Sometimes it will come up as an Android Phone and list the normal drivers but that goes away and turns into an Unknown USB Device with no drivers in about 10 seconds. I've tried mounting it to Disk Drive, HTC Sync, Internet Pass-Through, and Sync Manager. I want to update my phone.

Oct 15, 2013My Galaxy Note SGH-i717 isn't getting recognized by all of my computers running either Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit or Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.This all started after my dog knocked off the phone with her Chuck Norris-like tail, and it sent the phone to download mode. After I got the phone off Download Mode, the phone sometimes doesn't charge, it keeps on thinking it's connected to a dock or a MHL device, and of course it won't get recognized by a computer. i planned on putting CyanogenMod on it, after I heard that the 4.2.2 rom went to a stabl status, Odin doesn't detect the phone is in Download Mode either.there is absolutely no thread for the SGH-i717.

Aug 2, 2010I recently lost the charger and cable that came with the phone, and bought another one, but the actual connector is slightly different. When I plug my phone into my computer, I don't get anything, either on the phone or on the computer, except that the phone does start charging. I get no "start USB service" or whatever option in the phone and the phone does not show up as a drive. Nothing, nada, zilch, zero. I'm guessing it's the cable, but I'd like to confirm before going out and buying another cable.

Okay, to mount your phone, and have your computer recognize the internal/external memory, do this:Connect your phone to your computer via USB. Give it a few seconds.Next, PULL DOWN your notification bar. Next, tap your finger on "USB CONNECTED"You then get a message asking if you would like to mount. Tap "mount" confirming you would like to do so.Enjoy, your computer should now recognize the internal/external memory.BTW, reverse this process before pulling the usb cable out. Nov 28, 2010I use Windows 7, received my Vibrant a few weeks ago and have been having a great time, but my phone doesn't mount! It mounted the very first time but after making a potential mistake, it stopped. Here's what happened: Yesterday I installed several apps (Beautiful Widgets, WidgetLocker, just for reference), and for the first time since receiving my handheld, wanted to add some files to it via my pc. I connected my Android as usual only to find that while both the phone & sd card were recognized on my computer, both contained no records, which was obviously a glitch.
I then tried unmounting my phone, and screwed up by selecting for my phone to be a media device rather than mass storage. Windows began searching for the device drivers, was unable to find them, and gave the message: "device driver software was not successfully installed." And now, whether mounted or not, windows no longer recognizes my phone's storage. My Android however, has no problems going from mounted to unmounted. However, I have tried connecting my phone to two other computers and none recognize my device.

I clicked the setup file, installed it, then switched my phone to USB Storage. Windows tried installing the drivers and said there was an error. General :: Mobile Switching OFF When Using WiFi?
Jan 4, 2013From the last 2 weeks i have been facing a weird problem with my A57. When ever i am trying to select Wifi, my mobile switch offs. I have to remove the battery and reinsert the battery then again switch on the phone.
It is working fine with DATA Mode, but the only problem is with the Wifi. I have done factory reset but no use.
General :: Android 2.3.4 - No Mobile Data After Using WiFi
Aug 3, 2012I run into rather strange problem. My phone, china Android 2.3.4, is working quite weel instead of this:
If I use WIFI, then turn it off and try to use mobile data connection, it is not possible.
Icon showing that mobile connection should be active is on, but no data comming through.
I tried switchiing to airplane mode, changing access point names and so on, but nothing worked. Only solution was to restart the phone, after that all works normally - until connecting to wifi.
After rooting my phone I tried to figure out more with Teminal emulator. It seems that after releasing wifi connection and turning interface down, mobile interface comes up with same IP as before - it should ask network for new one. But, more important, route table is empty (or containing one entery and no default gateway at all) I tried bringing mobile interface up and down several times, tried forcing it to use dhcp (timeout), without success.
Is there a way to "reset" whole networking system from shell? Something like partial restart, which would be probably quicker than full restart.

Aug 21, 2013I found that when my WiFi is on, when screen is off due to screen timeout, when I try to open screen again by pressing menu button or power button, nothing happened, I need to switch the mobile on again by pressing power button long press (not normal press to open as usual if you switched off manually)
someone told me because mobile is duos, may be you have only two gateway, when WiFi is one with access of data plan of two Sim cards, may be doing conflict, actually last week I switch data plan access between two Sims last week and I think this problem came with this action, I delete APN access points from one of two Sims but it didn't solve this problem.

Mar 4, 2010I am looking for an app that automatically switches off the cellular radio when wifi is connected and switches it back on when wifi loses connection. I'm not talking about the APN data connection which already does that, I'm talking about the regular cell phone connection.
According to my lack of results searching through the forums, Market, and Google, such an app does not exist yet. Currently the best app I've found to do anything remotely like this is the Airplane Mode Wi-Fi app, which is a manual switch and a slightly cumbersome one at that, not nearly good enough for how often I go in and out of wifi.
The reason I ask for this is because I use Google Voice with SIP and a prepaid plan. I want to use SIP as much as possible to save my prepaid minutes for when I really need them. When wifi and cell are both connected with Sipdroid running and I receive a call, they both ring at the same time. To be sure I don't accidentally use prepaid, I usually reject the call and call back over SIP, which is slightly annoying for both me and the caller.
