General :: Cleanup System Ringtone Selection

When I want to select a android-system ringtone, I get the following.
I got 2 times: Classic Ringtone_13 , the first one I selected, didn't work ( played the default ring tone ) but created a new not working Classic Ringtone_13. If I select the last one It works ( plays ringtone13 ).
Now my question how to clean up this list, because Now already got a lot of not working ringtones in my list ( see screenshot ).
My phone Ideos X5 U8800 , with ICS4.0.4 ( DZO's aurora_3.1_update5 )

I'm trying to use Spinner as a button with selection pop-up. Basically I want an icon and when user clicks it - the popup list is displayed and user can make a selection. The Spinner happily accepts icon image as drawable background. Unfortunately when I select a value the text overlays the background. Is it possible to set selection text color as a transparent? Or maybe there's a better way?

I noticed that when i turn don't the volume with the rocker button on the side it says ringtone and only lowers the ringer volume. The system and notification volume stays loud. Is there and way to control them all at once?

Is there any mechanism in android to perform post uninstall functions? Are there any functions which an application can override to perform custom cleanup when it is being uninstalled? Actually i want to delete some application specific files on uninstall

I have recently gotten the "low on space" warning. I uninstalled a bunch of apps that were cool to have but rarely used and took up a lot of space. I noticed though that old directories are still on my SD card (and internal storage too I think). What is the best way to SAFELY run a disk cleanup? Any "gotcha's" to watch out for? Is there an app that analyzes my directories and recommends those not needed bases on apps currently installed?

I recently got some fade in stuff working so that my "loading" view is an ImageView that takes up the whole screen, and then I fade in the main view (a GridView in this case) over the top of it. In the activity creation, I call:

Then when the loading AsyncTask is done, I call the following:

Do I need to do anything in particular to clean up the loading_foo view to reduce the amount of memory my app is using? Any other issues with this approach?

I bought Galaxy S4 mini I9192 and want to choose sim card while calling to contact. I dont want to scroll down and sellect sim (i am making about 300 calls per day and I have nervous while sellecting it. I use AOKP build 25 on my SGS and it worked perfectly before three days ago a new entry in my notification bar showed up and I can't get rid of it (see attached screenshot).
It's German, so in the upper line it says something like "Delete", and below "Text selection". When I click it, the system's memory usage is being opened but it's not going away.
Yesterday I noticed, that my Gmail doesn't sync even all settings are correct and haven't changed ever.

I recently bought a galaxy s4 , but the play store is so boring wth all the weird apps judging that my location is in the middle east. i experienced the same problem when i bought the lumia 920 and the solution was simply changing my location to the US to get access to all the goodies in the play store is there a way of changing my location on the galaxy s4 so that i can enjoy my play store?

With spinner, I am able to create a dropdownlist menu. (As seen from the code below)

I purchased my moment about 2 weeks ago and have been having fun figuring it out however there are some areas where I am having problems.
1. When you want to attach a document it selects the picture folder/area, how do you browse instead of being forced into that area.
2. I downloaded ringtone app and have found the app quite useful, the problem I am having is, the ringtones I have created don't show up in all the ringtone areas of my phone, what needs to be done to correct this.
3. The basic user guide that comes with the phone says there is an app I can download called samsung new pc studio. When I call sprint or samsung they say this app is not available or can't be used by a casd(the u.s. standard, I think casd is right), they say this software is only for the other standard, I did find this app on the web. Is what sprint and samsung saying true if not can I use the ones I found on the web.
4. If you could choose only ten apps to have(free)which ones would you choose?

I used the htc ringtone trimmed for one of the song in my music library on my phone and I'm sorry if there is already a thread for this but how are you able to delete these ringtones when you no longer want them? The program its self works fine for making ringtones but I cannot find anyway to delete them. I even looked in Astro. If someone doesnt mind could they please lend some advice on this. I've searched in the forums and I havnt found a solution to it.

My fiance upgraded from LG Voyager to Droid 2. She wanted her old ringtones from the Verizon Media store so she downloaded them. When she stored them they were given default names. I was able to make the appropriate ringtone associations, except for voicemail. I have 2 questions:
1. How do you set a ringtone for voicemail? When I run the standard voicemail app (Verizon) I cannot being up a menu.
2. How do I change the name of a ringtone file?

