View 2 RepliesIs there a way to have backups made manually and scheduled backups displayed in separate lists? I would like to have my manual backups in a list(with max history) and backups scheduled weekly and daily in a different list with a different max backup history(3 for daily, 2 for weekly).
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I need to paste text from another app in my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy SII, O2, Jelly Bean), like from Google Keep or Docs, into a text message it tends to convert from an SMS to MMS. This leads to a charge for me as my SMS messages are included in my tariff but I have no allowance for MMS messages. I presume that this might be something to do with character encoding or other formatting data that is pasted in, but that is only a guess.
Is there any way to stop short messages from being converted to MMS messages like this:? I couldn't find any 'paste clipboard as plain text' option in Android Jelly Bean.
I am looking for a way to retrieve old texts that were in my phone, that were deleted, these are VERY important texts, is there a way i can get them back, there original texts were from dec/2012 to jan/ 2013, i have called verizon, and got their "static" answer

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a family plan on Verizon and my wife and son have iPhone 4's. Both of them can "Reply All" to group texts.
I tried looking for that option in both the stock HTC messaging app and Handcent, which I use exclusively, and can't seem to find it.
How do I set my own pic to my text messages? I know how to set the contact pics for each contact, but sent know how to set my own pic to my text messages.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe fake Bank of America got my phone number and I am getting a ton of fake phishing texts from them. Is there any way I can block texts. I use Mr. Number for phone calls and it works pretty well, but I don't know of a text blocker that would work..
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe get text messages from a lot of people, but those messages that are more than 160 seem to get split up. Well, we receive the first message (ex: 1 of 2), but the rest never comes. It doesn't seem to be towards a particular phone or service that we can tell.

I'm looking around for a textmessage app that allows me to send/recieve texts (like the default app) but also allows me to backup and store (maybe online) my messages.
For example:If I would buy a new phone, I just needed to redownload the app and restore my texts.
Is something like this available in the Play Store or not?I've looked around but the only things I could find were textmessage apps with some added fuctionality (fancy design and emoji-stuff), so not really the thing I'm looking for.
I know the stock Messaging app has an option to remove text messages over xxx messages but it doesn't work. I have 700+ text messages with some of my contacts and I'd like something to automatically remove all the messages over 200, i.e. I'd like no more than 200 texts per contact.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy is it on some text messages that I receive will have a download button. It does nothing!~!!! It says it is downloading but nothing ever comes of it. Not even the text part shows just who it was from. I have received texts with pictures with no problems, then randomly I'll get one of these.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have set the stock messaging app to keep 75 text messages for each user. For some reason, once that 75 message point is exceeded, it only deletes the incoming messages. My replies are kept, and the total number goes above 75 indefinitely until I delete the long tail of my replies at the top of the thread. First, would I be correct in assuming that this is not normal behavior? Second, if that's correct, how do I fix this?
If it matters, I'm using an HTC Evo 3D with a rooted version of the stock ROM. The same problem happened before rooting. I don't believe this is a maker- or device-specific problem, but I'm happy to repost in the Evo 3D subforum if it is.
Last night my phone suddenly stopped picking up some of my text messages. I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace and I have never had this problem before - I've had the phone for about 6 months now. It comes up with a notification that I have a message, and as normal when I drag down the notification bar it will let me preview the first line of the text. However when I go to my inbox it isn't there; likewise my sent messages haven't saved in the conversation.
The thing is, this is only an issue with two of my contacts; I have been sending and receiving texts from other people it's just these two and they both have i phones - could this be something to do with it?
I am not using any 3rd party messaging apps either like handcent. I just use the messaging service that the phone came with.
I said I've never had this issue before and out of the blue it's not showing my texts! It's driving me nuts.
How to delete the emergency text messages? I got my first one today, but can't delete it. I'm wondering if it will just eventually expire.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDo you really need an app in order to do so?
Or is there an option on the phone to reject/block text messages?
I been having issues with my htc thunderbolt off and on. But it seems the last two days it have been getting more common. My phone has been going black, than restarting. Sometimes it goes black, can't do anything than pops back up. Today I can't get text messages. I can send them, but can't get them. My friend and mom can't send me anything. Should I go to the Verizon store and replace it?
View 3 Replies View Relatedknow if there's a way to select a range (such as a date, like january first to february 8) of text messages to restore? It gets annoying sitting through the restoration of thousands of text messages, when really i only need the more recent ones.
I suppose a manual workaround this would be to have the application delete messages after x days...
I have just recently purchased the Galaxy 4. So far, I like it even though I am not using 95% of the capabilities, I am sure. Anyway, I need to get my texts from my old Droid 3. It has been deactivated to switch the service to my new phone. I never used the backup or the (sms???) card for my photos or my texts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wifes ZTE Blade 1 phone broke (graphics chip broke) but have a spare ZTE Skate. Luckily I have a clockworkmod image of the broken phone & have extracted the data from it to get the mmssms.db & telephony.db files.
However, when I paste them over the exsiting files (have root etc) & reboot I get force close errors & have to replace the old files back.
There is no way to boot the old phone & backup the messages - the only way to get the messages back is to get the mmssms.db to work.
Is there any application that automatically save text messages i want to use it for my kids so i know who they where texting.

View 2 Replies View Related I have been using Snapchat these days to chat with my friends so seems haven't been Real texting for long time. I have been searching so hard for a solution to quick regain lost message from Android phone. Yes, forget to tell you that I am using Samsung GT-s5300. After reading and googling for ages, I find that "Myjad Android SMS Recovery" might be the most suitable tool for me at the moment.
I received text messages from my husband's phone # but he swears he didn't send them, they said: busy right now, talk to you later. Is there something in the settings that he activated without knowing what it was, because one of his co-workers got the same text right.
