* OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE STARTTLS AUTH=PLAIN AUTH=DIGEST-MD5 AUTH=CRAM-MD5] Dovecot ready.
Means: IMAP with STARTTLS and encrypted (MD5) password
What is supported by the 4.1.1: None, SSL/TLS, SSL/TLS (all certs accepted), STARTTLS, STARTTLS (all certs accepted).What I would need is STARTTLS with password encryption md5 (automatically detected or fixed configurable).

In general I am thrilled with the newest Android offering for my phone, but I notice that now when I open the "Contacts" menu, my options are only to call or email that contact. In 1.6 on that same screen I had the option to Message them as well, is that something that could be wired back up? I use Handcent for messaging if that makes any difference.

I installed Handcent today but there was no widget option, just the app option. Any idea why? But, the file never shows up on the card, in the file browser (on the device - I use Glance). Where did the file go? When trying to browse the device from my desktop, I notice the USB Mass Storage option is missing guess that's expected since others in the forum explain that it was removed in this version. But, I can't get my PC to browse the memory card when it's stored in the phone. This all just seems to add up to a flaky memory management problem, but I can't be sure.

Nov 9, 2010I have a Droid X 2.2. I noticed that the option to sync with google calendar is missing on my phone. I have done quite a bit of research and tried what others have suggested. Here's what I've tried so far:
- Clearing the "Calendar Storage" and then creating another google dummy account as many suggested.
- Adding an event to the Calendar. I couldn't - it kept asking me to sync with a calendar account first. In the settings within the Calendar, when I checked Accounts, there was no accounts to add, neither could I add one.
The weirdest thing I found is that I don't have the same phone options as many online posts say I should have. At the Home > Settings > Accounts & Synchronization, I have only Accounts but no Synchronization. Is there an alternative like not using Google calendar but some other online calendar to sync?

Dec 10, 2009I purchased my moment about 2 weeks ago and have been having fun figuring it out however there are some areas where I am having problems.
1. When you want to attach a document it selects the picture folder/area, how do you browse instead of being forced into that area.
2. I downloaded ringtone app and have found the app quite useful, the problem I am having is, the ringtones I have created don't show up in all the ringtone areas of my phone, what needs to be done to correct this.
3. The basic user guide that comes with the phone says there is an app I can download called samsung new pc studio. When I call sprint or samsung they say this app is not available or can't be used by a casd(the u.s. standard, I think casd is right), they say this software is only for the other standard, I did find this app on the web. Is what sprint and samsung saying true if not can I use the ones I found on the web.
4. If you could choose only ten apps to have(free)which ones would you choose?

May 17, 2010I used the htc ringtone trimmed for one of the song in my music library on my phone and I'm sorry if there is already a thread for this but how are you able to delete these ringtones when you no longer want them? The program its self works fine for making ringtones but I cannot find anyway to delete them. I even looked in Astro. If someone doesnt mind could they please lend some advice on this. Mar 28, 2010I'd like to set a new default ringtone without using the ringtone picker. In other words, there is a certain ringtone that is already installed on my system, and I want to programmatically set it to be my default ringtone without any human interaction. The reason I want this is because every time I reboot my N-1, my previous default ringtone setting gets forgotten, and I am given another ringtone that I don't like. I want to set up an app that I can run manually (or better yet, to cause to automatically run upon startup) which will reset my default ringtone to the one that I like without my having to manually do this via the Settings.
The only examples I have found so far for doing this involve using the ringtone picker, but as far as I can tell, this requires human interaction, which I want to avoid.

When I go to set the default ringtone there is no 'silent' option. Under default notification I can set that to 'none' which is the same as silent but there is no 'none' option for ringtone.