I'd like to set a new default ringtone without using the ringtone picker. In other words, there is a certain ringtone that is already installed on my system, and I want to programmatically set it to be my default ringtone without any human interaction. The reason I want this is because every time I reboot my N-1, my previous default ringtone setting gets forgotten, and I am given another ringtone that I don't like. I want to set up an app that I can run manually (or better yet, to cause to automatically run upon startup) which will reset my default ringtone to the one that I like without my having to manually do this via the Settings.
The only examples I have found so far for doing this involve using the ringtone picker, but as far as I can tell, this requires human interaction, which I want to avoid.

Hey all, so I just got a Samsung Galaxy finally in the mail. It took long enough to figure out how to put music on it, then use my music for ringtones. But when I am in Settings for Notification Ringtones, I do not see the mp3 I added but only in Calling Ringtones. Why is this? I want to use the same ringtone for notifications too!.

After applying SRE v1.2.3 (…… SRE v1.2.3… | Root + OC 1.2GHz + MobileAP + USB Tether + LagFix - xda-developers), my notification ringtone sucks. I have changed it many times but it still plays the "cloud" ringtone. Any ideas?

I have a Google Nexus running Android 4.1
I can set default ringtone and default notification both to silent so only people with custom ringtone can make my phone ring
I just got a Note 3 running Android 4.3
When I go to set the default ringtone there is no 'silent' option. Under default notification I can set that to 'none' which is the same as silent but there is no 'none' option for ringtone.
Can I set default ringtone to 'silent' or 'none' with Android 4.3 ?

I don't kow if this is just me, but when my ringtonr starts, it starts off quieter, then it gets extremely loud. Is there a way to turn off this cascading and have it ring at one volume?

I keep having to change my default ringtone to my choice, for some unknown reason, it keeps getting changed back to default. I have rings extended and have changed most of my contacts ringtones and they have stayed, but whenever I go to settings and change it and then either shut my phone off, plug it in, whatever, it causes it to go back to default. I have tried ringdroid and that seems to only work as a ringtone maker, it will not show up in the menu to change tones like Rings Extended does. I also moved my ringtones to an appropriate folder for access. I also have adw launcher now (previously Launcherpro plus-which made no difference)

I have a problem with my phone. I cant set any ringtone to it. Whether its MP3, or from system ringtones, it always plays "its" own ringtone. I got phone only yesterday and upgraded it from 2.3 to 4.0 (official upgrade) Everything wen fine.
I dont know what do with it, i looked through apps, if something doesnt have to do with it, but i think not. Is there app that sets ringtones?

I used ES File Explorer to copy all my OGG files in system/media/audio to external SD then used Windows explorer to copy the files to my PC. I then did the opposite process to transfer the OGG files off my PC to a new phone (have to mount RW internal storage so ES File Explorer could overwrite any duplicate OGG files.) None of the OGG files I transferred will play. However, the OGG files in the Internal Storage Ringtones directory all play fine and they appear as duplicate ringtones.
Does the copy process screw the OGG files up or can you just never overwrite files in the System > Media location and get them to work?
Seems I should just go delete all the ringtones in the System > Media location to remove the dupes and only work from the Internal Storage > Ringtones directory assuming I have all the system ringtones also in the directory.

Just recently I flashed my Wildfire with Cyanogenmod 7 and so far it's an awesome ROM, although I miss a few things from Sense.Just yesterday I noticed that on my Cyanogenmod 7 I can't seem use custom ringtones. Let me explain.
I deleted all the profiles and only the Default one is present and selected, it does not override anything.
Then I installed "Rings extended" because that seemed to work really good on stock ROM and selected to use it as the default ringtone picker.
It works fine, but the problem is, when I go to "Setttings -> Sound -> Phone ringtone" and select my ringtone using "Root explorer", or any other option available, it does select it and I can play it when I tap it, but it DOES NOT play when someone is calling me - instead it plays the first system ringtone.
Same thing happens with the notification sound and an SMS sound (Messaging -> Settings -> Notification settings -> select ringtone).
Now I tried to create a "ringtones" folder and "notifications" folder and put my rings there. The system ringtone picker detects them but again - does not play them.
