Blaze 4G , So I would be on the Wi-Fi fine then each time i click on a video it asks for "Complete action using" then my Wi-Fi instantly stops and the Wi-Fi icon isn't there anymore . After i clicked one of the option on complete action using, couple seconds later my internet comes back.
So problem is that each time i try to watch a video my Wi-Fi Stops when on Web. But then I can watch videos through the Youtube application.
Also Another weird thing is that after the Wi-Fi reconnects My "Use packet data" setting is auto enabled again.
I have a PC running Windows XP, which is connected to the internet using a wired cable modem. I then have a laptop, which I want to use to access the internet, but no wireless router.
Then I realized that my G1 (running Froyo) has WiFi, and I have the USB cable for it. So, is there any way of setting up my G1 to use the connection from the desktop PC via USB, and then broadcast it as a WiFi network? This is only intended to be a temporary solution (a few days) so I'm not going to go out and buy a wireless router or anything.

I do know that downloading on Wi-Fi is faster than using data (or so I've read). My question is if I start a download using data connection then turn Wi-Fi on will the download see the Wi-Fi and jump on that to speed up our do I have to start on Wi-Fi for it to use Wi-Fi?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using ICS Evervolv a5 on my N1. The mobile data connection works only if I don't connect to a WiFi network. If I do, the only way I have found to make it work again is to reboot the phone.
This means that while I am at home, everything works through WiFi, however, if I leave home, I have to reboot my phone once I am sure the phone is far enough from my WiFi access point to be able to connect. Then, it starts working with the cellular data plan
The only thing I can relate to this is that I have the "application protection" app installed, protecting the settings menu do with a code so my kids don't mess up with that. However, is still hard to believe that's the culprit.
